There are plenty of activities to partake in while on a visit or a more extended stay in the Maldives. This shack is located on the beach, and is the place to go to buy surfboards, and other aquatic supplies. Customers can also sign up for surf lessons from the employees that work there. It's a tiny building, but has anything a prospective surfer needs!

Bodu Niyami Kalēfanu Resort

This resort's name might sound like a mouthful, but it's named for one of the myths well known by those native to the Maldives. Bodu Niyami Kalēfanu was a seafarer that traveled to the tree at the end of the world, to bring back fish to survive. As such, this resort was named after him. It's not a traditional island resort, but is similar to the kind often found in the Maldives. Instead of hotel rooms and suites, there are villas. There are some on the water, some on the beach, and some in the gardens. All of them are private, and there is a main lodge for the resort with a restaurant, bar, and the pool. It's a quiet little resort -- smaller than some, but no less nice.

Malé Fish Market

No trip to the Maldives is complete without going to their fish market. It's a great place to people watch, to really get a good idea of the islands and what being there is really like and, of course, to buy some fresh catch. It's a completely unique experience and one that can't be missed. There are also other surrounding shops and restaurants around the fish market worth a visit!

Noo Lagoon

Lagoons are a stretch of saltwater separated from the sea by a low sandbank or a coral reef, and there are several ones to choose from in the Maldives. But Noo Lagoon has the bluest waters in the Maldives, some say the color is so beautiful it's almost like magic. It's a good place for swimming, or laying around and relaxing for a little while, as it's hidden enough to not ever be too overly crowded.

Maldives

The Maldives is a tropical nation in the Indian Ocean. It's known for its beaches, blue lagoons, and extensive reefs. The capital, Malé, has a busy fish market, restaurants and shops on the main road. There are many beautiful resorts and private islands, making the nation a very popular destination to travel. The Maldives is sinking, because of a lethal combination of high surface erosion and rising sea levels, so get there while you can.
