Just say what you mean, and mean what you say
@genesis @van  @duke
YThere were times when he wished that he hadn’t sold his house, the gaudy thing that it was. It was only an exercise in narcissism really and full of memories that he was better off without it. He had moved into an apartment in the fancy place, or as others called it Merlin’s Palace. It was how he ran into Tiberius Duke, or as the lad went as now, Crabbe. He knew the lad’s father well enough, they had been on competing ends of the spectrum for years, and even if he couldn’t stand the father, the boy seemed like a well enough bloke honestly. He didn’t have anything bad to say and with the band up and coming Fenix figured that touring with them wouldn’t be a bad thing.

Jamming with them was always fun, they were a rowdy bunch but he found that he liked it, that he liked them being around. His own bandmates were not so often trustworthy, even he loved them. They had been apart and together so often as of late that he questioned whether or not they were even a part of the band. He had been looking for new ones, so maybe he would start looking for new ones. Maybe he would be able to get the band off the ground again. He was tired of this not working. He had spent too much of his life trying to be something and he wasn’t about to give up.

Sitting on the plus couch he picked at his strings, working out a song that he and the Weird Sisters crew had been working on. He nodded his head and smirked as he looked up at Van. ”Right so who wrote this one? It’s not bad at all.”

give me your voice and i'll give it a listen
are you complete or is something missing?
He would be fine, eventually. This little bout of jealousy would pass, and he would be alright. Could it even really be called jealousy? More like completely distressed at the lack of involvement he had been given at his own best-mate's fucking wedding. It wasn't planned. He needed to remember that. It was spontaneous. Spur of the moment. A grand old time in fucking Las Vegas, and he wasn't invited. Not that they would have invited him along to their fun weekend alone. That would be weird beyond all reason, wouldn't it? Still, he could have... He could have... Fuck, he didn't know. There was nothing that Tib could have done differently, and Van knew it. He knew it, but damn it he didn't like it. Even though he claimed to be over the ordeal he wasn't yet. He was still looking for a loophole that he could find himself in the 'right' for being upset.

It was so typical of Van to be so mellow dramatic about the whole ordeal, and it actually had a decent enough impact as far as the band was concerned. He had gotten to spending a bit more time with Genesis as a result. It had started as a show, sort of. Basically a big eff-you too ol' Tiberius. Van had other friends, other band mates, ones who would invite him to their impromptu weddings! Well, OK, probably not. But whatever! He hadn't really cared for Genesis all that much in the past but now... Now she was kind of growing on him. She was young, so, so young. He had honestly believed that she wouldn't have the sound the band needed. They needed raw, awesome, rock! Not teeny-bopper whatever-the-hell! But after spending time with her he found that he may have, possibly...a little bit, been wrong.

THERE! He said it. He said it, OK. She wasn't half bad, in fact, she had quite an ear for music. The two had actually been able to write a bit of new music while Tib was off doing...whatever. Getting married. Hanging out with his wife. Not doing band related things, clearly! Tib or no Tib, the song actually rocked pretty hard. Van listened with a smirk hidden behind the knuckle of his hand as Fenix played the little piece. "Not bad? Mate, it's brilliant." He couldn't help but toot their horns a bit, he loved that damn riff. "That intro was me, but the verse was... Genesis, I believe." He shot her an approving look with a nod. "Chorus and bridge we both worked with a bit, basically a very cohesive group piece. Well, for those of us who weren't busy." He turned to shoot Tib a smirk that he felt very confident he would know was him silently flipping him the bird.

First, let it be clear that Genesis knew nothing about Tib's recent marriage. Next, it would be nice to address, yes she was spending more time with Van, they were in a band together for Merlin's sake. And Finally, if she were to ever have an impromptu wedding she would not even think about inviting Van. She tolerated him as of right now. She did not dislike him nor did she like him. She wanted to be part of a good, scratch that, great band and putting up with Van was all part of that. Alright, she was warming up to chico. She understood taking on a new member was not always everyone's favorite thing. So, she did her best to win over Van just enough. That meant hanging out with him more.

Gen was seated on her Cajon. It was a jam session and she had always found that this wood box was always better than having a drumset magically appear or using her drumsticks on whatever she could hit. Plus the Cajon meant she got a seat that no one could take if she had to get up. She felt a sense of pride in herself when Fenix said he liked the song she had worked with Van on. "Sí," Gen said in the response to Van's words. She picked up on the dig that was made at Tib and simply tilted her head to the side. She could tell something was going on there but she didn't have the slightest clue what it could be.
Outfit. In case you do not know what a cajon is. This is a cajon. This a great example of one being played.

So you can
wipe off that grin,
I know where you've been

There was one thing that Rob knew for sure--and that was that he was late. He hadn’t meant to be. He thought that he’d had plenty of time to get over to Merlin’s Palace, where Tib lived, from his penthouse near the river. But, admittedly, he had gotten distracted. He had decided that he’d head over early, because he had been very determined to actually make it there on time. But then he’d gotten there so early that he was quite confident that he had time to head into Diagon Alley, get a bite to eat, and then he’d seen that there was something going on in the music shop. So, clearly, he had gotten very distracted. By the time he realized it, he was late, and he’d had to leave behind the very interesting witch that he’d been talking to in the shop to head on over to Tib’s. He didn’t feel too, too bad about being late. This wasn’t anything official. It wasn’t a practice or a band meeting or anything like that.

But he was still technically late. A part of him wondered if he could just skip the little get-together all together, because he’d rather liked the company that he had been keeping at the music shop. She had been cute, and blonde, and probably very likely to agree to go out and get a couple drinks with him later. He didn’t think that Van or Tib would necessarily mind. Thought they’d even understand, really, but in the end he’d decided that it was probably better to head to Tib’s and not get distracted by the witch any longer than he already had. He had no idea just what the plan was for today or if they were just messing around, but he was never going to know if he missed it altogether. And then his manager would call him irresponsible, and it would be a whole thing and he didn’t need that in his life. He did try to be a mostly responsible human being. Sometimes. At least when it came to keeping commitments.

He pulled open the door to the apartment with his guitar strapped over his shoulder and a grin on his face. Rob didn’t see much of a reason to come up with excuses for why he was late or anything like that. These people knew him--he’d known Tib for years, had met Van through him. Genesis… he didn’t know her as well. She had only joined up in the band a few months ago, so she might think that it was annoying that he was late, but it truly was an accident. He thought he’d had time to dick around. He would have been early if it weren’t for the music shop incident, but there was nothing that he could do about that now. “Did I miss the next big hit?” Rob asked with a laugh, as he pulled his guitar around so that he could safely drop down onto the floor without breaking it.

He was late, he was really late. Stupid pizza place had taken forever to get the pizza and then they had been wrong. If they could have settled on chinese or ordering from Chutne things could have worked out, been okay. But no Fenix had offered to pay, so Tib had been nice enough to go get it since the place that he wanted it from wasn’t one that would deliver. He hadn’t had the time to stick around and he knew that he was missing them playing the new song. He was going to kick Van in his bollocks for not coming with him. Arse.

His mother could have helped or gotten delivery or something but who knew where she was. Probably avoiding the band or out doing something fun with Donna or someone. He wished that he was having fun, but instead he was standing in a lift, holding six hot boxes of pizza and muttering under his breath about how he was the face and shouldn’t have to do this shit.

After the doors opened he stepped from the lift and then into the hall before waving his wand to open the door and stepped in kicking the door shut behind him. Rob looked like he had just come in too, so maybe he wasn’t that late. Walking behind Fenix he kicked the leg of the chair playfully and smirked. ”Well, since Fenix was too busy kissing ass. How about someone help me out here.”

(wow this is so late )
