What it's it's lost behind
words we could never find
YHe had a lot to be thankful for, and he knew that a large portion of it was thanks to his sister. She had pushed him into making friends, into being social, but he had never once dreamed or thought that it would be possible to find not only love, but someone who loved him back in such a short time. Pansy was not someone that he thought that he had ever deserved, she was so much more beautiful than someone like him deserved, but he loved her more than he loved anyone else in his entire life, save for his sister. They were best friends, Pansy and Gen, they had a connection, and now he knew that they were sisters now, which meant so much.

He would soon be a father, and he was happier than he would ever admit. His first Christmas as a married man would also be his first as a father. Seeing her softly swelling belly as she dressed in the mornings filled him with a pride that he could not name. Maybe it was because he would have a child, hopefully more afterward, if Pansy was no opposed. He wanted his wife happy, he wanted his child happy. Naught else mattered to him really, but that was because of his family first mentality.

He had a lot that he had to do, but all he could think about was if his wife would be able to go to lunch with him, or if he should send her a memo to see what she wanted as he looked over the paperwork before him. Was it boring? Absolultely. He hated it, but it was safer than just being a Dragon Keeper and it meant that he would be close by if she ever had need of him. Yes, he worried about her, and about how she was doing. He had never been on this end of a pregnancy. He had seen his sister grow large with Rosier’s children multiple times, and she had looked radiant, but not as much as Pansy. Her lovely eyes seem to glow from within and it made him cherish her even more. Would but their child have her eyes and he would be lost to the world. He was reading the report one more time when he tore his eyes from it to find someone near him.

He stood and held his hand out. ”Ah, Travers, well met.”

Mikhael enjoyed his work as an Auror, in fact, he thrived on it. It offered him variety and that was something that suited him perfectly. After all, he thought variety would best for him. The last thing he wanted was a job that bore him. Additionally, he had made a promise to himself that he would get into a career that he would stick to for the rest of working career. That was the plan he had to date. If life presented him with different challenges down the track he would tackle them. He would be getting married soon and that was something he would have to consider when it came to his work. Sure there were Aurors that were married but part of the work meant going away on missions, sometimes for extended periods of time. He would have to talk to Amelia about that for sure. She was much younger than him and the last thing he wanted was her alone at home for too long.

While his sister and cousin thought he didn’t have a heart, in all honesty, he did. Perhaps he was just selective in who saw that side of him. But it wasn’t that his ego had skyrocketed. Far from it really, he knew that his parents had chosen his match with Amelia carefully (strategically even) and he wanted to do right by them by caring for her. He would try his hardest for someone who had not planned on settling down for him. However, much of his life was not decided on by himself but rather by his parents. It had been that way for years now but now he was not in the same country as them even. It was time for him to take more control on his life. He was in his late twenties after all and it was imperative that he wrote his own story.

Coming back from a mission no matter how big or small needed a lot of paperwork so that everything was documented. He made sure to be thorough in including even what could be considered as mundane facts. He thought even they may be somewhat useful in any investigation. He wasn’t sure what his boss thought of his reports but he heard no complaints so far. His most recent mission included a trip to a dragon sanctuary and he thought it was best to at least see if someone in that department thought it needed more detail or if what he had written included enough. The man they had been after was living near to the sanctuary and apparently had been a visitor there. Dragons weren’t a favourite of Mikhael’s but he was glad he not come face to face with one. He had read many horror stories about the creatures and wished not to be on receiving an end of an attack by a dragon. Mikhael approached Daniel Burke and shook his hand as he stood. ” Good to see you, Lord Burke, I trust my report was well received?”

-How about Tonight?
tag: // words: 401 // notes: ---
It wasn’t like Daniel was a horrible Death Eater, he stayed true to his convictions, and to whom he had always been. He hated people, he hated being around them and often preferred his own solitude to dealing with them. He had been that way for as long a he could remember, and he hadn’t seen a reason to change it. Moving back home it had seemed natural to spend time only with his family, and when Mellie had come back, she had been added to it. Family was what it was, and she had to live her own life, even if it was falling apart, and he had told her when they were younger that he would always be there for when things fell apart. She would always be one of his first priorities.

So doing things for her had seemed like nothing, it had seemed like the smallest of things. Making friends, being social had seemed like nothing, and Daniel had gone about it without question. He had done as she had asked without hesitation. Having lunch with her friend had seemed like a natural thing to do, after all they were in the same circles and had known each other for years, but there was a difference this time. He was trying, and it had paid off.

By some miracle, not only had Pansy chosen to want to date him and then live with him, but she had married him, and the impossible had happened. They were going to have a baby. By christmas he would be a fthe and the thought blew his mind, it honestly took his breath away at times. How he had gotten so very lucky as to have the love of someone as amazing as Pansy he would never understand. Was he soft when it came to her, hell yes. Was it a bad thing? Nope. He knew that it was a weakness and it made her a weakness, but there was no better one to have than that.

”Aye, it was. You’re much more detailed then some tend to be. At least you described the Dragons so we know which ones were the ones that were the cause so that we can act swiftly at least. “ It’s not like he worked then them long enough to even know which one it was, or that they all had their own personalities.
