She's a cutie! Merlin's beard, I am not!
Except she is though. She got down for awhile after the mess with Winslow Strike, but she is doing a lot better these days. The girl has an infectious smile that reaches her eyes. Eyes she inherited from her father--those that he inherited from his mother. Her hair on the other hand--that came from her mum. The sleek lovely style that Hermione sports now gives her hope that her hair will grow more manageable in the future.

character history
Being the child of the man who saved the wizarding world from the biggest, baddest dark wizard ever (twice--) meant growing up with everyone knowing about her family. It was a mark of pride and honor for Adaline. Who wouldn't want heroes for parents? Adaline had a good  childhood. Born between her two brothers, she always had playmates and friends. Plus, Teddy was often around. A fact that Adaline always enjoyed. She loved her family and liked them, too. It was  good life. 12 Grimmauld Place was home.

When it was time for her to go to Hogwarts, Adaline was really excited. She knew that out of all of her siblings, she was going to be the one to follow her parents into Gryffindor. She possessed so many traits from the both of them. Sure enough, girlie was a lion. Much like Hermione, Adaline has never met a book she didn't like. Though, she is still certainly her father's daughter, the witch is an absolute natural on a broom. Admittedly, she did not make seeker her first year, she was starting at the position by her third. That and fourth year was the years she really got to start. After that, she got pulled out of school.

It all kind of started with Winslow Strike. That witch as utterly mad...and did some really terrible things to both Deacon and Adaline. Deacon got the worst of it--and definitely took it harder than Adaline. She carries some guilt that she was not better able to protect her little brother. Some part of her thinks that it would have been a whole lot easier to do if he would have asked the Sorting Hat to not be put in Slytherin. He would have been well suited for Ravenclaw with Liam. But what is done is done. Nothing can be done to change the past.

Adaline is not one to really dwell on the past. She accepts what has happened and moves forward. It is a bit difficult to move forward with the current state of her life. After the lockdown at Hogwarts, when the Minstry got all super anti-muggle, the Potters went on the run. Over a year, she has been in hiding with her brothers and parents. Da pops out to London from time and time again--but she has not been off the island since they arrived.

There has been nothing to do save revision. Occasionally, she and Liam will play a bit of Quidditch, but there is only so much to be done with two players. Deacon isn't about flying...So, under Hermione's strenuous instruction, Adaline has soared ahead in her studies. Assuming she is ever able to come back to the UK, she is ready to sit for seven NEWTs. Depending on how things go and how much time she has for revision, she might add Ancient Runes to that list.

She misses her friends--she misses Teddy. It was a lot better, in her opinion, when he was on the island with him. Of course, she understands why he has gone back to London. She could not really imagine going back to Hogwarts again though. She is so far removed from the day to day life of most her age. Adaline has definitely matured over the past two years. Assuming the world can get reasonably set back to right, she would like to have an active, on the ground role with The Rising Phoenix Project.

family history
[shamelessly lifted from Deacon's application who had lifted it from Harry James Potter's application]

Mr. and Mrs. Potter of Number 12 Grimmauld Place were a far cry from normal, and they knew it. They were the first people you would expect to be involved in anything strange or mysterious, because they seemed to be magnets for it. Mr. Potter was an auror, or at least he used to be… This is the story of why he’s not…

Harry James Potter was born on July 31st, 1980, to James and Liliy Potter. There was a war afoot, no one and nothing was truly safe, and so the little family spent a good majority of their time hidden away in the Godric’s Hollow cottage under the protection of the Fidelus Charm.

It was Halloween Night, 1981. Harry was fifteen months old when his life changed forever. It was that night, in an upstairs bedroom of a now destroyed cottage, that Harry Potter became famous. Famous for somethign that no one believed he would ever remember. It was that night that Lord Voldemort stepped through the protective charms, that night that one of Lily and James Potter’s best friends traded away their secrets. It was that night that Lily’s love for her son, the love of a mother for her child, saved Harry’s life. The mark of such devotion was place upon him, and it was a mark that he shall bear forever. On the orders of Albus Dumbledore Harry was taken away from Godric’s Hollow, and his young godfather, Sirius Black. Instead he was brought to Surrey, a little house, on a quiet street, where the rest of our story begins...

The story that spans seven years of wizarding education, a ruthless madman, a wise teacher, and more heartbreak and turmoil than anyone could possibly imagine that a seventeen year old kid had to go through. (For the full story please see J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter series, available in over 440 countries and 70 languages. But don't read the epilogue, it lies.)

After the war, after he lost so many people, and so many things were going on there were trials, and testimonies, and Harry's own spared the Malfoy family some of their punishment. It allowed the Lady Malfoy to walk free, and her husband and son, well, it was better than nothing. Harry and Ginny tried to make it work for awhile after the war, but without the sense that he was about to die at any second some of the thrill was gone for them. After awhile of him in auror training, and her in school, well it just wasn't going to work out. They broke up not too long after they got back together, and really they make better siblings than they did lovers. Instead Harry ended up with his best friend. That's how it always works right? You don't realize that they really are the one until you step back and go... wait a minute...

Well Harry and Hermione gave it a shot, and before long they were married with a baby on the way. Harry was an auror, Hermione worked in the Beast Division of the Ministry, Kingsley was Minister and everything worked itself out. Harry and Hermione had three kids, and did their best to help Andromeda out with Teddy. They were a rag tag and makeshift family, but they were ever growing. The Potters, Andromeda and Teddy, the Weasleys, the Knightlys, the Longbottoms, all of them, slowly growing into one great big family.
