We're like a Wes Anderson movie
The way that we dress alike on purpose
But lately, we're not feeling groovy
I could use the best advice, I'm nervous

Was it November third yet? No, seriously, was it? This year was already going so fast Dima was quickly losing track of his days. Figuratively, not literally. In truth the boy was far more organized than was necessary and he always knew the date by heart but there were far too many days he caught himself double checking. This was his first year without his older brothers watching his every move and somehow that had made things go faster. Maybe because, for once, he didn't feel the need to be such a....Remnikov. He didn't have to watch what he said in fear of word getting back to Phief, nor did he have to worry about Alek rounding the corner and finding him talking to a muggleborn. Well, that wasn't really any issue anymore. They were still gone and for once he could actually say out loud that he didn't think that that was right.

Not that he had really been using his new found freedom to preach tolerance to the masses. He wasn't quite on that level, but he was trying to be more outgoing this year. One thing that really helped with that was his spot on the quidditch team. Almost all the students watched quidditch so it was something easy to talk about. Now he was just waiting for actual matches to start. The first being on the third of November. Twenty-two days from now. Merlin, why was that so far away? He supposed he ought to be happy about that. He'd need time to practice and get used to some of the new players this year. That, and being without LJ made things tough. He had been coach as long as Dima had played and Lyla was in charge. It was going to be a transition, one he hoped came rather quickly.

He did not know if he would ever want to be a captain. It seemed like a lot of responsibility. Dima was used to looking after himself. Ever since he was young he had been the odd man out, especially in his own family, and he did well on his own. Like today, as he buzzed around the quidditch pitch on his own, smacking a bludger around and trying to aim it at the goal post. It was sort of fun, actually. Like being a chaser and a beater all in one. He was alright as a chaser, not nearly as good as his teammates but batting a bludger was a different story. He had always been good at it and having a brother in the leagues helped a bit. Phief was always willing to take him to the Bat's practices or let him practice with him on off days. He was grateful to have been able to make use of Snidget this past summer and he hoped that come their first game he would play well.

Right now though he was having fun just playing by himself. Well, he was having fun for a while. After a short time he grew a little bored of his new game. He wrangled the bludger and flew back to the grassy pitch when he noticed another student headed his way. Dima squinted against the sun to see who it was, smirking when he finally recognized the boy. "
Hal," he greeted standing near upright on the footing of his broom before stepping off onto the grass. Dima held the bludger tight in his one arm as it made it's attempts to break free. "Coming to practice?"
