general appearance
Pale-skinned, prominent high cheekbones, with well-shaped dark brows and wavy black hair that she forgets to take a care of a few times a week. This hair, unfortunately, has the rather unfortunate habit of tangling far too easily and eating brushes, combs, hairties, whatever clothing it touches, insects, and small animals, thanks to an Aggressive Follicles Jinx she suffered about a decade back.
She knows she's fairly attractive, thanks to a few reporters and obsessive fans, and she tries to walk a line between looking natural and going natural. She never really learned to do anything with her hair other than straightening it, or putting it into a few off-centre horsetails.

skills
Dodging Bludgers, hitting Bludgers, eyesight, upper arm-strength, good balance, swift and agile flyer. She says nothing else is important, but she's really good at concentrating, and she has what she considers a good sense of fashion.
weaknesses
Criticism by those she respects, my god. On good days, she snaps back if she feels like it's unwarranted, and on bad days she cries. She's also somewhat jumpy, as benefits someone who was in the Battle of Hogwarts, and sudden loud noises. . .startle, let's say that, her. Single-minded focusing-- she focuses on what is right in front of her, which means she doesn't really see past it.
positive traits
Anticipative, assertive, athletic, compassionate, creative, decisive, dynamic, earnest, enthusiastic, genuine, hard-working, liberal, loyal, modest, principled, punctual
negative traits
Argumentative, somewhat asocial, blunt, disorganized, opinionated, obsessive, reactive, somewhat reckless, shortsighted, strong-willed
hobbies/interests
"What's a hobby?" she asks as she wakes up from her nap on her broom.
Other than Quidditch, Chasing, and Beating (she says those all ought to be individual), and QuidSwitch, she enjoys making plans for her team. she's also such a gossip and lives for the drama, my god

character history
She was a Gryffindor as soon as the Hat touched her head.

Well, that wasn't quite true, but it was what Demelza would tell people, sometimes with the wary glances of her parents, who remembered the six page letter she'd written in excruciating and embellished detail about her Sorting, and their own memories of her.

Demelza was slow to develop, and was very much an antisocial, quiet child who would stare off into space without noticing. Once her parents tried her off with a broomstick, she was still very antisocial, but no longer so quiet-- rather, her days were filled with screaming, falling off the broom, and pushing it harder. She attended Muggle schooling for a few years, on the advice of her grandfather, who thought it would be helpful to have her learn basic arithmetic, have some idea of geometry, and science. Demelza did learn-- but then it caused her to sink in on herself even more, as she would have to hide her family, and try to control her childhood magic.

In Hogwarts, her closest friends were Dennis Creevey and Natalie McDonald, fellow Gryffindors in her year. Their first year was the TriWizard Tournament-- where Harry Potter was chosen as a Hogwarts champion. She and her friends eagerly bet on the results, watched the challenges, and attempted to get older students to take them to the Yule Ball. When that failed, they decided they might as well fly around the Quidditch Pitch that night. Their actions resulted in month-long detentions, and Demelza never regretted it. The glee and excitement of such a monumental First year shattered when Potter came back clutching Cedric Diggory's body, claiming the Dark Lord was back.

Demelza still returned the next year, ignoring the rumors steadily growing about Potter. He was a hero, he couldn't have done what the Prophet was saying. Besides, everyone knew that at times the Prophet was only good for wrapping chips in it. It was mostly unmonumental (true, there was a mass break-out, but Demelza and her family would be in little danger, as little-known as they were) save for the last month, where Potter showed up in the Ministry, and the Ministry had acknowledged the return of one of the most powerful mages of all time.

In her Third year, she joined the Quidditch team at last, which was now under the Boy-Who-Lived's control. Demelza's hero worship eventually died off-- it was hard to look up to the Wizarding World's savior as much when you'd have to crash someone else's Comet Two Sixty because of. . .extremely complicated reasons, which she'd prefer not to go into. There was also far more drama than she thought ought to have been on a Quidditch team, with Dean Thomas and Ginny Weasley, Cormac McLaggen (Hermione Granger) and Ron Weasley, Ron Weasley and his temper, Cormac Bloody McLaggen and his stupid arrogance (if he thought he, as a conceited Keeper could tell her who was much better at dodging Bludgers than he could ever dream to be (as she showed him later that day when he knocked their captain out. personally. it was rather satisfying to hit Bludgers at his stupid face, and yell at him from somewhere around his waist)as well as-- well, their Captain got himself in detention for the last match. They still won, and Demelza found herself taking a shine to the Famous Ginny Weasley, who could fly both Seeker and Chaser almost equally well.

She'd participated fully in the Quidditch rivalries, striking up a vicious one with Slytherin Reserve Seeker, Harper. She'd never been sure if that was his first or last name, but she still hated him unequivocally, more than she hated than the Chasers Stupid Vaisey and Arrogant Zabini and Bloody Urquhart. Malfoy, the official Quidditch Seeker was too distant-- really, Harper played all of his games, or at least the Gryffindor one-- for her to hate in the innocently childish way.

In her Fourth year, like many other Gryffindors, Demelza joined Dumbledore's Army, suffered under the Carrows, stood against Pansy Parkinson, and snuck back into Hogwarts to fight. She was able to get a jinx on Harper, before she was caught by a Stunner by someone else. The person who Stunned her dragged her out of the way, and put her someplace where she was until the end of the Battle. She still doesn't know who did that, or what their intentions had been-- to save her, or hurt her.

A war hadn't stopped her from loving Hogwarts. War-driven, war-torn, and war-exhausted, Demelza returned for her OWL year, and her NEWT years. She made Prefect in her Fifth year-- her class had become diminished enough that Demelza's grades, while never stellar, had been enough to mark her as Prefect-worthy-- and Quidditch Captain in her Sixth year. She graduated Hogwarts quietly, with grief-- the students who had been Sorted before and after her had died in the Battle.

She continued to play, using every game to cope with feelings and fear she'd suppressed, and it was noticed. Right out of Hogwarts, she was signed onto the Harpies. She also found herself in the beds of many Quidditch players, and acquired a reputation. Within five years, she was playing Chaser for the English National Team, and switched from Chaser to Beater for the Harpies. She was as good at hitting Bludgers as she was dodging them, as she'd found out from QuidSwitch, and there was something immensely satisfying about swinging her bat and pummeling someone.

She stayed on her teams, when the mess at the Ministry happened. When it became too much, and her head rang with memories of the Battle, she'd mount her broom and escape.

"But also, they're pretty distant, don't like my dad all too well, disowned my mum, so do they really count? I mean, we're all interrelated and somewhere along the lines, some relative of mine married someone who had a sibling marry someone who was something, right? Isn't that how all families go?"

"Except @winona and Grandmum's family. I like the Dearborns. And the Robinses, of course."
family history
Some Cornish family, the Dearborns, some Scottish family, Averys, Sayres, Princes. . .

The Robins, technically, are a Muggle family-- or at least, their surname is. The original name (supposedly Hrodebert) is said to mean "fame-bright", and like other families with crests and mottos from likely ancestors (look, it's not as if they can really tell grandfather from great-uncle a thousand years back) were first known in war. Vivat post funera vitus -- virtue lives after death. Their crest was blue, with a yellow-gold chevron, signifying truth, loyalty, and strength and either gold or greenish shaped. . things Demelza has never been able to make out. Or her grandfather. Or anyone else probably since they earned it/claimed it from someone with the same surname. They're there, and no one knows what they are. she assumes turnips or tridents.

Her grandfather Tom Robins, though Muggle, managed to catch the eye of a half-blood neighbor, and despite objections from her family, they married. Tom and Carys had two sons they named Rhiseart and Corin, and when the elder began showing magic, Carys confessed she was a witch. Tom was surprised, scared, and asked her one thing: if that was how her meals were the best in the neighborhood. With that, Carys decided that she'd fallen in love with the right man (even if he wasn't the brightest at times). Carys Dearborn liked a quiet life. She was the oldest sibling, and she'd been close with both of her brothers. Caradoc was the one best-known-- he'd joined the Order, and his body was never recovered. Cadoc was still in Hogwarts when she married her Muggle husband, and she'd been content.

Anne Robins was a different case. She was a daughter of Leonis Avery, the late-born son of Julian Avery's second marriage to Vispania Prince. That's really all that's important to say about the quinary line of Julian, really. Leonis Avery's wife Cera was more interesting. Cera Sayre was born to the Head of the Sayre line and his wife Álfhildur Eriksdottír in the flower of their youth, and for many years was their only child. She was wild and had a taste for martial magic, as benefitted a descendant of the great witch Morrígan. Except. . .

She spent a fair amount of what would have been her Sixth year abroad, it must be admitted. Her younger brother Tiernán was born a few months after she supposedly returned from France, though there's little evidence she actually travelled over there. Either way, Cera was quickly married off to a son unlikely to inherit much, and it must be said she had little contact with her younger brother. It took Cera five years to conceive, and Anne was the firstborn child, though Cera would go on to birth four other girls in quick secession: the identical twins Vania and Sonia in 1965, Sibéal in 1967, and Leontia in 1970. She never had a legitimate son, and Sibéal and Leontia died quite young.

Anne was disowned by her Avery father when she ran away with a half-blood of questionable origins and relations to the Order, though the Sayres refused to disinherit Tiernán when he wed a Muggleborn. If Tiernán was Cera's son as was rumored, it could be said Cera failed completely in the rearing of her eldest children. . . though then again, the Sayres have never been a very purist family.

Things to say!!

1. @melina needs three more posts! She has lovely stuff in Misc., but unfortunately those don't count toward 5 RP posts!

2. She would actually be 33 right now, turning 34 in literally like 3 days so I'm sorry to be nitpicky, BUT RIGHT NOW SHE'S 33!

THAT'S IT! THEN WE CAN SORT!
