Life, she was learning was funny. It would throw you for a loop when you were not looking, and she was barely recovering. She had a lot that was sitting on her, and a lot that she just wanted to get better. Life however, wasn't being kind to her and she knew it. Grayson had a cold because of all the snow. She was not happy about it at all, but she was trying to deal with it all. She was out getting some stuff for Christine that she had asked for for her room, and Delphi was pretty pleased with how everything was looking, the paint had come out rather well, and she had even been able to keep Grayson out of the paint and he hadn't made a big mess so she was glad. His play area in the front room had chalkboard walls and all the chalk that he could handle in there as well. She felt like she was making their apartment ainto a home and it was something that made her happy.

For now though she was doing all of the shopping that she needed to do. She had bought Gray new shoes, she had bought new shoes and sent them off to Christine (because the child was growing like a weed), and was on to the project of getting records and CDs for Christine's room and for her own collection. She had a bit of pep in her step and she could not help the smile on her face. Her life had gone to shit more than once but she was recovering and she would move on with things. It was just how things were. She would always be happy, because she had too many people who needed her. She had too much riding on this.

She was looking at a CD and took a step backwards, and bumped into someone. Looking up at the taller man she could not help but smile and laugh. 'Sorry, mate."

Broken guitar strings were a musicians worst enemy. There was no way to repair a broken string or instrument with magic - and if you did - it would never play like new again. Stringed instruments were finicky like that. They never felt or tuned proper after being tempered with magic; recently his guitar had developed a strange hum or vibration emitting from behind the strings that just didn't sound right to the ears. Like an annoying echo of sorts, it was driving Alfie mad! Now, he had his fair share of broken guitar strings and other mishaps due to accidents and general wear and tear. Last week his guitar took quite the beating before the Full Moon, though. Sometimes he struggled with his strength the week leading up to the moon, depending on the type of Full Moon that said month, it was harder to keep control. Alfie used his usual repair charms to put the strings back together again, but all of his attempts failed miserably after the weird hum behind the strings got louder.

Growing up with his mum being a prestigious music teacher in their Irish town, she had trained him on as many musical instruments that he was willing to get his hands on. If it had strings, he could play, or at least tune it by ear. Guitar and piano were the two instruments that really stuck with him throughout the years. Drums were his third runner up - and it the best way to blow off steam on those hard weeks leading up to Full Moon - thank Merlin for sound proofing charms. He probably should have stuck with drums last week, however, because now he needed all new strings for his acoustic Fender. At least it gave him a reason to visit one of his favorite Muggle shops in London, it had been a minute.

Today Alfie spent a good hour chopping it up with the Muggle employees in his favorite music shop in London talking about music theory and general bolloxology. Alfie always got a kick out of Muggles and chatting with them, he couldn't help but think of his dear mother, especially the blokes at the music shop since they always would drop useful music knowledge on him. He really enjoyed that the most.

"Thanks for the help, mate, you're a lifesaver. Looks good as new." Alfie gave the bloke behind the counter a firm handshake and was starting to turn on his heel when he suddenly collided with a much smaller frame. He was pretty sure he actually felt them bounce off of him for a second. "Oi! Excu-" Alfie quickly started to apologize to the petite woman with a look of surprise, "D'oh, Delphi, darlin'!" his hazel eyes widened to large saucers, but he still looked pleased by the fact. He wasn't really used to seeing other magical folk here. "Fancy bumpin' into you here, mate. How have you been? It's been forever." Alfie set down the guitar on the counter while  opening his arms to give the woman a quick, but friendly, embrace.

Delphi’s life had been missing that distinct spark in the last few months, and she knew that she wasn’t really being herself. She was lacking things, missing things and people. She missed her sister, and her friends. She missed Randy, she missed what they had, but she also missed Christine. She hadn’t gotten to know the girl well, but as their world had fallen apart at Christmsas, she had woken every morning to the girl in the bed with her, cuddling or snuggling her. The poor child had lacked any sort of affection for s long that it damn near had broken her heart and they had taken a shining to one another from that moment on, but Delphi felt the need to go above and beyond. She felt the need to be more, to be better for her daughter. She had had such a rough life up until this point and now Delphi was all that she had. It hurt the woman, to think that this girl who only wanted to be loved ha d never been in her life.

She saw so much of herself reflected back in those soft eyes of hers and it broke her heart. It was why she did everything that she could to make their apartment a home. She had painted the white walls, hung decorations, decorated. She had done everything that she could to make it comfortable to all of them, and her toddler seemed to enjoy things, so she was happy; but she wanted Christine to be happy. She wanted this child to know that her mother loved her. That she was not alone and that she never would be again.

Weird Sisters and Weird Sisters II were two different bands, with two different sounds and she could not freaking remember which one it was that Christine liked. She wanted to say that the girl liked the new band, they had a more streamlined sound, and they were rather popular because of their pretty members. She had been thinking over that when she had bumped into someone. She tucked her blonde hair behind her ear and smiled softly. ”Alfie! As I live and breathe!” She exclaimed before hugging the man quickly.

”I’ve been alright, I’m a mum now, working at Mungo’s again. What about you?! You still fancying the fame game?”
