This family-owned paper shop is a fixture of the community and is located in the muggle portion of the village. Positioned downwind and not far from the coffeehouse, this shop draws in the passerby with its creative window displays. Once inside, the sweet vanilla smell of stationary paper mingles with the rich aroma of coffee to create a peaceful, inspirational environment. Warm wood grain and honey tinted ivory dominate the decor. The aged pine floors creak under foot, but despite its age, the shop does not lack modern amenities, including wifi. The market for fine paper and stationary might have decreased over the last few years, but the stock kept here has not--to include handmade paper made on site. The business has modernized to remain profitable by subdividing the retail space to provided office hourly/weekly/monthly rentals for working professionals. Space in the rear is not accessible to the public; that area is where the artisan handmade paper is crafted.

It's an observatory, really. A deceptively modern-looking cluster (6) of glass domes the size of huts ringed around a larger dome the size of several houses, it's located far into the outskirts of Ottery St. Catchpole. There is a large fence all around it, complete with wards and all, and a reception building at the only entrance. Through underground passages one can go into the different domes. The largest is kept for presentation and research purposes, thus for tours and for astronomers who have special investigations to do. The smaller domes can be rented out privately -trips for the kids or academic researchers- but they are always accompanied by one of the observatory's caretakers. The domes themselves are made of unbreakable glass, and enchanted to serve the same purpose as a telescope lens. The management and directing of the dome is a complicated affair, and damage to its magic can be done easily. It is therefore advised to not touch anything without a caretaker or staff's presence. The reception building has the management offices, a small café, and several offices for the academic staff and tour guides.

Bette & Olive's Grocery

This local grocery shop was created by, you guessed it, two sisters by the name of Bette and Olive, though that was years ago. The name stuck, however, and it is the only grocery store in the village to get all of the wares that you could possibly need. It is a rather small shop, as most are in Ottery St. Catchpole, but it is always well stocked.

A popular little place with comfy seating the coffeehouse is incredibly accommodating with it's long hours and serves a nearly magical blend. The decor is a combination of comfy and stylish with it's sleek signs, window seating, and the warm fireplace that goes all year round.

Following a lightly trodden trail one will find a glistening pond with a cherry blossom tree hanging over a small bench the enchanting area is a wonderful picnic spot and a very popular fishing hole. To both muggles and magical people the area is a nice place to relax and take a break from the real world.

St. Catchpole Chapel

At the end of a dirt road lies this old, abandoned chapel. Once used for everything from weddings to funerals and regular Sunday services, it now sits unused and rotting. There is a small graveyard next to it with old family plots and a few newer ones. Nobody really thinks it's haunted, but the older children sometimes tell the younger ones it is just to scare them.

Sweet Stems Flower Shop

This small shop, located on the corer of the main street in Ottery St. Catchpole, has the best (...and the only) flowers in town. Walking in, one would see bright colors and smell sweet scents in all directions, and everyone that works there is always ready to help their customers find exactly what they're looking for.

The Ottery Eatery

Styled like a classic diner, the Ottery Eatery is a small joint with a lively atmosphere, despite the fact that the building looks a little worn from the outside. It is one of the oldest businesses in the village in the middle of town and it is almost always well attended by the villagers. It's home to Muggles and magical folk alike, and it serves the classic burgers, fish and chips, and milkshakes.

This monthly tabloid is marketed as the Wizarding World's Alternative Voice, and the offices are just as eccentric as you would imagine it to be. It is located off of one of Ottery St. Catchpole's few side streets, with charms in place to keep Muggles from looking too closely.

This small bistro is known for their delicious lunches, though all meals are served there as well. The owners are magical, though obviously the Muggle folk don't know that, and so the decor and restaurant are a little fantastical, and magical. Muggles just think its theme is Alice in Wonderland, though, so no one is the wiser of who owns the place. The small bistro has window covering one entire wall, looking out onto the street, and has many tables and booths to choose from. It is a small place, but with plenty of natural lighting, and it is an excellent place to stop by for a bite to eat.

Willow Woods Park

Located on the outskirts of the village, Willow Woods Park is a large community park for villagers to spend their days outdoors. There's a well travelled walking path, benches for park goers to relax on, and a play area for small children. There are scattered flower patches that look lovely in the spring, and willow trees surrounding the area make the area shady and picturesque

Ottery St. Catchpole is a small town, and it is located in Devon, England. This is both a Muggle and a magical village, and so residents there have to be cautious to make sure to abide to the Statute of Secrecy. Famous families in the area are the Weasleys, and the Lovegoods, though other wizarding families can be found there as well. It is quite the small village, but has plenty of small shops and apartments.
