Entre las Piedras

Like some other big cities do, Madrid had an area completely hidden from the view of Muggles, with a myriad of shops that have anything a witch or wizard could need. All one needs to do is go off of a side alley in the Gateway of the Sun. It will look like a dark and rather ominous alley to a Muggle, but magical folk will see a door at the end of the alley, and will be able to open it to enter Entre las Piedras. It has a wand shop, robe shops, bookstores, and everything in between. It has it all in one place, and a bank of course, for all the money you'll be spending!

This small pub signifies exactly what la sobremesa means. It's that time when family or friends or whomever else is done eating, but they're simply hanging out and spending time with who they spent their meal with. That's something that happens often at La Sobremesa. The pub offers plenty of food and drinks, that keep the people that go there spending hours on end eating and drinking and having a good time. This is a lively place -- not that great of a place to go on a short lunch break, because it's hard to want to leave once you're there!

This market is right outside of the Plaza Mayor, and it's a favorite -- not just among tourists, and locals as well. It's cast iron covering protects it from the elements, and visitors can come to get wine, a cocktail, coffee, and tapas. But there are also stalls to get fresh ingredients -- like fruit, seafood, and meat. It's a fun and interesting place to spend a few hours, though the food, drinks, and ingredients that can be purchased here are a bit on the pricier side.

This boutique has interesting designs as far as their clothing is concerned, but it has pieces that just can't be found anywhere else. They also sell jewelry, handbags, and shoes, and most of the jewelry pieces are handmade. It's got a moderate price point, so people that come to the shop don't have to be the wealthiest in the world to pick up a few things, but the unique style brings in people that are also used to spending a bit more on clothes.

Madrid

This country's capital, Madrid is a city of elegant boulevards and expansive, manicured parks. It is home to the oldest restaurant in the world, known as Restaurante Botin. The biggest and most important bull-fighting arenas in Spain is located in Madrid, called Las Ventas Bullring. The city has more cloudless days than any other place in Europe, and the fact that its mostly always sunny in Madrid is one of many reasons to visit!
