Aber Falls

This waterfall is a little way’s outside of Bangor, but it is well worth the trip. It is formed by the Afon Goch plunges about 120 feet over igneous rock, in the foothills of Carneddau. It’s a beautiful walk, and a nice place to have a picnic or relax. One might also find some wild horses along the way. The pathways are well kept, so getting lost isn’t a feat all that easy to do, and it is a gorgeous trip no matter what the season is.

Ddafad Bed & Breakfast

There are more sheep in Wales than there are people! Four times more, actually. It was that fact that gave this bed and breakfast its name. It’s located on the outskirts of the city, with a backyard. There are actually sheep that the owners have had for years, because wool is their main business. It is a nice three story home, that can house up to ten guests at a time. It’s a nice place to stay for the price, and isn’t too far away from popular tourist attractions. The owners are magical, which makes it even easier for magical folk to get into the heart of the city — just a quick Floo away!

Excalibur Square

It is a little known fact that Wales is the home to the King Arthur legend, and as such, the magical square of Bangor was named Excalibur Square. It is hidden in the heart of the city, and has everything that a witch or wizard could need. Although Bangor is not the capital of Wales, this is the largest wizarding square in Wales, surpassing Cardiff's in size and popularity. It has many restaurants, coffee shops, and shops having anything anyone could need. It's not quite Diagon Alley, but it does get quite close.

Wales is well known for beer, and has many breweries. Pritchard Pub is a rather popular little pub, in particular because they brew their own beer. They have other lagers of course, but many of their most popular brews are made in their brewery attached to the bar. It's a dimly lit pub, commonly with live music but at the very least, there is always music playing. It is owned by the Pritchard family, and has been in the family for generations. It's a popular spot for a night out.

University of Bangor

This is a small university, but it is popular amongst locals. It can't compete with some of the bigger wizarding universities and doesn't have as many offerings as say, Lufkin University. But it is still a well-respected university in the United Kingdom, and not all that easy to get into. It focuses on the main magical specialities — alchemy, arithmancy, astronomy, dragonology, herbology, magizoology, and potionology. It is hidden in plain sight in the city, with dormitories, a student union, and buildings for classes.

Welshman's Oen

Some of the most popular meals in Wales comes from their own natural resources, and as such, Welsh lamb is a very popular dish in the country. Welshman’s Oen is a casual restaurant, similar to a deli. They specialize in lamb, mostly with sandwiches. They do offer more than just lamb, so the title is a little misleading, but it is what it’s most popular for. It’s worth a visit for anyone wanting a taste of one of Wales’ most famed dishes.

Bangor is a city located in northwest Wales, and is actually the oldest city in the country, as well as being one of the smallest. Muggles have actually made it illegal for teenagers to wander around the city streets after nine at night, without an adult — something that magical folk must keep in mind as well, for obvious reasons. There is a popular Muggle university here, and as such, the first wizarding university in Wales is also located in Bangor. It is a small university, not much competition for England’s Lufkin University, but it is a place to go for wizards and witches that would rather be in Wales than London.
