Character Name:
Age: 32
Ability: Occlumency
Current Level: Intermediate
Why do you feel your character can improve in levels? For one, I would like to change her to a Natural Occlumens! (and i'm good to open her app to add that, I didn't know that was quite a possibility until recently, but I do think I'd asked about that possibility when making her to begin with!)

For another, the past year has been spent doing a fair amount of smuggling-- in getting people out, getting things around, getting people back in, hiding them, and she's been teaching Bryce Davies Occlumency. I feel like it would match her age and usage to be Expert by now!
Please list the six threads where the ability is used:
Echad
Shtaim
Shelosh
Arba
Hamesh (edited to fix a typo)
Shesh

- hi, there's nothing on the Wiki to support that there are natural-born Occlumens! If you have found something that can, just let me know. But I read through the Wiki to verify and did not find anything! Level change has been approved though.

Transfiguration Classroom 2016

The witch cupped her hands together in front of her and for the first time since entering the room, her attention left the professor and focused in the void of space above her palms. "Aguamenti," Kali whispered. Slowly a sphere of water grew into being floating a few inches above her hands. The next spell the witch cast, she achieved non-verbally. Phase shifting had always come easier to her than conjuration, though due to Myles's commitment to her mastery of the latter in pursuit of fiendfyre, she had grown adept at both. Not that she actually managed to mastery fiendfyre, yet. That was years away, still. She could have conjured it. That would have been easy, but mastering it. That took years of practice.

The ice froze and rose slightly higher from her hands. This was where things got extra complicated. The goal was to conjure fire beneath the ice, while maintaining the spherical shape by maintaining control over the positions of the water molecules. The exercise in the week she had been practicing it had expanded her ability to focus considerably.

A long preparatory breath was drawn in through her nose. Her eyes were fixated in front of her. She had not even glanced the professor's way since beginning her demonstration. "Incendio Tria," was the husky incantation commanded from her tongue. Blue flames burst into being beneath the frozen sphere, tips as vibrant as her eyes licked around the icy surface, rising up to engulf the ball. Kallisto felt the first drops of water hit her palms and frowned, but she did not let the imperfection of her attempt to cause her to abandon the effort. She ignored the few dozen splatters that came against her skin over the ten or so seconds that the fire engulfed her conjured water. Barely visible curls of steam rose up, escaping her magic, enough time had passed--

"Evanesco," she thought in her mind, commanding the fire into a state of non-being. When the flames died out, floating before her was a ball of liquid water. Her execution still was not perfect, but she had come quite a long way in the six hours she had spent practicing outside on the balcony last night after her rounds.. The double conjuration had not been a problem for her, but keeping full control of the fire and the water had provided to be extremely difficult. It wasn't just her conjuration or phase shifting transfiguration skills that were being tested and strengthened by this activity. Vanishment was required to get rid of the flames before the water evaporated away. Even transformative transfiguration had a place in this series of spells, as she used transformative magic to force the liquid water to shape itself into a ball.

Another nonverbal casting of the vanishing spell and the water disappeared from view. The twenty or so droplets that had found their way onto her palms earned a distinct frown from the witch as she brushed her hands together a few times until the water was gone.

Character Name:

Age:
22

Ability:
Elemental, Air

Level Requesting:
Intermediate

Why is this magical ability important to your character?
Temperance's personality is defined by her name in so many ways. She is restrained and dedicated to duty to family. Considering the force and nature of her desire for control over herself and all the things around her and the proclivity for magical gifts to manifest in families, I believe it makes sense for Temperance to have an elemental mastery, but not of fire like her mother, but of air.

Out of all the elements, air is the most appropriate for Temperance. Like her, it can be tempestuous or still. It can be as gentle as a soft sigh or as powerful as the mightiest tornado. It reflects the duality of her nature. Like Tempe, air can be thought of as invisible, but is felt. It is necessary, even as it is not as flashy or attention seeking. Sound is a manifestation of this element. Her elemental mastery carries over into the witch being a musical prodigy. Though she has chosen not to flaunt the mastery through manipulation of woodwind instruments publicly, she does have the ability to accompany her bass with the pan flute while composing.

How did your character learn this ability, if applicable? She was born with it.

Any Additional Comments?
She totally has it under control now that she's lost her magic. It's fine. Totally fine.

Have you read the rules?
There was some light skimming.

Role-Playing Sample of your character using this ability:

Death of Andrew Mountbatten
Work camp fire kills six death eaters

Temperance did not want to believe it. She refused. Her otec could not be dead. He couldn't. It wasn't fair. Her teta was with her matka. Constance was somewhere...who even knew. Thea retreated. Temperance followed suit. She hid in her room. She barred the door. She would not answer the knock from her sestra, nor her bratr, nor her strýc. She could not stand to see them now. She could not stand for them to see her now. Matka had Aurora. She would be okay for now. Temperance could hide. She could withdraw. It would be okay.

The tears came first and then the howled screams of mourning. Cries of how unfair and unjust the murder of her father was ripped from her lungs and reverberated around her room. The palms of her hands pressed hard against her eyes until all she saw were white flashes. The pain was immaterial--anything to get the vision of her father burning to death out of her mind.

She couldn't bare the visual. Her creative mind painted it so vividly in her imagination. It was vulgar and brutal--there were fewer more horrible ways to die that the witch could imagine. The deeper into her sorrow and rage she slipped, the more out of control her natural abilities grew. She had never struggled to control herself magically or otherwise. Not since she was a little child, even then she had been calm.

But she wasn't calm now. She was a disaster--and as her heart broke, so did her self control. Wind whipped around her room, mirrors and pictures were ripped off the walls. Temperance rocked herself in the center of the floor, head in her hands. Safe from the destruction she was creating, right in the center of the swirling winds, she let herself pour all of the emotion she could not process or comprehend into the manifestation. The wind howled, amplifying the girl's cries. A scream of anger and frustration came off her tongue as Temperance sat there, weeping in the eye of the tornado she had conjured.

When exhaustion began to overpower the agony she felt over the loss of her father, the winds began to die down. Objects fell haphazardly to the ground. She did not reach for her wand, the witch just curled upon herself and slept there in the floor. When she woke, she would embark on the process of setting it all to right---one repairing charm at a time, until all the evidence of her loss of control would be magicked away.

Age:31
Ability: Animagus - Irish Wolfhound
Level Requesting:n/a
Why is this magical ability important to your character? It allows him to go incognito when on missions and additionally, it enables Murphy to reach areas that he can't as a human
How did your character learn this ability, if applicable? Through study and guidance at Beauxbatons
Any Additional Comments?it was mentioned in his app
Have you read the rules?yes I have
Role-Playing Sample of your character using this ability:

This was supposed to be an assessment. Murphy understood that from the get-go but he couldn’t shake the pressure from today, for this was a test, part of him becoming a member of the confederation police force. He was doing this to protect others. The list of the people he wanted to protect was already extensive but now it was going to grow exponentially. Murphy was often described as a soft soul by his parents and that could be seen in his desire to keep the peace in situations. But knew that the being part of the ICW was something else and after talking it through his parents and Katja, he had decided to join the police force. While he knew his proficiency in languages and duelling would serve him well in these tasks, he also had to keep his mind in check.

Tonight’s test was about making it through an obstacle course as best you could in the quickest time you could manage. Murphy he knew he would have to take on his other self if he wanted to ensure he made it out without too much damage. He set about after receiving the go-ahead from his trainer to get moving. He raced into the dense forest. There was no shortage of greenery in this part of Switzerland. Turning around, Murphy doubled back and turned past another set of trees before he jumped over a set of boulders with his eyes closes and landed on all fours. He shook himself and looked through his canine set of eyes and sniffed the air. It was cool on the tip of his snout and he started to race through the forest again. Someone in the back of his mind, there was a voice telling him not to waste time and to catch up.

Sensing he was near a clearing that would signal the end of this task, Murphy sped up and leapt onto some rocks, still in his wolfhound self. He looked around and traipsed through some moss covered ground and slowly shifted back into his human self, caught his breath and steppe through to the last few trees and made his way over to where his trainer stood.

Pending!

@murphy - Hi, this is totally my fault! We had miscommunications in sorting and it was missed in the history that you have him successfully achieving his Animagi form while still in school! As a general rule, we don't allow anyone to succeed while still in school -- since the Marauders were an exception, not a rule! Still good to accept this, I just wanted to let you know that we're going to need to adjust when he was successful! Much thank you for understanding! If you want to send me a new paragraph or two to edit into his history, I can totally do that! Just let me know! Thanks!

Character Name: @sierra
Age: 36
Ability: Empath
Level Requesting: Expert
Why is this magical ability important to your character? She has built her entire life around this ability, though in subtle ways. It gives her insight in to her family, which she uses to try and help manage the overall emotional state of the group. Her career even reflects her abilities, however subtle that may be. She has made it her life's work to understand emotions, particularly focused on both love and depression.
How did your character learn this ability, if applicable? She was born with it. It's not something that can be learned, only attempted to be understood.
Any Additional Comments? She's about to just write a RP Sample featuring Michael, so we hope he doesn't care...
Have you read the rules? Yes, surprisingly.
Role-Playing Sample of your character using this ability:

fighting in a losing battle

I hold a match up to your paper castle

Sipping her tea as she waited for her brother, Sierra couldn’t help but worry. Out of all of them, she thought that she would always worry about Michael the most. She would worry that he wasn’t going to get the treatments that he needed. Emotions were a fickle thing, and she could feel when his were getting bad, or worse. Their parents dying had taken its toll. The state of the world as it was, was taking its toll. There was very little that she thought was going to make a difference either way. They had all been through too much to truly think that life was going to start being fair now.

She knew that her brother had had it worse than the rest of them. In a way, he had everything that he had never wanted. And she didn’t know what to do other than help him. Kallisto was helping him too, but their younger sister was just a child herself. Only five years older than Alexandria was. That seemed nearly impossible to her. That her baby was going to be a fifth-year next year. But she knew that it was true. She knew that Las would not do to their daughters what her father had done to her. But she expected far better behavior out of her children than her elder sister had demonstrated.

As she sat in the window of the coffee shop, Sierra was taking in the world around her. Her head was pounding, but that was normal. It had been months of this. Of never quite knowing if she was going to make it through the day without thinking that her head was going to explode. But she would never complain. Sierra did not complain about anything. She hadn’t since she was sixteen years old. That was the lsat time she had truly complained. There had been discussions with Lassider over the years. Russian flung back and forth with such vigor that those that did not know them would have thought that they were arguing.

They did not argue though. For as strong as Sierra had grown to be, she did not argue with him. Not truly. What he said went. And she knew that that was the proper example to set for Alexandria and Miriavetta. They needed her to be proper, and polished, and everything that she was supposed to be. Because if she wasn’t, then they were going to turn out no better than Donna, and they couldn’t have that. She would not have daughters that turned out like her sister.

A wave of comfort, and pure happiness washed over her, and the purity of the emotion caught her off guard. Sierra was unaccustomed to such positive emotions in her life, and it drew her eyes away from the window, and towards the depths of the shop. Scanning the faces of everyone that she came across, looking for the person that was feeling such pure joy. Her eyes landed on a little boy that couldn’t have been three yet, and she smiled warmly at him as his mother scooped him up onto her hip. A child made sense. Only a child would hold such pure, unsullied joy.

The door to the shop chimed again, and Sierra looked towards the door. The familiar emotional cocktail telling her that it was Michael that had just stepped into the vicinity. She knew her siblings, Michael and Kallisto anyway, over a distance. Their emotional signatures were distinct to her. She knew Donna’s as well, but her own emotions towards her sister had a tendency to drown out anything more than the strongest of Donna’s emotions.

Rising to her feet, the witch looked up at her little brother with a smirk as she stretched to kiss his cheek. “Hello, младший брат.” Sierra let her lips brush against his cheek as she took an emotional reading of him. He was always going to be the one that she checked first. In any situation, she worried about him. About how he was handling things. The good days, and the bad. She could take some of that away. In bits and pieces. Not enough for him to notice, but enough that he could find perhaps a moment’s peace. “I ordered your tea for you.” She nodded to the tray that was sitting on the table in front of her, two kinds of tea bags had been placed on it, one for each of them.
