@alek
Ophelia was happy to finally be heading home. The rain had really delayed her and she just wanted to get home and put her feet up. Well thankfully she had picked up some wine while she had been out getting groceries, so that was going to help a lot. And if she was as lucky, it would also help her sleep. In recent weeks, the only time she had slept well was when she had shagged Alek. If was evident to her that the wizard had worn her out but she was not about to tell him that and boost his ego unnecessarily. Her night with him had been plenty of fun but she wasn’t sure what was going on with them or with her.

Did she still have her job at Ollivanders? There was no telling when she would get her magic and that was impeding on her ability to make a decent want or make any wand at all really. Ophelia hated the feeling of being so useless. She knew it wasn’t completely the case but she wanted to feel needed. She could still go to Ollivanders and talk about wands and wandlore and nothing stopped her from selling wands. However, when it came to crafting those wands, she couldn’t do that any longer. It broke her. She didn’t want to be broken. Being able to create wands and have a purpose, had made her feel whole again. She no longer felt like that.

Ophelia understood she should be patient but it was hard when you saw others around who still were lucky to have their magic. It really begged the question, why was she so unfortunate to lose hers. It was widely known that there had been more people to lose their magic then keep it but still didn’t make it any easier.

Arriving at her building the brunette made her way upstairs to the fourth floor. Her hair was still damp and she knew she was going to head into her bathroom first and dry it. Then she would likely get started on making something to eat. She didn’t have anywhere else to go until the morning when she would head back to Ollivanders so she could take it easy. Maybe she would finally tackle the crossword from today’s paper.

When she got to her floor, Ophelia stopped in her tracks. ”Alek….what are you doing here?” she asked sounding surprised. She really wasn’t expecting to see the wizard here this evening. This was going to throw her plans for her quiet evening out the window but she would wait to what his answer was before making that conclusion.

I'ma tough cookie
not sure if you can figure me oit

Alek didn’t get hung up, he was a serial one night stand kind of bloke. He didn’t have a girlfriend ever, he didn’t date, he didn’t have anyone special on a holiday. It was a method that had worked well for years now, but he hadn’t realized how lonely that he had gotten until he had his date with Ophelia. There had been a connection there, and something that he could not name. It was something that he didn’t like and something that he questioned often. She was beautiful, and she was smart, she was not the kind that he usually went for. He liked the dumb airheads that were full of sparkles and rainbows, and iif you looked too close you can see the cracks in their veneers. He liked them a little broken, after all why else would they want to be around someone like him. He was a smart man, and a strong man, but he often worried that he was no longer a good man.

He had learned a little about the witch when they had their date but in the time since then he had not been able to get her from his mind and he was finding that he wanted to get to know her more, wanted to see her. He had been looking for her in the Griffin, and would jump any time a brunette walked through the doors, hoping that it was her. He knew that it was wrong, and that he could have come to see her any time, but he had no idea if he wanted to see him or not. Finally with Mason pushing him, he had gone to the shop to get the stuff to make his favorite pasta recipe (a favorite at the Griffin) and then set out towards Ophelia's apartment.

He had no idea if she would want to see him. She could have someone by now, and he could find her with a boyfriend there. The idea made him frown but he made the choice to keep going towards her place. He had talked to his brother Jed about it, and it as the first time in a while that they had talked, about anything of consequence really and she was the reason, he was not sure what that meant, but he liked it so he headed her way, but when he got there she wasn’t there. She wasn’t at home and he felt like he might have gone for no reason, but then, he texted his brother, and Jed suggested to wait a little while, so he waited, and was about to head home to make the food for himself since he was hungry when he saw her approaching.

He smiled and stood away from the wall that he had been leaning on before holding up the bag. ”I keep hoping that you would come into the Griffin so I could feed you something I love, but you haven’t, so I thought that I would bring the food to you.” A chuckle fell from his lips and he shrugged a little. He was trying to act like he didn’t care but he really just wanted to see her again.

Having a boyfriend or a husband was not something that Ophelia sought out actively. She knew having someone to come home to would be wonderful but she was not actively seeking it. If her parents, her mother especially was still here, she would no doubt push her to start dating could even go as far as setting her daughter up with some matches. Call her caraway but there were times that she was certain she could hear her mother in her head telling her to go talk to a bloke standing on his own in a shop or in the alley. Ophelia was not shy but she was not so confident to just go approach a guy like that. It was partly why she had gone on the blind date. The date had ended up better than she had expected.

But she would not read to much into it. He had told her where he worked and suggest she stop by for a visit but she had not made the trek to the bar as yet. She had not planned to stay away or maybe she had, she honestly wasn’t sure. But she had enjoyed her night with Alek. Waking up to him had been unexpected but they had both given into something, something which she couldn’t put her finger on. Ophelia didn’t make it a habit to sleep with the guy on the first date but she at the time she hadn’t been sure if she would be seeing him again or if she would have any dates with anyone else coming up, ever.

She did have time on her side to go out more and to meet new people but Ophelia spent much of it working on ways to construct wands without magic. Jacqueline would push her sister to go out more but Ophelia was stubborn and she didn’t want to get hurt anymore. She thought it was best she stay home. She knew it was likely pointless but the witch wanted to prove that it could be done. Sure, she knew the tools she would need to make it and all the shaving of the wood would have to be by hand but it was unfortunate she was unable to properly create a wand how they ought to be created.

She had had a regular day at work, there were hardly any dramas at Ollivander's as it was, and so she wanted to do nothing more than to curl up on her couch with some wine and read. Someone her age could easily go to a club or bar but she wanted to do the opposite. But she hadn’t expected Alek to be waiting at her door when she arrived home. And he remembered where she lived too? That did earn him some brownie points but she wasn’t going to tell him that.

"Oh….” she said smiling at him as she made her way closer to her front door. Ophelia’s eyes darted to the bag he held up before looking back at him. "Well, you can come in…” She smiled as she opened her door with her keys and walked in holding the door open and looking behind her as to invite him in.

Alek had never really thought about even ending up in a relationship, at least since his ex. He'd had no reason to want such a thing though, he got what he needed or what his body wanted without having to put himself at risk. Without putting his soul in danger. Of course this said nothing about his heart, or what it wanted. The half broken, half beating organ was naught but a nuisance that caused him pain and agony. Out of his siblings he was the one that had been hurt and judged for trying to give himself a life that he could be proud of, so he knew not what to do most of the time. Since he had lost Lissa he had not even bothered to let himself even hope for something. Instead had enjoyed this new person that he allowed people to think that he was. This person that everyone wanted him to be.

He didn't have to think this way, He didn't have to try and be something that he wasn't and it was refreshing. It made him feel like he was doing something right, like he could make a choice and not be what someone said just because it bothered them. He wasn't a saint, but he never said that he was and he never tried to be. The whole reason that Mason and Sam had even bothered to set him up on this date was because Alek kept trying to drag them out to do the antics that came to him. They wanted to do their own thing and that was fine. It was just fine that they didn't want anything to do with people, that they didn't want to party and would rather be at the gym or something else.

Alek could deal with them not wanting to go out and look for girls, they both tried to get over people in their own way, though Mason had no reason in hell to think about even judging him with how he was pining after his friend. There was something beautiful about the way that Mason always seemed to be so broken and it was fine. It was cool, really it was. He just didn't get why they had set him up. He had seen her, and he had not stopped smiling since then.

Women were like a drug to Alek and could be addicting if he was not careful. They could form a habit and make him change who he was, but this was still fresh if you could even call it that. He just wanted to see her again, he had wanted to see her smile and have her taste his mother's recipe was something that he was interested in. He always wanted to make people with food, because it was the one thing that he had left of his Mum. The one thing that he could always do no matter who the person was. He could always make sure that things were going his way, with his secret weapon of course. The cheesecake that his father swore was sent by the Gods to be a treat for them, and cream puffs that he had spent five years perfecting.

She invited him in and he gave her a large smile. "Oh, good. I brought some of my favorites that the Griffin makes and then a few of my specialties, because i thought you would like them. Not to mention that my inner chubby child likes them." He didn't talk about the past, or that he had been fat. He did everything to keep that weight off now, but it wasn't that hard as long as he didn't over indulge. He gave her a large smile and nodded his head. "Thanks, love."

There were times that Ophelia did stay away from dating. One of those times had been after she had needed it with her last serious relationship and with all that was involved, she had preferred to take a break from relationships. She had stuck by that practice until she had been out for Valentine’s night. That had ended pretty good on her scale of dates considering she and the bloke had hooked up. She knew he had proposed that she come by his restaurant. Ophelia had tossed up the idea in her head so much that she had ended up procrastinating. She knew that not every bloke had set out to hurt her, not like guys had hurt her in the past. She was a strong woman and smart as well and she was telling herself that she was being careful by staying away from the Griffin.

The woman was sure the place was nice and she knew that if the bloke knew she was there visiting, he would have come out and made sure she had a good time. She would appreciate that honestly. However, she was just cautious and she felt she had good reason for being that way.

Alek was nice and he was sweet and he appeared to be the caring type and that was something that Ophelia looked for in a partner. However, she wasn’t sure if she was ready for another relationship right now. They were permanent and maybe she would benefit from just having fun for the moment. She didn’t see any problem with that. She wasn’t bound by anything to get into a relationship and settle down. That was something she wanted, just not right now. She didn’t want to lead Alek down the wrong path if the two of them started to spend more time together. She didn’t want to hurt him, they had only spent one night together and she enjoyed her time with him and looked back on it fondly. It just going to be her call.

Ophelia just prioritised her work even if she had lost her magic. They had worked around her being sans magic. It was hard to be a wand marker if she didn’t have the one thing she needed to do her job. There was no instructions anywhere in the world on how to make a wand without magic. A wand was used by a witch or wizard to aid them in casting spells, mixing potions and travelling. She had been doing more customer service duties and it had been quiet because her busy period was normally summer rather than spring.

She had smiled upon seeing Alek at her even if his being there had come as a surprise to her. Ophelia was amused he remembered where she lived, though on the other hand, it didn’t surprise her either. ”That definitely sounds like quite a spread” SHe commented as she hung up her coat and ran her fingers through her hair and looked up at him. It was a mystery right now why he had gone to so much trouble for her. She lead him to her kitchen so he could set down the food he had brought over with him. ”I’m making myself a coffee, do you want one?” She asked wondering if needed a caffeine hit like she did.
