Kill, Torture, TerroriZE
Welcome to my Mind Terror comes in many forms
Sleep with one eye open You have no idea what I'm capable of

Date: 21 July 2017
Setting: Malfoy Manor
AU Synopsis: Honora Carmody has been transported to Malfoy Manor where she is to be the live-in maid for The Lord Lucius Malfoy. She has been left in the dungeons with no wand, bruised and bloody after being captured and brutalized by snatchers. The nightmare of her new reality has only just begun.

❖❖❖❖❖❖❖❖❖❖❖❖❖❖❖❖❖

Much change had occurred over the past months. Many wrongs had been set to right, and Lucius was pleased with the direction life was finally taking. He was back at the Ministry--and had been since October 2016. He had his family seat on the court; and, perhaps more notable and relevant to his day to day life, he was once again the Head of the Department of the Treasury.

Lands,  titles, and familial wealth had been restored. The purists were undoing all the wrongs that Durant had perpetrated against the noble and ancient families. Lucius was living back at Malfoy Manor, in the luxurious lifestyle he had always been accustomed to. Life was good. For the most part. He still found himself estranged from his son--and now his wife, as well. Narcissa had not returned to Wiltshire with him. She was, instead, residing in Scotland. He assumed the separation was temporary, but each night that he went to bed alone he grew to doubt this.

As such, he'd taken playthings to relieve himself with. Whores and prostitutes and the like- They were not his wife, but they were decidedly younger than her...and wasn't that better? He truly did not think so, but he would be damned before he admitted to missing or longing for Narcissa. His pride would not allow for that.

There were other ways to relieve his frustrations, too. With the mudbloods rounded up and subjugated, torture was commonplace and encouraged. And this delighted Lucius. He had always enjoyed the Dark Arts. To harm another gave him unmatched pleasure. It appeased wounds that were deep in him, left there by the punishments and chastisements he had received from Voldemort. The late Dark Lord might have found fault with him, but the new regime saw the potential and capabilities that Lucius possessed. He was given opportunities to further the purist agenda with his strengths instead of being sent of foolish wild goose chases. And his success in the matters that had been assigned to him had earned him a reward.

A reward that now lay unconscious in his dungeon. His son's mudblood--the one that Draco had threatened to ruin the Malfoy legacy by marrying--was his now. The slag had been caught trying to avoid the registration...and now, she would be broken. He would break her. He would erode her mind until there was nothing left of the woman his son had loved. She would scrub his floors and if he so wished it, lick his boots. The woman was not the same species as him in his mind. She was magic thief. She was scum and now she would live the life that she deserved serving him.

Her crumpled body lay awkwardly on the pile of straw that was to be her bed. This dark dank stone cell of his dungeon was to be her room. She did not deserve one of the bedrooms. She did not even deserve to cohabitate with the house elves. He wanted her to be reminded that she was a prisoner. If she was going to be useful in service of the Malfoy house, any old arrogance or pride in her would have to be done away with.

Today was the first on this journey of rebirth for Honora Carmody. Lucius raised his wand and pointed it at the mudblood.
"Rennervate," the incantation was enunciated clearly off his tongue. Magic flowed from the man's conduit to Honora's limp body, reversing the stunning spell that had put her into this unconscious state. The room around them was dim. He waited with a cruel smirk for her to wake and try to take in her surroundings. She would have no idea where she was. But she would know him, when her eyes adjusted to the darkness, when she could finally make out his handsome features, she would know him--and she would know that hell had come for her.

[break][break]
[attr="class","cbody"]Word of the registration had come, and Honora had known that she was not a child anymore. The last time around, she had been. She had still been in school and when Voldemort had come to power and her aunt and uncle had to make a decision on what they were going to do, they had told her parents that she could come with them. That it would be safer for her to be with them than a sitting duck waiting at home. And so that was what she had done. There was no other option back then. She’d just had to do whatever the adults thought was best for her.
[break][break]
This time around was different. She had to make her own choices. If she wanted to register, if she wanted to run—it was all up to her. It had not been an easy decision to make. That year on the run had not been easy when she was a child and she had no doubt that it would be just as difficult this go around. But in the end, she couldn’t imagine willingly turning herself into the Ministry. She couldn’t imagine watching as they snapped her wand and she could not imagine waking up every day to perform whatever demeaning tasks the Ministry had thought to assign her. In the end, she’d rather look over her shoulder every second of the day than life like that. At least she would be free.
[break][break]
Everything had been going all right for a while. She and her aunt and uncle had been managing just fine. Days on the run tended to blend together. Waking up, keeping an eye out, eating what little they’d rationed for the day, keeping an eye out some more. Sleep, watch duty, and then the morning would come again. There had been no reason for that day to have been any different than the rest. Until it was.
[break][break]
The pull from unconsciousness was slow. She stirred, and for a moment, everything that had happened in the past hours were far from her memory. She had been certain she would open her eyes in her tent, that it would be time for breakfast. It was her turn to cook, so she could let her aunt and uncle sleep a little—
[break][break]
With that, everything came back to her in a flash. Memories, so jumbled and confused… the Snatchers. Her uncle fighting them. The flash of green light, her aunt’s screams… Nora squeezed her eyes tighter still, willing the memories to stop, but they only kept going. Her aunt’s body hitting the floor, the feel of the Snatcher’s foot pressed into her back to keep her in the dirt. And then…
[break][break]
Nora banished the sound of fabric ripping and the feel of hands on her skin, she pushed it all away and focused on her breathing as she shifted again. She could feel an unfamiliar itch and a sharp poke of… was that hay… jabbing into her stomach, what was left of her shirt doing little to shield her from it. Where was she now? She knew that there was only one way to find out. She knew that she had to open her eyes and figure out where they had taken her and what her odds of escape her. Focusing on that—she needed to focus on that, and she needed to keep the other thoughts far from her mind. She couldn’t think about that. Not any of it. If she did, she’d fall apart and she couldn’t afford to do that right now.
[break][break]
Slowly, she let her eyes open. But at first, she could barely see anything at all. The room that she was in was dark. Other obvious conclusions to draw were how cold it was, and damp. Underground, most likely. That would explain it. A few more blinks and her vision adjusted further and it was only then she noticed there was someone else in the room. She was sitting and backing up in a flash, instinct wanting her as far away from this person as she possibly could be. Her back pressed to the cold stone of the wall behind her and it was really only in that moment she realized how much of her clothes had been torn away in the struggle. And it was in that moment that she realized just who was standing there. “Lucius…” The name fell from her lips before she could stop it. It wasn’t as if she had ever necessarily been on a first name basis with the man. But if she was in Lucius Malfoy’s dungeons… well then, this was so much worse than she thought.

❖❖❖❖❖❖❖❖❖❖❖❖❖❖❖❖❖

The Fates had truly smiled on him. He was restored to his proper station and title-- and now, this gift. Of all the mudbloods in the world, there was one who had sinned against him the most. One who was responsible for nearly destroying the Malfoy legacy. And now he had her. She belonged to him. She was property to use and abuse as he saw fit. The vile mudblood had no idea what she was in for. Lucius had only began to form the beginnings of his twisted plans for the hag in his dark mind.

She would learn pain. She would learn remorse. She would repent for every sin she had committed. Payment would be exacted from her flesh for the theft of magic and the intention to sully a great and noble house. The slag laying on his dungeon floor was Honora Carmody, but she would be no one when he was done with her. Everything that made her identity would be stripped away. Every scrap of independence and rebellion would be broken. She would become completely obedient and subservient to him. It was only a matter of time.

Lucius hoped she would fight it-- that it would take an age, because oh, how he would savor second of it. This sweet justice was his to enjoy. As she awoke, the animal dared to uttered his name. His given name was offered off her tongue, as if she was worthy to speak it. His vision flashed red as rage swelled up in him. How dare she?! The kick was swift, connecting the heel of his Italian leather loafers with her face. "Never speak my name, mudblood," the words were spit at her with disgust and aggression. He rubbed the sole of his shoe against the stone floor as if he was sure he had sullied it by the contact with her.

Hatred--pure and absolute--radiated from his eyes as he glared down at her. His voice was commanding and firm when he spoke again: "The Lord Malfoy or Master are the only ways for you to address me--" He glowered down his aristocratic nose at the woman, not seeing a human, but a disgusting animal there before him. How could his son have lain with this vile creature? How could Draco have been so misled? It made him question his son's very sanity. But it was fine. Eventually, he would show his unfortunate heir what had become of his former fiancee-- he would let Draco watch as she bowed to him, served him, perhaps even relished a parade of men making use of her body. It would be a fine day.

But such a day was still sometime off. They were only beginning. This was the time for the most basic of ground rules-- And the very top of that was that she should keep her mouth shut unless he wished it opened. His hard tone filled the dungeon cell again as he told her: "And even so, do not speak unless you are spoken to." It was a simple command-- Just as calling him by the titles he deserved were-- but Lucius had a very distinct feelings that the dumb animal was going to have a very difficult time with even the most basic of instructions. That brought a sinister, sadistic smile to his handsome features. He was truly a Devil reigning over his own private slice of Hell.

But I could scream without a sound

[break][break]
[attr="class","cbody"]The first registration had come when she had still been in Hogwarts, and she hadn’t been old enough to make a decision of what to do on her own. Her parents hadn’t been able to fully understand the gravity of what was happening either, so they had trusted her aunt and her uncle when they had made their decision. They were going on the run, and she would come with them. Fionn was coming with as well, so it wasn’t as if she would be entirely alone. Having her cousin around would certainly make it a little bit better—at least, she thought that had been the logic. She was unsure. Nora knew they’d considered leaving Fionn with her parents but, in the end, he had come along with them.
[break][break]
That time on the run had been difficult. It had been the hardest thing that she’d been through in her relatively short life, obviously. She’d never faced anything like that before. There had been prejudice at Hogwarts, but teenage bullying and being on the run for her life were two entirely different things. But they had made it through that. They had stayed safe and hidden until word had come that Voldemort had been killed and then she had been able to return to Hogwarts the next year. She had been able to try to return to her normal life. It had not been an easy thing to do, but she knew that it hadn’t really been easy on anybody. They had all struggled with it in different ways.
[break][break]
This time around, the choice of what to do had been hers to make and, in the end, she’d made the same choice that they had last time. She had been sure that it would be all right—she had not even thought it was a naïve line of thinking. They had remained safe on the run before, if they followed the same practices, they should be fine this go-around too. There had been no reason to think otherwise.
[break][break]
She had been proven wrong, and relatively quickly too. Nora wasn’t aware of the exact date. It wasn’t a necessary thing to keep track off while avoiding detection and taking everything day by day. But she definitely knew that it hadn’t been more than a month. And now, here she was… waking up in some dungeon, not entirely sure what had happened. Flashes of memories came back to her. Her uncle’s body hitting the ground, her aunt’s screams, the feeling of hands holding her down and the sound of fabric ripping. Even if the rest of those memories hadn’t come back, she didn’t need or want them to. What had happened next was, she was sure, exactly what she thought. She didn’t want to think about it.
[break][break]
And she couldn’t right now anyhow, with her survival instinct kicking in. Seeing Lucius Malfoy standing there was the worst-case scenario. If she had been in anyone else’s dungeon, she would just be a random Mudblood to torment. But she was much more than that to her former fiancé’s father.
[break][break]
A gasp of pain escaped her when his foot made impact with her face. The force of the blow was enough to send her head back against the ground, her vision going completely white as the pain overtook her. Her head throbbed as she felt blood pouring from her nose. Nora didn’t yet try to sit up again, instead staying where she was as she watched him warily. A dozen remarks came to mind at his words, with varying degrees of sass, and none that would please him at all. She needed to be smart about this. She had been awake for only a minute and even just saying his name had been enough for a swift kick to the face. She shouldn’t anger him more. Not if she could talk her way out of here—not if there was even the slightest chance of that happening. She had to be smart about this.
[break][break]
Yes, there was a registration. He was well within his rights to do what he pleased to her, but that didn’t mean there wasn’t a chance. Maybe she could appeal to him, somehow. There had to be something that she could say, something that she could do, to get him to see reason. “Please, just think about this… think about your son. He wouldn’t want you to do this.” She tasted iron in her mouth as she spoke. A small part of him had to care about that. She had to hope that she could get through to him somehow.
