[attr="class","cbody"]This was not somewhere that she ever thought that she would be. This was not a situation that she would ever think that she would find herself in. It wasn’t her. She was not this person. But as much as she told herself that, as much as she kept thinking it, here she was. Once again back in the bed of someone who was not her husband. She was a cheater. Somewhere along the line, that was what she had become.
[break][break]
And there was no stopping it now. She had said it time and time again. Hermione had told Draco that it was never going to happen again. She had said it after the first time it had happened, and the second. She had called it a moment of weakness and she had told herself that she was not going to risk her marriage over a second of excitement. She wasn’t going to risk everything because a part of her wondered why she had gotten married so quickly out of school, why she had rushed into something. She was not someone that rushed into anything. Even if she had been sorted into Gryffindor, she still considered herself to be a rational person, who generally speaking did not make impulsive decisions. At least, not unless someone’s life was in danger and it was an absolute necessity to just act. That was definitely something she’d done on occasion.
[break][break]
But she had never thought that she would look back and wonder why she had married so quickly. She had never thought that she would look back and wonder what might have happened if she had waited, if something else had happened. If anything else had happened. But she was—and she couldn’t deny that she had been, even before this situation with Draco had escalated.
[break][break]
Ever since then, it hadn’t been far from her mind. She had never thought that she would cheat. Hermione didn’t think that anybody ever really thought that of themselves until it happened. But still—this was not a situation that she had ever thought she would find herself in. Her husband thought that she was at work, and she was tangled in the sheets of Draco Malfoy’s bed. She wasn’t entirely sure where her clothes were even if she wanted to find them, and that certainly would require far too much movement anyway. Merlin, she didn’t want to move.
[break][break]
And she didn’t want to go home. That was the point that she had gotten to. Doubts had already been on her mind long before Draco but sleeping with him had really done the job in multiplying those concerns and making them louder. Being around him was exciting and being home was… not. She wasn’t challenged at home. Arguing with Draco was actually a challenge, because he was just as smart as she was—not that she would ever actually compliment him by saying such a thing out loud. Arguing with him was fun, because she didn’t have to back down. But then he could use that voice, or look at her a certain way, and she found herself wanting to yield to him completely. That was a good portion of the reason why her clothes were the first off, and why she didn’t have a clue where they even were at this point. A least a bit of them had likely been vanished.
[break][break]
She’d have to find them soon enough, though. She had to go home eventually, even if that wasn’t exactly what she wanted to be doing any time soon. Hermione wasn’t going to overstay her welcome here, and she knew that her husband would start to wonder where she was if she didn’t get back soon.
[break][break]
Sighing, she shifted onto her back, before glancing over at Draco. “That was the last time.” She wasn’t even sure if she meant it anymore, but the words fell from her lips anyway. This had to stop. Every time, she kept reminding herself that it had to stop. Yet, here she was—lying in bed, thinking about going home but not making any move to actually do that.
