He had been rather busy lately, and it was something that he sadly could not help. He didn't like it that much, not being able to do what he wanted, but he had a responsibility to The Griffin. His friends had been spending more and more time at their other jobs, or with their girlfriends. And though he could not fault them for it, because it was a lot for them to do (and to expect from them) so he usually let it go. He was the one who did all the work and they were usually silent partners, but he was getting tired of being the only one who did any of the work. He had a lot on his plate other than this and though he didn't quite have time for a lot of things that he liked to do, Alek was a big boy, and he knew what to make a priority.

Tonight though he had a date with Ophelia. He had not seen the beauty in a few days and he was longing to see her. It had been almost four months since they had been paired together and he was finding that he was growing rather fond of the pureblood witch. She was beautiful and smart, and even thinking about her brought a smile to his face. He was a vain man, that much was for sure, and he put a lot of time and thought into the things that he put on or in his body. He worked out a great deal, but he also took care of himself because he knew the health issues that ran in his family. He tried to take care of things that could hurt him before they did, and there wasn't much that he couldn't handle when it came to that kind of thing.

His Father and Step-Mother were itching to meet the woman, and he had plans to bring it up when they reached Chutney, but for now, he enjoyed putting his arm around his woman and walking down the street with her. His sister called him a moony-eyed fool because of how he looked when he spoke about her, but there was nothing that he could see that made that a bad thing. He cared about the woman that was his girlfriend. He didn't see a problem with it. Daphne thought he needed to put himself in check. This was the longest that he had been in a relationship since his ex-fiance, and she worried that he was getting into too much too fast. He understood, but their parents had been the same way. Well, their father and step-mother. He had no room to judge anyone for anything, and neither did Daphne really.

Pressing a soft kiss to Ophelia's head as they walked he smiled and his hand squeezed the shoulder that was on the side away from him. "Want to see a film after the movie? Or Ice cream and movie at my place?" His roommates had moved out and it left him with the large flat all to himself.

If there was one thing that Ophelia had constantly failed at, it was her being honest with herself. She knew that it was something she had to work on. Even with her now well into her twenties, she had to remind herself that she to work on it. It was still the case today. Most of the times centered around her and her relationships. Her relationships with her aunt and uncle and her cousins were fine, it was when she was more vulnerable and in romantic relationship that she had to just let herself be free and remind herself that there was no reason to hold back.

She had practiced that with Alek and she hoped that her being herself had not scared away the wizard. So far it had not been the case and that was a relief for her. It was the last thing she wanted to do. She liked it very much and was very fond of spending time with him. Sure, their meeting had been due to a blind date but that was the most conventional way to meet someone, especially not in times like this. She wondered just how far they would go.

But up until two days ago, she hadn’t needed to wander. She hadn’t been feeling very well for the past week and despite her being very religious when it came to taking her contraceptive potion, she had done the test. The test had come out with the result she had not expected, well maybe, she had half-expected it. Each time of them being intimate she knew the drill and the result of the tests had caught her by surprised. Not much had that kind of effect had that effect on Ophelia but they definitely had.

Wanting confirmation, she had had an appointment at Mungo’s earlier today just to be sure because she knew the accuracy of muggle pregnancy tests were not even a 100% percent. This was going to be a curveball. She only hoped that Alek would react favourably when she eventually told him the news. For most part of the date she had kept making sure she was being herself ad had not wandered off in her mind. She knew that she would be playing a loop of scenarios in her mind and that was not fair on Alek who was likely looking forward to a nice night out with her.

Hearing the wizard beside her ask her something snapped her mind back to the present. Right? What to do later tonight, she knew what she had to do but she thought maybe she could stall that. However, part of this whole new being honest with herself was something she had to do right now. ”I could always do some ice cream” She smiled up at him. It was not a genuine smile though. Because she didn’t know if she could handle ice cream right now. Her stomach well, she knew she felt like she would be battling morning sickness soon enough. The witch would just have to see how it went. ”Do you have any ice cream at home or do we need to pick up some?”

There was something about spending time with ophelia that just made him happy. Like a balm to a burn that was not visible to the eye. She was everything that he wanted to be around when he got done with a very long day of work and it made him so happy to see her and have her near like this. It had been four months. Four great months and he was looking forward to more and more time with her. He wanted her to meet his family, though he did worry about what Daphne would think. After all she was famous for her opinions in their family and for what she liked to tell people that she thought of them. it wasn't something he himself was too happy over it at times, but she was who she was. Bluntly honest and unapologetically so. It was one of her best qualities.

Alek wished that he was like his sister and unafraid to share his feelings when he had them, and wished that he was more open about the things that he wanted to say and do; but he was always afraid of losing someone, and he knew that if he kept that wall up, he would be able to just keep making it through and everything would be okay. He never claimed to be a smart man, or even a wise man, but he was one that could love with his whole heart when he wanted to, and this time he really wanted to. She was amazing and smart, and so beautiful that it took his breath away that she had even needed a blind date. He would sing the song of her praises for years to come, and would even give her his still beating heart should she ask for it.

She seemed a little distracted and he could not blame her for it. He wanted her there and present with him, but he would never want to upset her by saying something about it. He loved her, though he had not yet said it and he was sure that nights like this could be for the rest of his life, if things kept going this great that is. "I have some at home. and Gelato, and Ice cream bars, and even some sherbert I think. Mason's going through a breakup right now, and the guy just can't seem to help himself, so taking some of it off of his hands would not be a terrible idea.
