Then honestly i think i need a drink
Seeking advice
@ruby
It was all coming up so fast. Truly was more than half way through with her pregnancy and it felt like only yesterday when they found out. Jesse had felt pretty calm about that until recently. Finishing his NEWT prep had really got him thinking about what the hell he was supposed to be doing with his future now that he actually had a future to be planning for. He had been thinking of Truly, and their daughter coming soon, and all the things he had no idea that he would ever have in his life. It had set him off thinking about a lot of things, really. And thinking for Jesse was never a good thing.

It was how he ended up at Ruby's door, feeling a bit odd visiting without the intention of seeing his mate and instead seeing her. But he needed her. Specifically. Someone who...someone who would know better than anyone what Truly was going through because he sure as hell didn't. He didn't think he had ever seen a healthy relationship let alone how to behave in one. With Wrenley coming he sure has hell didn't know how to be a father, or what to even expect of one. Ruby... she had never been a father either, but she ought to know what someone would want out of a partner who was supposed to be one.

Jesse came up to the steps of his mates familiar home. He knocked softly, hoping not to wake any little ones inside.

Ruby had finally managed to get the twins down and she was shuffling around the kitchen trying to decide whether she wanted to go for a nice long bubble bath or get what little housework Walker had left finished before he got home from work. She was stacking up the clean plates and sliding them into the cupboards when she heard a gentle knock on the door, so gentle that Ruby wasn't even sure if she was hearing things or not. Whoever it was - if someone was at the door - clearly knew about the fact she had to small children and she was relieved that they took that into consideration. Swinging the cupboard door shut, she padded out of the kitchen and opened the front door, looking in surprise at the figure standing there.

"You know Walker is at work today, Jesse so you might be best coming back later." She said slowly, hoping not to sound rude. She'd had a few passing conversations with him because of her fiance and because of Ezekiel, but they'd never really sat down and chatted and for the first time she wondered why that was. "Is Truly okay?" Was the next sentence that crossed her lips though, she knew about the couple expecting and she hoped everything was going well for them. Although, Jesse looked far too relaxed for her to honestly believe something could be wrong with Truly.

@ruby
Jesse was about as confused about this situation as he was about anything else. Part of him thought that it might be a little odd visiting his mate's girl while he was off at work. Alone. In the middle of the day. Merlin, the more he thought on it the stranger it seemed to sound. Part of him thought he was being entirely ridiculous. He came from neighborhoods where knocking on front doors was something specifically reserved for police and where your mates house was as good as your own. Things weren't like that everywhere. In the wizarding world he had never really come across any sort of place like that, which he thought was odd. The closest thing to it was Kolna but with eight of them packed like bloody sardines in tiny flats who the hell was worried about knocking?

If anything his stay in Kolna had just further stripped him from the realm of cultural norms. It wasn't typical to walk into houses unannounced. Getting undressed in front of other people was something most people shied away from, but Merlin it hadn't bothered him in the least when Dion had sent that strange little healer to his house. For all Jesse cared he could walk stark naked through the streets and not give a damn unless it were a cold day. But he was getting better. He was acclimating all over again and he was recognizing the boundaries that had been take out from under his feet. Boundaries like knocking quietly when children might be asleep, or even fucking knocking at all. He was even recognizing the oddness of his visit, even before the redheaded woman had even answered the door.

"Right, I know he's at work I-- uh, I actually was hoping to talk to you 'bout somethin'. If that's alright?" He maybe should have even asked Walker if he was alright with it, now that he was thinking on it, but he hadn't. In a way he needed his mate not to know. He was hoping for honest answers out of Ruby if they did get to talking. Even if that meant being brutally honest about things she did or didn't like in his mate. If Walker didn't know then he wouldn't be able to ask her what she said and Jesse thought that was for the best. Giving her the option of telling him, that was. "Truly's doing great, really. She's kind of what I wanted to talk to you about..."
