Like waking up from a fantasy
and all that's left is you and me
We're invincible in a violet sea
Dare to move Dare to believe

He was done now. Really done. Sure, he didn't get to walk across a stage and get a diploma but he had graduated in his own sense. It wasn't something he thought he would ever do. Not since registration. Not since he was pulled from Hogwarts his sixth year. But he had done it. With her help and his determination, they had done it together. And now.... Now what?

Jesse had a vague idea. Hell, he had one hundred vague ideas of what he thought he might want to do. How he would do them. What he thought was best. He thought he could sit and categorize them or write pros and cons lists, but what he really needed to do was talk it out with his wife. Jesse beamed at her from his spot on the couch. Wife...he could hardly fucking believe it. "So I need your input," he insisted with a perk of his brow. "I'm trying to figure something out and you've got all the brains 'round here." His smile widened. It was the truth, as far as he was concerned. He didn't think he could have passed his exams had it not been for her helping him.

She was so proud of him. She was so proud of her husband. It was still weird to say that, to say that they were married and actually be able to brag that she got to spend the rest of her life with this amazing, sweet, impossible man. It had been a very long journey to this point in their lives. She could not imagine her life being any different though, she would have made every decision the same that had lead her this far if she had the chance to do so again.

Their lives had not been easy, and though things were getting better now, they would not always be so easy. There would be times when they would struggle, but they would find some way to make it work. They always would, because they did it together. Somehow though, everything that they had been through, from the get-go had been leading them to each other. They didn't understand the things that happened to them. They both lacked family, but they had found it in each other.

He was her happiness and he had given her so much, including the daughter that was growing in her womb. Their little Wrenley. She was so proud of them in general and days like today she was reminded of how hard the hormones could hit. She had been weepy a large section of the day and that wasn't likely to change. She needed a snack so she had gotten up from one of the books she was studying for being a Healer and went into the kitchen, made them sandwiches and came back. She was taking a bite when he spoke to her and she nodded her head to indicate that she was listening.

This wasn't a life he had ever imagined he would have. It was the life he had always wanted, but given everything that had happened in the last few years he didn't think it was rightly possible. Nothing with her should have ever been possible but they had made it so. When they had first become friends the odds were against them. She a Death Eaters daughter and him some lowlife muggleborn kid off the streets. How the two of them could ever be friends seemed impossible until they were. And then it seemed impossible that they would ever be anything more than that, until that day he got up the guts to ask her in the hall.

She could have said no to him then. She had someone else and he could have taken the hint that she was trying to give Luke the bennifit of the doubt. But he didn't. He had wanted her then, and now, and probably still would forever. Even through registration she had been more on his mind than even his own well being or safety. His love for her caused him to make stupid choices but also perfect ones that came in crystal clear. As long as he had her by his side he didn't think anything could really ever go any more wrong than it had been when they had started out. A Death Eaters daughter and a lowlife muggleborn kid off the streets both bound and determined to make it work.

So far they had made it through the hardest parts together, he figured. What could possibly be worse than what he had been through all ready? They had dug themselves up from the bottom and now that they were both standing on flat land they needed a plan. They needed it now more than ever with Wrenley growing steadily in her belly. He couldn't keep fighting forever and breaking the law, and he damn sure wasn't going to go back to the mines. Lord knows the dangers that he had already faced in those mines-- dangers that had brought him to Truly once before with a gashed arm. He was lucky it wasn't worse.

Jesse had completed his NEWTs and now he needed to figure out where that put him anymore. What he should do, what they should do given their step toward growing their little family. Jesse could hardly stop smiling knowing what he had now, even watching his wife being a weapy mess and a sandwich devouring machine. He knew that it was all for a bigger purpose and he needed to sort out what he could do for them.

"I've been thinkin' lately I might want to work at Mungo's eventually--" he had never expressed that sort of wish before. Honestly he had never held interest in medical anything. Hell, even now he wasn't interested in the surgical medical bullshit. "Y'know, I was thinkin' I might want to be a psychologist. Work up in Janus Thickey ward or something." Jesse's blue eyes searched for affirmation on the woman sitting by him.
