Lyra is a little smaller than average, standing at 5"5 and with a slender figure to match. She has long blonde hair and bright brown eyes that are always warm and welcoming. She's always seen with a smile despite everything she's gone through. Lyra is often seen wearing cute and comfortable outfits and never really makes much of a big effort to stand out in the crowd as she's always much more comfortable blending in and having little to no attention drawn to her.

Lyra had an relaxed childhood when she was younger, she always had a close bond with her mother and father, being a first born and finding it hard to conceive they treasured her dearly. Her parents always made sure she wanted for nothing, but taught to appreciate what she got, considering her family were not the richest.
Growing up, her parents ran their own veterinary clinic and she used to often help out with the general feeding and care of animals, often sitting in whilst her mother did checks over each animal; it was this that flared Lyra's adoration for the care and well being of animals which has become her favourite past time.
When Lyra was eight, her mother fell pregnant with what was soon to be her younger sister, unfortunately at this time though her father was drafted away to fight with the muggle army so the time with her father greatly deteriorated, seeing only every few years - if she's lucky.
It was when Aika was born that Lyra showed her first signs of magic. There was a particularly bouncy dog in the reception of the vets once and Aika was asleep in her moses basket, when the dog knocked the stand over. Before anyone could react the stand seemed to freeze in place and then straighten itself up, leaving Aika unharmed. No one present could explain it, much less Lyra considering she'd been thinking about freezing the stand in place. The magic kept showing every now and again, and the entire family were confused until she was eleven years old and received her letter to Hogwarts which is when everything began to make sense.
When Lyra started at Hogwarts, she quickly learnt that she wasn't exactly normal, even in the wizarding world. When she started to tell people that her parents were muggles, certain students began to treat her differently so she never really felt like she fit in. As she got older though she frequently went the extra mile to make the younger students feel welcome and content, making sure that she managed to help avoid them feeling like she did and how she wanted Aika to be when she started. Her last year was when her maternal streak really kicked in. Towards the end of her final year, there was an attack on the Potter children and during the panic, Lyra; despite her shyness stepped in to try and help keep some of the younger students calm (at the request of Caleb, who at the time was dealing with his prefect duties). That night was one of the longest nights Lyra could remember and it was when she truly realised that her blood status could mean trouble.
This newfound wariness continued until after her graduation and she briefly managed to forget her worries when she started at Lufkin, but that was soon shattered when the muggleborn registration began and she was forced to leave her studies and move into Kolna where she was given the dull job of grocery dispersal. That was often a struggle for her, having so much food in her care and not being able to have any of it and instead ration it amongst people like her. It was even more of a struggle when those of higher status used to summon her with groceries that could keep the muggleborns going for months.
After a few months, Lyra wasn't feeling hopeful about her future when her ex turned roommate managed to successfully flee the situation which filled her with a new confidence and after meeting up with a few kinder people, she learned of a safe place in France, a sanctuary and after a few more after dark meets up, they managed to successful get her out of Kolna and into what she hoped was going to be a fresh start. And that was what it was, once Lyra had settled in the sanctuary, she began to scout out muggle jobs, getting a parttime job in a muggle restaurant as a waitress where she began to save up money and after a few months of hiding in the sanctuary, she began to backpack around all of France. It was one particular trek in Calais that proved to change everything for Lyra.
During an evening stroll in Calais, Lyra crossed paths with @contessa and after a few nervous conversations, she soon found the woman not to be a threat and in fact after a small update about how things in England were, the older woman seemed to take Lyra under her wing and helped smuggle her back into England where she remained in hiding at Tessa's farmstead. Things were going well for Lyra and she was finally starting to get back into a sort of routine and feeling more relaxed when on a particular night she was brutally attacked by a rogue wolf and later discovered that she had been cursed with lycanthropy. Lyra was terrified at first but with some guidance and support from Tessa and her pack, Lyra managed to survive her first night as a wolf and over time has just accepted that now is a part of who she was.
Now that the muggleborn registration is over, after much deliberation Lyra has decided to reapply for university to study what was previously snatched from her. Even though she's still partially wrestling with the fact she's now a wolf, Lyra is determined not to let that dictate her life and to live her life as normally as she could. With the continued support of Tessa and her pack, Lyra has found herself a home to live where she feels safe and comfortable until she is ready to move out and reintroduce herself to the outside world, past just her studies.

Alicia attended a university in London, studying animal care an behaviours, her lifetime dream to become a good vet. It was when she was working in a small vet after moving back to the small town of Whitby she met Spencer who was bringing in his mother's jack russell terrier - something she remembers fondly because it was the first animal she helped on her own and her first time meeting Spencer. The two struck up a strong friendship, sharing a love of nature and animals and after two years of friendship they eventually started dating. It was another few years before the couple married and started trying for a child; unfortunately they both found it hard to conceive and saw Lyra as a blessing. It was the birth of Lyra that caused Alicia to leave her job at the vet and eventually start her own small, live in clinic where she could balance parenthood and her job. Spencer helped Alicia as best as he could, taking on the job of the her receptionist and animal handler, to save money. It was a few years later where Alicia found out she was pregnant again but unfortunately for her, she couldn't announce the news immediately to Spencer because it was at this time he was sent away to fight. The couple found it hard to manage, what with Spencer missing the pregnancy and birth of Aika, only being able to be there through phone calls. It became even harder when it was revealed that Lyra was a witch; the initial surprise of this becoming harder because they couldn't deal with it together, considering it was such a shock for them both because they had no idea of magic or its existence until Lyra. It was during Lyra's 6th year at school that Spencer was finally relinquished of his duties and so could return home and make up with lost time; even trying to get a friendship with Aika, who had never met him in person until he returned home. At eight years old, Aika is starting to show signs of being magic; luckily though Lyra and her parents are prepared.
