There were many people who questioned Claude’s dedication to his job simply because of how much time he spent flirting with either the female staff at the ministry or just any female in general. He just thought he could win them over easily and most of the time he managed just that. He thought it was a good flaw to have that he was so charming. But on the flip side, he also thought he was pretty darn good at being an Auror. It was a shame that now he had a new partner. He didn’t mind but they would never compare to Torryn.

He missed seeing her every day, well at work at least. He knew that he had other options to see her but still, she had moved on to working at St Mungo’s and he wanted her happy. Claude knew that she wanted to provide for herself and her daughter he commended her for it. She was really the only single mother he knew and he thought she was doing a terrific job,

He was running late to go over to her place for a drink but he hoped she hadn’t forgotten just how much paperwork they had to do in this department. Claude didn’t know how much paperwork she had to deal with at St Mungo’s but if it was less than him, then he was very jealous.

Claude would rather be out there catching the criminals then stuck at his desk with a quill sitting in his hand. He tried to recall if he had worked on a similar case the one before him. Turning around he started to shuffle through the filing cabinet that sat behind his desk. If had his magic still, he could just pull out the file or paper he needed that way, for the moment it was not the option.

Turning back around he heard a noise and he saw it coming from the entrance area of their department. Instinctively he ran his hand down his leg to where his wand sat strapped to his ankle. Not that he could do anything with it but the other person would be none-the-wiser about that. Claude relaxed a little as he was finally able to see the new arrival and he stood to greet them.”Hello there….is there something I can help you with?” Why would they be here so late….

After Hours
Open Up
Leaving the Ministry had not been easy, in fact it was anything but. She had made such a poitn with heer mother for the last seven years that she was not going to go back to being a healer, of any kind, and yet here she was. The only thing was, now there was no working with the living, all of her patients were dead and instead of finding out why they were sick, she found out what killed them. Most of her 'patients' were those involved in cases with the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, and it made her feel like she was still make a difference somehow. She had to think of herself and her kid though. She had been working for so long and with things with Greyson offically.... whatever they were, she had more to worry about and more to think about. Things were no longer easy. Things were no longer ever going to be simple, not that they ever were, really. She had so much that she had on her, and so many things that were her responsibility. Leaving her daughter all alone was not going to be one of them.

So she had made the choice to walk away, not from her responsibilities but from danger. She had to do this for herself. She did not know what the future held for Greyson, and though she would always love him she had already let him go. She had spent the better part of three years mourning his loss and now she was living her life without him. She could not blame him for the things that had happened, he had not chosen to get hurt, but she could not spend the rest of her life hoping that the pieces would click back into place and she would be just fine again.

Her long hair hung arounf her shoulders as she walked through the Ministry with her old department in mind. She wore a dress of a soft material and a grin on her face. A certain younger wizard and former partner of hers had been running late and she figured it was a case with paperwork that had been giving him fits. So, she had packed up the little meal that she had made for them, some of the booze and made a picnic out of it before heading to her old work place. Her friends would have called her a cougar if they knew the things that they got up to when she and and Claude were off duty, but she didn't care. She had spent so long hoping and wanting, waiting, for something that had never workd out, and now, here she was. Not putting a label on anything, but hoping for nothing more than the smile that he brought to her face.

She had been walking through the department, intending to surprising him when she had dropped her phone and the battery went sliding her a desk. Putting the things down she grabbed the pieces and put it back together before she stood and looked at Claude with a grin. Approaching, after grabbing the basket again, she smiled at him and moved to set things on the desk. "Hey. Thought I would bring things to you, since it was likely that you were busy with paperwork. "

Claude would much prefer to be out tonight rather than to be here and finish off his case before he headed out. The wizard had plans tonight and would rather be enjoying himself. But if he wanted to come in tomorrow to a clean slate then he ought to get all the work he could tonight before he left the ministry. He was supposed to see Torryn tonight. She had told him that Hunter was going to be with her parents for the night and they would have the place to themselves. He certainly enjoyed the time the of them spent together. They rarely wasted a moment. It just so happened that they no longer worked together and he thought there was some benefit to that. If they were still partners here then he would likely spend many hours in the day undressing her, if not physically at least he would be doing it in his head. He couldn’t help himself when he was around her. However, if Hunter was there then he would always give the toddler his full attention.

Not many people would think that the wizard liked children but he actually did. Maybe he was still a child himself, I’m some regard anyway. But he took his job very seriously. He also took history very seriously but not many people knew that. He wasn’t sure if Torryn even knew that and he wasn’t even sure if it mattered. Not many people would say he had a degree in the subject when they met him.

It didn’t matter to Claude though. For the most part, Claude had pushed his passion for history to the side and he focused on his role as an Auror. Though, there were moments that he had free where he would go visit a museum who had a new exhibition.

The man watched the woman as she moved across the room and he could see how stunning she really was. Normally, Claude would comment on her beauty in a moment of passion and he wondered if she believed him or not. Torryn could have easily thought he was just caught up in the moment. However, Claude had thought that she was beautiful even before they had started sleeping together.

They were lucky they were alone here in case they took things too far and they needed some privacy. Claude smiled at her as he walked over and held his hand out to her. ”Is your phone okay? No major damage I hope…” If it was damaged she would have to take it to a muggle shop to get fixed, but then again, she had her magic unlike himself. Claude leaned over and kissed her cheek before looking around kissing her softly. ”Why do you go to so much trouble for me, Tor?” he asked as he glanced over at the basket, wondering what goodies she had brought with her. She had had impeccable timing when she had walked in with food.
