Magical Object
Item Name: Fairy Dust
Item Appearance: Iridescent fine-grained powder
What It Does: A highly hallucinogenic drug, Fair Dust alters perception, thoughts, and feelings. Quick-acting and strong, the Fairy Dust can be taken plain for a high that dulls pain, mixed with powdered viper's-flesh for extreme hallucinations and highs, or ground with dried Arnica to produce terrors. Fairy dust is a highly addictive substance, and illegal in most countries. A staple in most crime dens, Fairy Dust is usually disguised with charcoal or pearl dust, which have little-to-no-impact on the substance's properties. Overexposure to Fairy Dust causes a slippage of sanity, skin discoloration that highly resembles the dust itself, and nail calcification.
A Brief History: It is unknown what Potioneer or Herbologist mixed up Fairy Dust, though it has been known to the general wixen world for the past two decades as a dangerous drug. Unscrupulous mages have made fortunes producing and selling the drug, and it is known to near-all Departments of Intoxicating Substances.
Rarity: Uncommon, unless you've got the money to pay for it, and the ability to keep it hidden
Any Additional Information: N/A

Spell
Spell Name: Secret-Keeping Spell
Spell Incantation and Wand Movements: Unknown, forgotten
What It Does: Prevents ideas being shared to 'unlike others'
A Brief History: The Secret-Keeping spell was an ancient ritual used to guard secrets in a way similar to the (relatively) more modern Fidelius Charm. Applied more to spells and potions than homes, however, the Secret-Keeping spell was a way to speak freely of rituals to others in a shared tribe or culture, without being able to share to others who did not belong. While rituals might be be overseen, the spell prevents rituals from being spoken about, written about, or drawn about to outsiders.
Any Additional Information: A victim of its own success-- the only remnants of the Secret-Keeping spell are the rituals it was used on. Variations have been found in practicers of tribal magic, old Dark Magic, and specific rituals, ensuring that certain practices stay in families or cultures. While it is possible to turn from an outsider to an insider and vice versa, the people brought in or cast out are held to the same standards as those who were born in.
One oddity is that while it holds against those born with natural legilmency, it does not hold against those who learned the mental art.
Relatively known about, and rituals wrapped in the spell are common enough in older families and/or older cultures.

Discipline
Discipline Name: Golem-making
Origin: Ashkenazi wixen
Theory: A mixture of Animating, Alchemy, Charms, Binding, and Warding
Sub-Disciplines: None
Rarity: Extremely rare though common within extremely small areas, a culture-limited practice. Among Jewish mages, the knowledge of how to create one is rare, mostly limited to mages of religious families who have been taught by sages. As an insider, it would not be uncommon to see mages struggling and studying the discipline, all while surrounded by golems. Common in Israel, fairly uncommon in New York City. The rituals involved in the creations of golems is practiced in secrecy to keep it from being overseen by those who might otherwise see it, a result of centuries-old paranoia.
Any Additional Information: Mages with the knowledge of how to make golems have been known to erase their own memories, destroy their minds, or kill themselves rather than share the secret in how to create them. This is not something shared with outsiders, as the making has been involved with the Secret-Keeping Spell from the beginning to ensure that the practice could not be shared with enemies, or found out by those who could turn to enemies. Golems have been formed for such menial tasks as washing dishes, cleaning, cooking, to more complicated tasks such as being protectors in whatever form that might take.
Golems are usually made to turn to sand when retired. To all intents and purposes, as well as great minds experimenting, golems simply seem to be humanoids formed of clays or stone with a few words or perhaps slips of paper into their mouths. All efforts to replicate golems by outsiders have been unsuccessful.

Morgaaaaan!!
I love you, please don't hate me, and I *swear* these have been narrowed down a lot.
I'll be posting by category so they can be worked through at whatever time they want to be. I know not all of them will/can be accepted, but they might give some other people ideas!

Discipline
Discipline Name: Fjaðrhamr
Origin: Scandinavia
Theory: Self-Transfiguration
Sub-Disciplines: None
Rarity: Extremely uncommon out of Scandinavian and/or Nordic countries. Quite uncommon among descendants, requiring years of study.
Any Additional Information: A phenomenon originating in Scandinavia, Fjaðrhamr literally translates as “feather form” and specifically refers to an ancient precursor practice to Animagism. Instead of seeking to find an animal form that resembled one’s personality in some respects, ancient Scandinavian wixes sought efficient and useful forms instead and so this method was developed. Instead of spending a long period learning to self-transfigure into an alternative form that bears resemblance to one’s personality, Fjaðrhamr used artefacts, often feathered cloaks, in order to allow one to grow close to the magical essence, so to speak, of an animal, and thus take on aspects of it. Early versions of this art caused one to utterly take on the bird’s form, while later ones permitted partial change, altering one’s arms into wings. These later ones in turn have begun a study into enchanted clothes, in order to create winged robes and jackets which might fly one a certain distance.

Fjaðrhamr is by no means an easy art, and though Animagism is heavily regulated it is generally considered to be a more precise art and, once mastered, less likely to go wrong. Fjaðrhamr on the other hand, even when mastered, may still have unfortunate side-effects. An improperly bespelled cloak may prevent one transforming one way or another, or may keep one only partially transformed until the spellwork can be undone. Additionally, too long spent transformed can affect the mind, and over-use of a singular feather-cloak to take a feather-form may begin to alter one’s personality to resemble that of the bird species in question - it was this point that led to the preference for Animagus forms, once Norse wixen learned of the art. Nonetheless, Fjaðrhamr is considered to be a unique magical art of Scandinavia, and a prized piece of cultural heritage. Perhaps surprisingly, the art continues to be used to this day: provided it is used sparingly it causes no long term harm, and being able to take a feather-form is valued by the various Scandinavian Auror Corps as much as Animagism is, especially for those few who are capable of both.

these are the snakes, there's a lot:

Magical Creature
Magical Creature Name: Jathinix
Physical Description: Janthinix can come in a myriad colours, depending on the matrix out of which the Janthinites grew but all, regardless, can end up seeming almost mummified if taken away from the crystals which birthed them. The exception to this is Janthinix which hatch from the geode-eggs laid by other Janthinix - which reproduce asexually via parthenogenesis, needing no mates - which never seem to wither or mummify, though the stone-skins they “shed” can seem to as the magic of the snake leaves them.
Disposition: XXXX.
A Brief History: A curious serpent found only in areas rich in magic, Janthinix serpents are hypnotic creatures with scales a similar colour to the stones of their habitat and bright, almost luminescently purple eyes. Believed to have manifested out of the magic stored in crystals, they are also sometimes called Geode Gorgites, as their mouths appear to be filled with crystals more than actual teeth. Regardless the bites of these snakes can be quite quite deadly, as their magic provides a mutating curse more than a venom, which cannot be treated with a bezoar or antitoxin, but must instead be treated as a curse, and can wither and desiccate veins in moments.

Largely found in deep caverns, Janthinix hatched from geodes are occasionally brought to the surface, though this is highly illegal. Any specimens found at the surface are immediately confiscated and taken to the relevant Department of Mysteries or equivalent, where the precise magic of these creatures is under a constant and on-going study.
Rarity: Quite uncommon, most specimens are obtained through the black marker.
Any Additional Information:

Magical Creature
Magical Creature Name: Iaret Snakes
Physical Description: Similar in size and shape to the Egyptian Cobra, or Asp, their ability to mould themselves into artwork - tattoos, statuary, jewellery - has long made them prized creatures to all.Naturally looking almost golden and of assorted precious and semi-precious materials, Iarets are prized by smugglers.
Disposition: High venomous, loyal.
A Brief History: Small Iarets would often be asked to rest still on a Pharaoh’s crown by a Parselmouth priest or priestess. Iarets are highly venomous, a trait which has allowed them to kill many who threatened Pharaohs and others who interacted with them in the past. Indeed wixes attribute Cleopatra’s death not to a smuggle- in asp, but to the iaret on her crown, asked by the trapped witch to help her die, that she not be dragged through Rome in chains and defeat.
Rarity: Uncommon in Egypt, rare outside. Usually found with wealthy families outside of native ranges, magizoologists, or in zoos.
Any Additional Information: Iaret Venom is one of the most potent in the world, and Parselmouths with a Iaret loyal to them are expected by most Ministries to register themselves, and the serpent which has claimed them for their own, should a case of death by Iaret bite occur. Occasionally an Egyptian wix may have a core of magically crystallised Iaret venom in their wand, though this is unusual, and usually makes for a potent, yet incredibly loyal, wand.
Mascots of the Akhmim Iarets.

Magical Creature
Magical Creature Name: Verdicobra
Physical Description: In the summer Verdicobras are known to throw of the oxidation on their scales, becoming bright, coppery snakes, which use how their scales reflect light in their mating dances. Usually the snakes lay their eggs in semi-submerged burrows, and tend them until they hatch, and sometimes for a week after hatching. However after this point the hatchlings are expected to care for themselves, and tend to rapidly turn the same green-blue verdigris as the adult specimens around this point.
Disposition: XXXX.
A Brief History: Varies by country.
Rarity: Found in highland lochs and mountain lakes, verdicobras have been found throughout Europe, South America, and Central Africa, for all of their rarity.
Any Additional Information: Verdicobra has a dangerous bite which can over-oxygenate one’s blood, causing the bitten individual to swell up and turn purple. This is done by a similar way to the verdigrised appearance of the snake, by the venom magically increasing the rate at which the copper and iron in one’s blood is oxygenated. However this is not it’s most magical trait, merely the most deadly and dangerous, for all the venom is used (in dilute quantities) in magical asthma medications.

Magical Creature
Magical Creature Name: Pricelstryke
Physical Description: Bizarre dragon-mimicking and highly venomous snakes, Pricelstrykes are found throughout the Mediterranean and North Africa, with some unusual specimens found further north. Despite huge variance in appearance, Pricelstrykes can and do interbreed, suggesting no significant difference beyond the aesthetic. Pricelstrykes are usually around six inches long upon hatching from gold-veined eggs, with smooth heads, and rapidly grow to a foot in length as well as developing the draconic facial structure the species is known for. After that, their rate of growth slows, but especially old specimens have been known to reach three feet, with the longest known specimen being a five and a half foot long specimen.
Disposition: XXX.
A Brief History: Well-beloved by clothiers and Alchemists alike, Pricelstrykes are prized and have been for centuries. Their existence is best-documented in Alchemial books.
Rarity: Uncommon, found mostly in the Mediterranean and North African areas.
Any Additional Information: Pricelstrykes, no matter their size, are often shockingly fast and strong, and their hides are resistant to magic. As a result, skins shed by domestic specimens are often sold to clothiers, who can cure the shed skin effectively and use it in making spell-resistant clothes. Further, though highly venomous their venom can, when gaseous be used to help prevent pests from attacking plants; thus it is often collected and sold to Potioneers, who use it to make magical pesticides. Lastly, the eggs of Pricelstrykes are often veined with gold and no one knows why or how. It does appear to be genuine gold, but the creatures eat barely any. The popular theory goes that some part of their digestive tract contains an alchemical interface permitting such transformation of ordinary materials into something else. Regardless, Pricelstryke eggs have become illegal to own, unless one is a licensed breeder (itself a rarity due to how venomous they are) due to the risk that such obsessive egg collection may endanger the creatures.

Magical Creature
Magical Creature Name: European Wyvern Asps
Physical Description: Upon hatching, offspring look nigh-identical to mundane adders, before turning purple-brown at around sixth months after which they rapidly develop their signature wings and distinct colouration.Wyvern Asps are known to be dramatically coloured no matter the season, and can vary considerably from one another - even from family. Once it was thought that their colour spoke to their type of venom - it certainly did not act as camouflage - but recent studies have shown that colouration instead more reliably speaks to their preferred diet and habitat, albeit in somewhat counter-intuitive ways. Blue Wyvern Asps often prefer marshy areas and low-magic diets, while greens seek coastal areas and fishy food, browns hilly scrubland and birds and reds deep forest and high-magic diets.

Unsurprisingly, rearing these creatures is often something of a pain, as even offspring of two reds may end up browns, greens or blues and require drastically different keeping and food.
Disposition: Solitary and highly venomous creatures, who meet only to mate. XXXXX
A Brief History: n/a?
Rarity: Found throughout Europe.
Any Additional Information: It is often very lucrative to care for the EWA: their venom and blood are both highly useful not just in antivenoms but also in a number of healing potions and certain magical cosmetics.

Magical Creature
Magical Creature Name: Chaincoil
Physical Description: Though thick-bodied snakes that seem to be covered in sheets of metal and chains, Chaincoils are strangely light and easily wearable around the neck and shoulders. Most common in rust, deep grey, black, and gunmetal grey, Chaincoils are usually some combination of the colors, rarely consistent throughout.
Disposition: XXX.
A Brief History:Magical snakes known for absorbing large amounts of metal into their systems, Chaincoils are generally thought to be constricting cousins to Verdicobras, perhaps he result of the metallic snakes crossing with an artificial snake such as a Viren. Quite when they developed is unknown.
Rarity: Rare outside of Central and South America, uncommon within.
Any Additional Information: Both the shed hides - when specially treated - and the snakes themselves are capable of rebounding any spells which hit them, due to their high metal content, while retaining high levels of flexibility and being relatively lightweight. Quite how Chaincoils manage this unknown, but it is believed to be a kind of natural alchemy, where the snakes’ innate magic allows them to bond the metal to their bodies in ways otherwise impossible.

Chaincoils, being partially artificial in origin, seem to show an affinity for wixes. Highly loyal to people they claim as theirs, they can grow to huge lengths, with many mature specimens ten metres or more. In such cases they often either coil around their wix like a living scarf or shawl, or their wix waits for shedding, and preserves the skin using certain alchemical compounds in order have it turned into a coat or a robe lining. Chaincoil hide is unique amongst most defensive hides (such as Dragon and Basilisk) in that it takes exceptionally well to enchantment, if done by the snake’s master or someone the snake trusts.

Magical Creature
Magical Creature Name: Falak
Physical Description:Falak generally keep to themselves and most do not grow more than a yard or two in length. Preying happily on whatever food they can hunt they breed rarely, producing nests of five to ten eggs, of which 80% usually hatch and 40% survive to adulthood.
Disposition: Falak are not terribly talkative serpents, and those which do speak have been noted to seem “jittery or nervous, y’know?” though its never specified why. Most magizoologists believe that this is simply a breed trait, rather like the paranoia of Knarls, though this is uncertain. XXXX.
A Brief History:A curious magical serpent from the Middle East, these serpents are very dangerous but, thankfully, generally stay in the tunnels they dig out of the earth. Not terribly large, they are nonetheless capable of growing to huge size if given enough food and water. The wixen versions of One Thousand and One Nights say that a truly huge Falak lives beneath the Earth’s crust, only refraining from devouring everything out of fear of the divine. While this myth is widely disregarded by most European and American magizoologists it is worth noting that Falak are evolutionary cousins to Magma Pythons and do have an immunity to flames as well as being well able to withstand great amounts of heat.
Rarity: Uncommon.
Any Additional Information:

Magical Creature
Magical Creature Name: Viren snake
Physical Description: A small hooded green snake with thick smooth scales.
Disposition: Intensely loyal to bonded children, intelligent. XXXX
A Brief History: A magical creation, created using Mandrake leaves, Heartfruit vines and an unsouled Serpent Homunculus, the Viren Snake is one which is, surprisingly, harmless. Usually created by concerned parents though the Viren Snake can produce venom once hatched a bonded to a wix, it will only use its paralysing venom in defence of their wix. Viren snakes bonds are near-impossible to break, and once they have been given a taste of the blood and skin of the wix they were made for their loyalty is unbreakable, only dissolving with their eventual death.
Rarity: Rare, usually found with wealthy children who have influential families.
Any Additional Information: Viren Snakes are great companions for lonely children, able to comprehend most human speech, and move the vine-hoods of their heads in a hypnotic manner, usually used to help their wix soothe to sleep, but also to hypnotise those that might do their wix harm. Highly illegal, due to the illegality of Heartfruit, some few ministries do allow the creation of Viren Snakes under carefully monitored circumstances. All wixen children with a Viren Snake are registered with the ICW until they turn seventeen - the point at which the snake naturally dissolves.

Magical Creature
Magical Creature Name: Cerastes
Physical Description: An incredibly flexible serpent, Cerastae are subtle hunters, which primarily finds prey by camouflaging itself as prey itself. Able to coil itself back on itself with surprising ease, Cerastae have unusual spines and ribs, aided by a magic somewhat similar to that of Phantom Rats (it’s preferred prey) which allows it to fold on over itself and even through itself. During mating season Cerastae develop hornlike protrusions around their faces - ramlike on the males and four pairs of small spiky horns on the females, with intersex specimens having (usually) a mixture of both, though some have been seen with utterly unique configurations.
Disposition: Intelligent. XXXX
A Brief History: Most usually Cerastae feed on small birds and rodents, with a particular interest in Phantom Rats and Glisterbirds, though they will happily eat most animals that are of a size they can swallow. Cerastae are found throughout southern Europe and North Africa, and are relatively popular pets with Parselmouths in these areas, considered to be intelligent enough and surprisingly loyal. In addition to these traits their bizarre New World adaptation - a tailtip very similar to that of rattlesnakes - means the creature is well able to warn off those who might get too close, making it harder for those with prejudices against Parselmouths to accuse them of not providing suitable warning of their snake’s presence, though it has not helped with accusations of assassination attempts, even though Cerastae are not venomous.
Rarity: Uncommon.
Any Additional Information:

Magical Creature
Magical Creature Name: Kebehwet
Physical Description: A cool blue-grey tinted viper.
Disposition: X, the fangs are technically there. There have been no recorded Kehbehwet bites that have not been in complete self-defense.
A Brief History: A magical serpent found in the Nile of Egypt, Kebehwets are, despite their viper-like appearance, non-venomous, and have been known to wrap around the limbs of those injured or dying, to soothe their pain. This is allowed by way of the cool nature of Kebehwet skin, and by their curious ability to seep water when they wish too. Giving out too much water does weaken the creatures - it is all from water they have consumed - but sometimes they will let out some little water, when they wish to heal.

Generally Kebehwets live peacefully in the Nile, avoiding most creatures which might prey on them and usually also avoiding water. More than able to stay submerged for long hours, and often keeping to the reeds Kebehwets are rarely spotted, even by those magically inclined. Usually when they do wish to expose themselves it is for their own soothing properties, being curiously kind-hearted creatures, which much belies the usual beliefs regarding serpents. Indeed they are quite popular with Parselmouths for their peaceful nature, as their being completely non-threatening often eases those wary of those able to speak to snakes.
Rarity: Uncommon in Egypt thanks to the difficulty of being found. Rare outside, usually with magizoologists or wealthy Healers.
Any Additional Information: TORI THIS IS ONE OF THEM

Magical Creature
Magical Creature Name: Heartsnake / Corluber cordis
Physical Description:Pale little magical snakes, Heartsnakes hatch from translucent eggs looking rather like albino cobras before developing into cream, pale-speckled, or pink pythonlike forms.
Disposition:
A Brief History: Bizarre and beautiful creatures, Heartsnakes are one of an increasing number of recent developments in medical magic. While various spells have been developed by Indian and Near Eastern wixes, the Heartsnake was purportedly developed in accordance with secret diaries of the ancient wix Asclepius, a known Healer and Parselmouth, recorded in muggle records as the son of Zeus and a god in his own right. They can be swallowed by wixes suffering from any kind of heart disease - Heartsfail, Hearteater, Cor Cordis, Heart-Fragmenting Curse, even diseases and spells which affect the heart as a consequence of their main effect, such as the Hela Wasting Curse. Once swallowed, the Heartsnake will chew its way towards the heart, secreting healing slime in its wake to seal up any damage it causes, before alighting on the heart, wrapping around it, and devouring it while taking its place.

At first the sensation is described as a shortness of breath and a squeezing sensation in the chest, within hours though, these symptoms - and any from the disease or curse - have eased as the snake takes it’s place in the wix. Parselmouth healers can even communicate with the creature, checking for any signs of further internal damage and to know if the Heartsnake might need extraction and replacement - though they rarely do.

Heartsnakes were developed by an international group of experimental Healers working in concert with several Departments of Mysteries and equivalents, by breeding together a number of magical snakes. The healing Kebehwet was a key factor, while other aspects purportedly came from creatures such as the alchemical Viren Snake and the Cerastes, which can fold through itself. In these ways more malicious tendencies were tempered, and dangerous aspects were transformed into the healing secretions and sealing secretions which allow the snake, once folded and shaped, to replicate the chambers and vessels of the heart perfectly.
Rarity: Found only in hospitals, and the homes of highly-regarded and wealthy Healers.
Any Additional Information: THE SECOND. *linked to the three snakes directly above*

Magical Creature
Magical Creature Name: Lamia
Physical Description: Lamia snakes are known for their incredible beauty and ferocity. Their scales tend to be dark - usually green, blue, or almost black within these shades - and often slightly iridescent. It is believed their skin may even have slight entrancing magics in it, akin to Veela magic, as it is often hard to look away from the movement of a Lamia snake.
Disposition: Relatively easy to domesticate. Often very vain, as snakes go, Lamias are some of the more social breeds of magical snake, and are known to be cousins to mundane cobras. Similarly venomous to the Cobra, their venom has a slight entrancing influence, like their scales, and can cause people to be easily influenced by patterns or movements. XXX
A Brief History:Native to Southern Africa, they are known to share their territory with Boomslangs, although transplanted populations in Greece have likewise found ways to share territory with local snakes.

Relatively easy to domesticate, as serpents go, Lamia snakes are restricted creatures, and must be milked daily for their owner to retain their license. Lamia venom is often sold to Apothecaries, provided they have the required license, and can be used in more soothing variants of Elixir of Euphoria. Lamia skin, and the scales thereon have been used in wands before, and are usually excellent at soothing and entrancing magics, leading to them often ending up in the hands of therapists, counsellors, wixen mind healers and wixes who master glamour spells.
Rarity: Uncommon
Any Additional Information: TORI, THE LAMIA. THIRD AND LAST

Magical Creature
Magical Creature Name: Dipsa
Physical Description: Immensely small black snake, only the the largest reaching a eight centimeters, Dipsa snakes have extremely venomous fangs.
Disposition: Its tiny size not only makes it easy to hide, but the high toxicity of its venom, and the painlessness of its bite means that it is almost impossible to notice someone has been bitten and to get them the antivenom in time. Despite this Dipsa are among the most pleasant and calm magical serpents to exist and, generally, are considered to make excellent pets, though they must be milked daily of their venom, lest the Ministry confiscate the creature. XXXX
A Brief History: Dipsa venom has been used in many purgative potions before, as it is highly effective, although Dipsa venom is never sold on the open market, but rather through the relevant magical Ministry, or equivalent institution, with a portion of the profit going to the relevant institution (usually funnelled directly into the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures, or equivalent), and a portion of profit going to the snakes owner. The venom is only permitted to be bought by medical institutions, and there are numerous magical and non-magical barriers in place to ensure only magical hospitals, clinics and health centres can purchase the dangerous venom.
Rarity: Uncommon
Any Additional Information: LOOK AT THE GIF

Magical Creature
Magical Creature Name: Magma Python
Physical Description: The Magma Python has jewel-like eyes that are visible even as they sleep as their eyelids are in fact a layer of silica. Their nictitating membrane however is much like normal serpents.
Disposition: XXX.
A Brief History:Believed to be an African variant of Ashwinder, the Magma Python was first found by colonial at Mount Cameroon (the taller peak also called Fako, the volcano also called Mongo ma Ndemi) in the country of Cameroon. While usually it keeps its body temperature low enough that it does not burn plants it can and will cook food it constricts around, simply by its sheer body heat, making the snake popular for those in countries with cold winters.
Rarity: Relatively common, for snakes. More Magma pythons are bred in captivity than exist in the wild.
Any Additional Information:Ribs from Magma Pythons are much prized in Cameroon, as wand cores to sell abroad and as protective charms, and one wix of Cameroon makes enough money to support their entire village from selling dead Magma Pythons.
Commonly purchased and used in cold countries. @remnikovs

Magical Creature
Magical Creature Name: Icelandic Magmacrest
Physical Description: The eggs of Magmacrests are obsidian in appearance, with the foetal dragonet visible within as a shadowing shape, while hatchlings are a very pale pumice colour for about the first week. After this week they develop gradations of colour over their backs, rather like the rainbows of colour pumice can turn as it cools at different temperatures. As they age they darken in colour, from pumice, through basalt, to obsidian, with fully mature specimens developing brightly glowing, lava-orange markings around the edges and undersides of their scales, which are brightly shown during threat-displays. To muggles and even wixes this can look like a sudden lava flow, prompting them to flee, and leaving the dragons alone.
Disposition: XXXXX. Sociable in a cat-like way to other Magmacrests, dangerous to humans and animals.[be]A Brief History: Often mistaken for lavaflow at a distance, Icelandic Magmacrests were known only to Icelandic mages for several centuries. Magmacrests only became known to general wixen public outside of Nordic countries in the 1800s.
Rarity: Found on Iceland, though certain Faroese Mazvettas have been known to carry Magmacrest in their genetic line.
Any Additional Information:A small dragon, found only on Iceland, the Magmacrest is known to incubate it’s eggs using the heat from Geysers and Volcanoes. Generally sociable in the manner of cats, the creatures usually mark out individual territories in extinct or dormant volcanoes, or in lava tubes, into which they carve their own tunnels and dens, by superheating and reshaping the rock with their breath and paws respectively. Individual tube sections appear to be considered almost private territory by Magmacrests, and entering the space without some significant indication of acceptance by the dragon in question is highly dangerous, while volcanic craters and natural lava tubes are considered open territory, where the dragons will socialise, travel in order to hunt, and seek mates.

Recent attempts by more adventurous dragonologists to study this particular breed have shown that, when given the opportunity, Magmacrests enjoy swimming in lava, but usually only briefly. This appears to be for two reasons: the first that they are likely to overheat if they remain in or near the lava too long, and the second that upon emerging from the lava they only have so long to remove it before it hardens, trapping them in a stony shell. Despite this, Magmacrests are fairly populous, feeding on bats, sheep, and occasionally Icelandic horses, being not particularly large themselves.

Magical Creature
Magical Creature Name: Dracoform Boggart
Physical Description: Unknown, as the Dracoform shifts shapes.
Disposition: XXXXX, for the company that it is found with.
A Brief History: The Dracoform Boggart is a peculiar creature, whose exact origins are unknown. Despite being called a Boggart, there is little to suggest that it is related to Boggarts, as there is no evidence to suggest they feed off of fear in any way. Instead, the creature is named after its shifting ability. The true appearance of the Dracoform Boggart is unknown, instead it seems to shift from one draconic shape to the next, usually matching to local species, though some have demonstrated a preferred form, which they will keep even as they move to new environments.

While dragons are the favorite shape of the Dracoform Boggart, it is not uncommon to see them shift into other snake or serpent monsters, even transforming into Basilisks or Cockatrices. Some have even become Occamies, and a rather peculiar specimen was observed transforming into a Phoenix, before changing into a Hungarian Horntail. Some have taken this transformation to hypothesise that Phoenixes and other Firebirds may in fact be related to dragons, but there is little evidence outside of this single event.

Due to its questionable connection to the Boggart, some have proposed dropping this part of the name entirely, in favour of calling the creature a Dracoform and nothing more.
Rarity: Rare, though found alongside the creatures it transforms into.
Any Additional Information: In the bloodline of the Faroese Mazvetta, and often found in hybrid dragons.

Magical Creature
Magical Creature Name: Alchemised Dragon
Physical Description: A patchwork of dragons, usually with multiple heads, or far more than six limbs.
Disposition: XXXXX. Cannibalistic, hungry, and in near-constant pain.
A Brief History: Considered an incredibly Dark process, Alchemised Dragons are created by bonding together the corpses of dragons into one body. The resultant creatures do not always have multiple heads, arms and tails, but the most well known specimens do, if only for the sheer terror and horror they caused when they were found. Quite how the dragon bodies for these specimens were found is debated - some believe they were bought on the blackmarket, while others believe they were bred while others still believe they were poached. Regardless, the existence of these creatures is something which consistently mortifies and horrifies those involved in Dragon Conservation.
Rarity: Rare, for good reasons. Usually created by Dark mages.
Any Additional Information: The creatures can eat through any of their mouths, if they have been made properly, and can usually survive quite well on their own. Often cannibals, they will eat any large reptiles or predators in their vicinity if they are not properly maintained by their maker. Even to their maker, however, they can be dangerous, and a number of these creatures have come to light after killing their makers. Most usually the creatures are trapped and killed by large groups of Aurors and Dragon Handlers, but on some occasions they have instead been hustled off to various Departments of Mysteries and their equivalents, for further study.

Magical Creature
Magical Creature Name: Girtablilu, also called the Luring Scorpion, Aqrabuamelu, and, rarely “Children of Campe”
Physical Description: large scorpionoid creatures with human-like foreparts which they use to lure in prey.
Disposition: Unsurprisingly they are feared by many and while they can be approached and entreated for aid, their tendency towards deadliness and the mutual animosity between wixes and Girtablilu mean such alliances almost always soon sour. XXXXX
A Brief History: Girtablilu can be quite kindly and conversational, if correctly approached, but are often considered to be far too intimidating. On some rare occasions the magical Ministries of the Near East and Egypt have been known to hire Girtablilu fighters to increase security in certain areas, but their uniquely obvious appearance makes their employment around muggles unwise.

Girtablilu are incredibly long lived, and have a fascinatingly long oral history, and much of the early magical culture in Mesopotamia, making them great repertoires of knowledge. However due to the Girtablilu’s aforementioned tendency to seem highly intimidating, they are not often approached to ask for help in recording such information.
Rarity: Uncommon, usually staying in native ranges of the Middle East and North Africa
Any Additional Information: Capable of human speech, though they possess a language of their own. Girtablilu tend to make their homes in mountains or abandoned settlements, and much prefer to be alone. On rare occasions they will take companionship, and work well in twos and threes, making fantastic group fighters.

Used in Gordāfarīd Shehzad’s attack against the school in the Karakum desert.

Magical Creature
Magical Creature Name: Gehl Salamander
Physical Description: Curious golden salamanders much loved as prey, these creatures are often kept by Alchemists due to their incredible ability to alchemise base metals in their diet into the gold of their skin and the golden slime they produce.
Disposition: Curious, playful. XX
A Brief History: Gelh Salamanders are aboreal creatures, spending most of their lives in trees, only occasionally descending to soak themselves and remain hydrated. As descending carries with it the risk of being eaten by a Gorgopódaro or several, most Gelhs will wait for a quiet period or even nighttime before descending, and will further wait as long as possible in hope of rain.

Gelh Salamanders are - and have been for a long time - under close study by Goblins and Alchemists of various species due to their incredible ability to alchemise a certain portion of their diet into the gold of their skin and the gold particles in the slime they produce. Quite why they do this is unknown - it makes them terribly noticeable and thus easy for predators to target - and yet they continue to do it. Some have speculated that they were bred in order to do this. However, there are gaps enough in the record that this remains uncertain.
Rarity: Uncommon, found mostly with magizoologists, in goblin-held banks, or in the offices of Alchemists.
Any Additional Information: The Hogwarts Alchemy club have several. Younger members take care of them. Easy for registered Alchemists to have.

Magical Creature
Magical Creature Name: Lanugo
Physical Description:Tiny, giraffe like creatures found in New Zealand and known for their incredibly soft and silky fur, which is sometimes used in robemaking, and especially on gloves,. Lanugos are not terribly large creatures, not much larger than the average housecat, but they have an incredible turn of speed and their hand-like feet allows them to climb much more nimbly than one might expect, which is a large part of how they have survived the introduction of new (and ofttimes invasive) species that came with colonisation.
Disposition:Friendly, nimble, playful. XX
A Brief History: Some believe, looking at Lanugos, that they may be related to Eohippus, the dawn horse, from which modern horses evolved, but instead taking a much more divergent path in isolation in New Zealand.
Lanugos are foragers, eating any grasses, leaves and berries they can, being immune to most poisons after the age of three, due to the development of a bezoar embedded in the lining of their intestine. These bezoars cause them no trouble and are, in fact, beneficial, rendering them immune to the vast majority of mundane and magical poisons once they reach maturity. Generally these creatures are considered neither pets nor pests, just being wildlife which might occasionally wander into a wix’s garden. Should one try to stun them in order to remove them, however, their fur, interestingly enough, absorbs the magic, which is part of why their fur is so popular in robemaking, making for some unexpected protection.
Rarity: Uncommon outside of New Zealand, found mostly in magical zoos. . .though there is a small band of Lanugo that escaped captivity in Wales.
Any Additional Information: ARE THESE GIRAFFE ENOUGH, @mya

Magical Creature
Magical Creature Name: Panthera Leo Ferrulis - Iron Lions
Physical Description: Living metal lions-- or lions with all turned to metal.
Disposition: Shockingly easy to domesticate. As they have no need to eat and, once trained, obey orders given perfectly, they have, on occasion, been used as guard hounds, seated like sentinels down driveways and along paths ready to stop anyone they don’t recognise. XXX
A Brief History: Rare and believed to be part of an experiment by Roman Emperors to make their gladiatorial and beast fights more interesting. These lions are made of metal and are very hard to kill. Iron Lions breed twice a century and usually have one cub, only rarely producing twins. The cubs do need to eat and are best fed on iron filings and mercury, the latter of which the mother will secrete as mundane lionesses do milk.
Rarity: Rare, usually found with purebloods of Roman or Italian descent, or in high-class magical zooes.
Any Additional Information: The Zabinis have a breeding pair.

Magical Creature
Magical Creature Name: Bruckhee, also called Demon Badger
Physical Description: Monstrously large European badger around the size of a well-grown bear. Usually found by large lakes.
Disposition: XXXXX. Extremely aggressive. Bruckee are highly spell-resistant and very hard to ward off; advice is generally to Apparate away.

A Brief History: It has been theorized Helga Hufflepuff’s sigil is a Bruckhee, rather than a simple badger, for all that Bruckhee are native to Ireland rather than Wales. Known for their numerous brutal attacks on humans Bruckees vanished for a long period of time, which led to the strong relieved belief that they had become extinct. However a recent spate of attacks in Ireland suggest the creatures may simply have been avoiding humans, for an unknown reason, and now are making themselves known once again.

Even more recently there appear to have been possible sightings in Wales which has led to some wixes fearing the Bruckee may be expanding their habitat. This has a not-insignificant meaning, given Bruckee have been known to eat between five and ten cows in one sitting before.

Bruckee are highly resistant to most spells, though not to enchanted song (such as produced by Veela and Banshees) or potions, and can be defeated through sheer brute strength, though a very great deal must be used. Most usually it is best to soothe the creature to sleep with song or potions-laced food, and then kill the creature in its slumber.
Rarity: Mercifully uncommon.
Any Additional Information: nichole insisted that i had to have a magical badger on here for all that she didn’t know about the magical lions, and only knew many snakes were involved. Something about it being unfair to hufflepuff?

Magical Creature
Magical Creature Name: Peruvian Shadowing Butterflies
Physical Description:A beautiful creature, this butterfly casts a heavy shadow and can make corners it settles in unnaturally dark.
Disposition: X.
A Brief History: Discovered by Europeans in the 1600s, though well-known to Native populations beforehand. The properties of the butterflies were used by the native population in warfare.
Rarity: Extremely common in Peru and surrounding countries, found in apothecaries aboardd.
Any Additional Information:Powdered wings from this butterfly are believed to be the key active ingredient in Peruvian Darkness Powder, and are used in some Deep Sleep and Dreamless Sleep Potion formulas, as well as in some Calming Potions.

Oddly for a butterfly it is more commonly found flying at night, apparently preferring the dark, and some specimens can quite agitated in bright light, trying to get away. While not a common pet, some potioneers and Apothecaries keep large mesh cages of these butterflies, which tend to draw crowds of adoring children.

Magical Plant
Magical Plant Name: Kthonia/Aidoneus
Physical Description: A magical variety of Pomegranate, the Kthonia or Aidoneus cultivar is known for it’s ability to induce deep, distinctly magical, sleep in those who eat of it. Known for it’s dark red, sometimes purple, outer skin and it’s rich pink inner skin, with the seeds themselves surrounded by a rich burgundy red pulp, the cultivar is difficult to grow, preferring sandy and sometimes rocky soils, in well shaded areas. The cultivar has even been found growing just within caves, surviving on the meagre sunlight it might get once a day, and several magical families currently use such cave-greenhouses, growing fungi deeper within the cave, and the Aidoneus Pomegranate near the mouth.
Native Range: Mediterranean area, though it grows well in greenhouses
Use: While Pomegranates ( both their pulp and their juice) can be used in potions, the Kthonia cultivar should only be used in very specific potions. Most usually it is used in Dreamless Sleep Draughts, in place of Sopophorous Beans and other ingredients likely to cause bad allergic reactions. Often the inclusion of this particular cultivar gives a potion a richer, more reddish colour, and an almost florally sweet flavour, mingling the usually ingredient of lavender, with the unusual sweetness of this particular cultivar.
Rarity: Uncommon
Any Additional Information: The fruit is known for an unusually sweet taste, making it a prized food by some magical families, who consider using the cultivar as food to be a perfect expression of extravagance, by using so prized a potion ingredient as a foodstuff instead.

Magical Plant
Magical Plant Name: Deadly Katabasis
Physical Description:
Native Range: Southern Europe
Use: herbicidal and fungicidal potions
Rarity: Uncommon
Any Additional Information: An incredibly dangerous magical fungus, the Deadly Katabasis is capable of rapidly infecting humans when it spores, which it does so often. However, it’s spores can, if collected, be refined into an incredibly useful essence, which is a key ingredient in a number of herbicidal and fungicidal potions. Due to this, those magimycologists which grow this fungus will carefully seal their greenhouses and only enter when using Bubble-Head Charms or equivalents, in order to ensure they do not die while tending their mushrooms.

Deadly Katabasis spores cause the processes of the body to slow down and eventually shut down completely. Interestingly, like Carevi Pogreb, this toxicity is much exaggerated in those with magic, though where Carevi Pogreb has no effect on muggles, Deadly Katabasis can still kill in large enough quantities. By and large Deadly Katabasis will grow in any damp area, even if it gets a large amount of sunlight each day, and does prefer a relatively warm environment. Perhaps unsurprisingly, when it does kill someone, the fungus rapidly infests the corpse, requiring most individuals killed by the fungus to be cremated.

Magical Plant
Magical Plant Name: Carevi Pogreb/ King’s Funeral
Physical Description: Distinct violet mushrooms no more than a few inches high
Native Range: Macedonia
Use: Poisons, witch hunts, hallucinogens
Rarity: Uncommon
Any Additional Information:Known as “цареви Погреб” in Macedonian, or King’s Funeral, these purple fungi are deadly - but only to those with magic. No one is quite sure as to why their poison is so specific but while muggle children can eat these mushrooms with ease, wixes must avoid them carefully. Even the spores can have powerful hallucinogenic effects, and while some wixen like to add some spores to any FairDust they take, they tend to be the addicts which die.

King’s Funeral mushrooms can be found growing whenever the weather allows, being quite a vigorous and persistent fungi, which has caused many deaths over the years. Easily identifiable by their distinct purple colour, Macedonian wixes train their children to spot the colour from a young age. Fortunately the mushroom seems to show little inclination to spread, and though farmed specimens have been found elsewhere in the world, it does not yet seem to grow naturally outside of Macedonia.

Magical Plant
Magical Plant Name: Flint Moss
Physical Description: Moss with with strands of fire (i’m awful at descriptions, if you have a better one in mind after seeing them. . .)
Native Range: Eurasia
Use: Poisons, potions to induce fevers
Rarity: Common
Any Additional Information: Called by a multitude of names (including, but not limited to Firemoss, Matchmoss and Beacon Moss), it is nonetheless generally listed in textbooks, Herbals and journals as Flint Moss, for it’s tendency to spontaneously combust into slow-burning fires which are exceedingly hard to extinguish. These fires are used to clear the ground, and to spread spores far on the smoke, helping the plant reproduce. In part due to this they have evolved a symbiotic relationship with the Firecap mushrooms, with the moss providing the flames which both use to reproduce, only aided by the mushroom’s ability to keep the flames at a sustainable level, that the surrounding environment is not destroyed by the flames.

Flint Moss has thus been used in poisons, alongside the fuel-venom of Firebreathing dragons, as well as in potions used to induce fevers, when nothing else will drive out the infection. Despite many attempts to regulate the moss it is unfortunately incredibly common in the wild, and only usually discernible from other mosses at two times: in the instants before combusting, and at the moment of true twilight, when the angle and amount of light illuminates the moss.

Magical Plant
Magical Plant Name: Enelysion Tree
Physical Description: Enelysion trees often look like stunted and rather bare Birch trees. Usually with odd markings on the trunks, which can resemble eyes, mouths, bats, and numerous other things, Enelysion trees are capable, through a magical means, to absorb large amounts of metal through their root systems, causing their xylem, and subsequently their timber, to take on a metallic appearance.
Native Range: Eurasia, found also in North America
Use: Metalcharming, woodworks, wandwood
Rarity: Uncommon
Any Additional Information: Enelysion Trees gather static electricity, and electrical build up through an unknown magical means, which they are known to release when they are overloaded or during a large enough storm. This energy is usually released as lightning and it is inadvisable to be near such a specimen when it is ready to release the energy.

Enelysion trees are rarely cut down, though those which do are usually incredibly hard to cut. Older specimens often have to be felled by magic, and some have cores of pure iron, with some strands of copper. It is believed that the tree somehow used the large amounts of metal and electricity in them to create a magically induced form of electrolysis to do this. Enelysion tree wood is rarely used, though it should never be given a Thunderbird core. Wands of Enelysion wood are very rare however, due to the intensity of effort required in their making.

Enelysion-wood wands can be found in Ollivanders, though they’re few and far between.

Magical Plant
Magical Plant Name: Heartfruit
Physical Description: For the first month a heartfruit plant is almost completely indistinguishable from any other plant of its variety, but as time goes on it starts to grow fleshy and animal-like parts - bones inside and from branches, fruit being replaced by hearts and eyes and similar. Usually before the plant is a year old it is incinerated by its maker, either to hide the plants’ nature, or to ensure there is no evidence for whatever the deadly heartfruit were used for.
Native Range: Magically created, no native range
Use: Potions, wandwood.
Rarity: Extremely rare, found with Herbologists and Dark mages only, usually individuals who are both.
Any Additional Information: A magical creation, the heartfruit is a dangerous thing. Made by taking the freshly cut heart or a cow, pig, deer, human or similarly sized creature, and filling the atria with plant seeds at the new moon and planting it, it creates a dangerously poisonous plant which reaches full growth in the time between the new and full moon. On reaching the full moon the heartfruit plant finally produces edible parts, all of which look, smell, and taste precisely like the natural plant, but are dangerously deadly.

Heartfruit leaves and branches are not so deadly as the fruit, and can be used in potions, the leaves adding a considerable potency to any brew, and the bark simply ensuring it lasts longer once bottled. The branches, where the seeds given were of a larger, woody plant, can be used to make wands, but as the practice of making heartfruit is one long banned, any such wands are usually inherited, or were made long, long ago.

Magical Plant
Magical Plant Name: Yggdrasil Trees
Physical Description: Similar to immense ash trees, Yggdrasil trees are known for swift growth and the immense sizes they reach.
Native Range: Scandinavia and Nordic countries
Use: Housing, woodwork, wands
Rarity: Common enough in Northern European countries, rare outside.
Any Additional Information:Immensely - some say unnaturally tall - trees, Yggdrasil trees are known for their swift growth, and eventual huge size. Distant cousins to Ash trees, Yggdrasils grow rapidly to a great size, at which point they cease growth. It is not uncommon for these trees, once full grown, to be hollowed out for use as housing.

Yggrasils are exceedingly rare in the modern day, and require great reserves of magic and nutrients in the soil to grow. The wood of Yggdrasil trees can be used for numerous purposes, construction, furniture and many others, and when Yggdrasils are carved out the timber inside is often used to furnish the structure. However there is usually a vast amount of excess, which can be found furnishing many an older wixen home, and there are a very few Yggdrasil wood wands.

Wands of Yggdrasil wood are uncommon, and hard to master. While they share many properties with Ash they are also able to cast extremely long lasting enchantments, and should never be bonded to a dragon core.

- Can you add information for European Wyvern Asps for Brief History (even something small, that section can’t be left blank). Disposition for the Heartsnake isn’t filled out either! Same with description in Deadly Katabasis!

HELL YEAH
and yiiii, sorry about those! my brain had. . .melted a little with the sorting of stuff around certain parts

EWA: Thought once to be highly common around Europe, European Wyvern Asps became one of the first of the magical snakes to go under wixen protection. From time to time, Muggle have found and raised what the thought to be common snakes to only find them sprouting wings, though usually the proper enforcers have been able to come in quickly and wipe memories.
Due to their unique coloring, a Magizoologists may usually be found around their common areas to keep Muggles from spotting them.

HEARTSNAKE: Used solely for Medicinal purposes, must be administered by trainer Healers. XXX

I'm not the greatest at descriptions but let's give 'er a go
DEADLY KATABAIS: The mushroom caps look rather typical of the kind, easily mistaken for a typical, nontoxic mushroom. Much more distinguishable is the stalk, green, mossy, and large, growing high into the air and twisting off. Few stalks ends in a mushroom cap, and not every cap thrusts itself off from a noticeable stem. Rather, the caps grow from smaller stems off the side of the large stalks.
