[attr="class","reasonbodcas"]Cas felt his anger bubbling up – how could she possibly tell him that motorbikes were deathtraps?! She had no right to tell him anything about what he did or did not buy. If she wanted a divorce like she apparently so desperately did, it would do her well not to meddle in what he decided to buy. “I wanted it,” in retrospect, he knew his answer sounded childish, but he could think of no better way to explain why he had done it. He’d bought the bike because he’d wanted to. He understood that it was dangerous, but it had been a calculated risk. After all, riding a motorbike was no more dangerous than wrestling dragons, and Saoirse had never had a problem with that. His face grew hot – funny how his wife chose certain things to worry over.
In fact, Cas knew that all of this was childish, but he found that he couldn’t stop. If Saoirse wanted them to divorce, then so be it. Perhaps this could be another reason to give her to pull the plug on their relationship.
He immediately looked up, confusion in his eyes. His sister? “What has she got to…” but it didn’t take long for the gears to turn in Cas’ head. It didn’t take long before he began piecing an idea together. A sister who so desperately loved her sister-in-law…one that was capable of meddling in even the most personal of their affairs. A sister that happened to know exactly what was going on between them because she got both sides of the story. It made perfect sense now. Zuri was able to play them against one another and create an impossible scenario. But why?
It seemed obvious now. So obvious that Cas wondered why it had taken them this long to piece it all together. She had wanted them to get back together. Perhaps it was the fact that Cas was crashing at her house or that she felt torn in-between them because she was both his sister and his wife’s best friend. Zuri must have surmised that by locking them in a room together they would be forced to reconcile their differences…or kill each other. “My sister puts her meddling hands where they don’t belong,” he said as he reached up to run a hand over his brow. His younger sister could be so frustrating, sometimes. She thought she knew best, but she knew nothing of this.
Zuri had never been in a long-term relationship. The one boyfriend he could recall of note was a Prince. She knew nothing of marriage or what it took to be married. But Cas did. So, did Saoirse. “She must think herself so smart,” His voice picked up in volume as he projected towards the door. “So smart, Zuri Adesida,” he yelled, hoping that she was out there, still. If he knew his sister, she was probably listening intently at the door.
Standing up, he crossed to the door once again. Perhaps now that they had figured out Zuri’s little plan, she would let them out. Unfortunately for Cas, a tug at the door revealed no such luck. Merlin’s Beard, he was still stuck in here. To what avail? “If you did not send this letter and it was my sister’s doing, we have no business being here.” He said, finally, pressing his forehead against the hotel door. “You want a divorce, Mosali. I will give you freedom from me.” He felt defeated. Cas didn’t want to play these games any longer. What he wanted was a stiff drink. And to wrestle a dragon. Perhaps that would help him clear his head.
