I've never felt this strong,
I'm invincible, how could this go wrong?

@caleb
It had been a long and incredibly stressful eight months but finally, her twins had decided to arrive. Violet had been born first at 5:03 that morning and then Iris had soon followed twenty minutes later, it had been exhausting and painful and Ruby had been terrified, but she’d had her best friend and ex there to soothe her. Ezekiel had stayed in the room until the time to push had actually arrived and much to the witches amusement, her brother had made a quick escape. Saying he was going to get coffee for the three of them and a snack for Ruby for afterwards. Ruby had been expecting Caleb to leave to, but as it was he’d stuck around.
Admittedly it had been bittersweet for the redhead, Walker should have been there with her but after he’d announced he wanted nothing to do with her or her daughters, her brother and two closest friends had stepped up to be the support she needed. She had asked Ezekiel to tell Walker when she’d gone into labour and her brother had grudgingly agreed but Ruby wasn’t holding her breath. She hoped he would have a change of heart, the girls were half him after all but she wasn’t sure, he seemed pretty set on wanting nothing to do with her or the girls and that bothered her greatly, but it is what it is. Her ex-husband had continuously accused her of cheating and ruined their relationship. She’d admit that maybe she hadn’t helped matters but she wasn’t going to cut off ties with her friend, they’d been through too much together to just walk away and their history was intense, she wasn’t going to just drop him.
Ruby was sat in the bed with Iris in her arms, the newborn's tiny hand was gripping tightly onto her finger, Hazel had disappeared to find Ezekiel and contact the people who she’d asked to be told about their arrival. Walker, Louise and Zachary. Hazel had been quick to agree and had left Ruby and Caleb alone with the girls. She ran her knuckle along Iris’ cheek, both girls had wispy auburn hair, a mix of her and their father. She smiled sadly then turned to Caleb, ”Thanks for sticking around Caleb, I know you probably had better things to do.” She finally said tiredly, ”Also, everything that happened probably wasn’t what you wanted to see…” She paused and gave a small laugh. ”Not until your own girlfriend and baby anyway.” She joked, looking away from him and resting her gaze on Violet who was asleep in the blonde’s arms. ”Uncle Caleb came through… thank you.” She smiled, kissing Iris’ forehead. ”At least Lorcan will have some playmates now when all three of them are older.” She mused, thinking to her brother’s son and she realised for the first time that she had no idea who was looking after her nephew and she made a note to ask her brother or Hazel, she assumed it would probably be Hazel’s grandparents, but she didn’t want to focus on that right now. She had to brace herself for the new path of crazy she was going to have to walk down.
Now that her daughters were here, everything was real and Ruby realised with a sinking feeling that she was going to be alone in raising her twins and she was terrified, she wanted to do right but she was only one woman, with one set of hands. She’d have to figure out some routine to balance caring for the twins both at the same time and one after the other. It was going to be an adventure though and Ruby despite feeling terrified and alone right now, knew she was going to be ready for it. She had her family and her friends standing by her after all. ”Some Valentine’s day this turned out to be already.” She laughed.
