[attr="class","nuggetwords"]The empty classroom was the perfect place to start plotting. Nobody came there since the Muggle Studies class had been cancelled, and Lizzy was perfectly content with taking over the room for hours as she attempted homework and continued to create her rather crude map of Hogwarts. It would have helped if things were moving, if she had layers, but so far she wasn't talented enough at Charms (or old enough) to really do anything but levitate things. So instead she had to make long pieces of parchment filled with details, and she tried to remember each and every thing that she could. There were tiny notes everywhere-- here was where this patrol stopped, there was where the next one began. She was able to put down the little nooks and crannies to see where they could hide, where they would be able to explore after hours... She had extensive lists and notes written down on a separate piece of parchment for what prefects did what and when. Nick didn't seem to change up the patrols too often, so they were generally accurate. She thought that, maybe, the professors might differ... But they got lazier far easier, what with all of the other work that they had to do.

Lizzy thought that she was being rather thorough. This was one of the few things that she was really interested in. Exploring the castle was important. Finding all of the hiding places, secret passages, and rooms was one of her major goals as a student. Of course, the ultimate goal was climbing the Willow. But Lizzy was certain that they would get there this year. They had been working for so long. They had befriended the tree-- well, they had almost gotten there. And they had only had minor bruises and scrapes last year. So it was only right to imagine that they were going to be able to do everything now. It made more sense to assume that! Because, otherwise, that meant that they were going to have to wait another year. She had a whole list of things that they had to do! And they needed to get to it before everything was over. Besides, this was Nicky's last year, and Atha's as well. She might not have been talking to her brother, but she wanted him to see that she had managed to climb the Willow with her friends. She wanted him to see that, even if he was going to be a right butt about it.

Maybe that was his right as an older brother. Little Jones often said that her big sister was a butt about things. Well, Lorelai actually used the real bad word there. To be fair, she was old enough. And Big Jones was scary, scarier than anyone that Lizzy had ever met before. She had taken on the role of Big Jones rather quickly, and she used mean words. But she made sure that the Three Musketeers didn't get caught. Lorelai had said that her sister (when not being a butt) was very good at keeping things quiet. Lizzy didn't know. She found her and then the older Slytherin girl to be scary when they were fighting, and it was even more petrifying when Big Jones was being nice to people. At least Nicky wasn't scary. That was good. She much preferred having a not scary big sibling, even if he still was a pain at times.

Lizzy let out a sigh as she scratched out one of her mistakes. She had gotten distracted thinking about her brother-- who she still was stubbornly ignoring. She had written one of the patrols in the wrong spot. Things would have been easier if she was older; she could have easily fixed it. But she knew she would be wishing she was younger as soon as she got older. It was an unfortunate situation.
