Been wishin' for you, am I lucky or not..|@william
For much of her life Ophelia had been independent and she still was to some extent and while she had people walk in and out of her life from time to time she didn’t let that stamp out her autonomy. With Will she tried as much as she could to keep that the same. He had only been back in her life a few months and he was already having such a dramatic impact on her, they had already been on one quick holiday to Spain and this time they had planned a much longer holiday. Neither of them had ever been to the Maldives before but the witch had read so much on the beautiful group of islands that she wanted to visit it as much as possible. She finally got that chance now.

Admittedly she knew why she was coming here and it wasn’t just for her to bask in the sun all day in her bikini with a handsome man beside her. No, she had a plan but she was being very cool about it. The last thing she wanted to do was to give away anything. She really wanted Will to be surprised. Ophelia had had a very unconventional upbringing for a pureblood witch and this was just another step in that direction. Had her parents not been killed she was sure that her upbringing would have been more traditional, but it was another of those unknowns in her life. It was tragic but also serendipitous that the two orphans were together again. They had definitely bonded with having that in common the first time they had dated and now they had each other again.

The two of them had flown via muggle airplane to the island nation the day before, it had been an adventure for the both of them. Ophelia had been on a plane before but never for such a long time. Eventually they had both arrived at the airport in the capital city and were both very grateful to be out of a plane for a change. The Maldives understandably were very different from the UK. It was quickly evident that everyone here was much more relaxed and life moved at a slower pace. That was something both Ophelia and Will could handle as they both were busy with their work. It was nice to have his time away.

It was now the start of their first full day here and there was so much they could do, however Ophelia had a strong inclination that Will would prefer it if they stayed in their hotel suite in either the bed or the bath or somewhere else it could just be the two of them. The witch awoke and stretched her arms above her head before looking over and seeing that Will was still asleep. Sliding out of bed she located her dressing gown and pulled it on and made her way out onto the balcony and looked out across the water as she ran her hand through her hair.

Vacations were normally few and far between for the man; before heading to Spain with Ophelia, he hadn’t been on a vacation since he accidently, drunkenly, apparated himself into the woods somewhere in Scotland. It was pretty, so he decided to pitch a tent and camp a few nights; he had no idea where he was, he had no idea how he got there, but he liked it, and always meant to go back; if he could ever remember where it was. However, since getting things started back with Ophelia, they had now been on two getaways. The first one was Spain, and that was very short, only a few nights, which were not enough to see the beautiful cities and historical sites. He told Lia when they had returned, that they would need to visit again soon and spend more time seeing the sights, instead of their hotel room. Not that it was something to complain about.

If there was ever somewhere that William could be, it was in the bed with the witch beside him. She was, well, amazing. So when she asked that they visit the Maldives, he couldn’t deny her, he couldn’t tell her no; because deep down, he wanted to see them as well. The cluster of islands were beautiful; he recalled being able to see them from the airplane that they took to get here; William had been on a plane multiple times before; but he still wasn’t fond of them. Muggles were undeniably brave, sitting in a long metal tube and blatantly defying the laws of gravity, but then again, witches and wizards were prone to ride a broom, so there really was no way to win an argument. Their escape to Spain was good for them, good for them as a couple, as individuals. Will expressed his desire to adopt the girl from the Orphange, and he had hoped Ophelia would join him; but he never pressured her into it. When they returned home; he had been working on the paper work, and she willingly signed. It made him feel amazing, it gave him hope that this young girl would be coming home soon to a family, not just a single father.

Exhaustion had set into the wizard late into the previous night. Despite their flight, he and Ophelia still wanted to explore the island for a little while, and then naturally, explore one another. He had felt the sun through the large bay windows that opened up onto a balcony high above the ground but he refused to let the sun win and wake up as he pressed the pillow over his head, trying to block the light while feeling for Ophelia whom was not beside him. Peeking from under the pillow, he saw her slim figure walk out onto the balcony; pulling himself from under the pillow and letting the sheets fall from his bare chest, he scooted himself up in the bed and he watched her, resting his right arm above his head, and took her in, committing her to his memory forever. Her dark hair, her curves, the way that the muscles in her back formed defined lines across her shoulders; she was perfect, and in this moment, and he hoped for future moments, she would be his forever.

Ophelia found herself reconnecting with Will at a faster rate than she really ever imagined. It was not necessarily a bad thing but she had just never pictured the two of them getting back together until a few short weeks ago. Now it seemed like the two of them were moving along faster than she had ever done things with Nick. It had taken them just so long to sleep together and here she had cheated on Nick with Will. Now she was planning on making things more permanent with him. Was she nervous about asking him? Definitely. She just hated that she hadn’t had her parents here to answer her questions or to quell her fears. Sadly she didn’t. Ophelia knew her aunt had tried and she appreciated it but even the older witch knew it was nothing in comparison to what her late sister and her husband could tell their daughter. Ophelia had not yet mentioned that she was going to do this to Jacqueline and she wondered just how her older sister would react to the news, she had not held Will in a favourable opinion for a while and Ophelia didn’t think this kind of news would do much to change that opinion.

Nor would the impending adoption the two of them were about to embark on. Ophelia didn’t deal with Veela Witches often unless they came into Ollivander’s. She hoped that Cadence was going to like her. The two of them had seen each other a number of times but it was different now. Ophelia was going to become her mum, kind of. As an orphan herself, she could at least to the young girl on some level and that was a little was all that the witch had to go with. It wasn’t a necessarily a bad thing but rather it was a little comforting. But Will was one too and she knew that the two of them would be closer. Ophelia rarely experiences jealousy but maybe this time around she would. Will knew that she had own fears about becoming a parent suddenly but they were in this together. The likelihood of the two of them having their own children would have to wait a little longer but Ophelia didn’t mind and she didn’t think that Will did either.

The two of them coming to the Maldives had not been planned but Ophelia knew that she could get him to agree to coming here even if it meant he had to sit in muggle plane for a long period of time. As expected when the two of landed and were making their way to the resort everything here was beautiful. It was just a shame that the group of islands were disappearing due to the selfishness of the world. At least they were here now and they could set about having another holiday under their belt. However this holiday would be different, not that Will had any clue about that.

The resort where the two of them were staying was just so blue and so peaceful. She was enjoying herself on the balcony. Even though she was wearing next to nothing under her dressing gown, she didn’t care so much, where they were staying was rather isolated and it was only Will who would able to see she was not wearing much more than her underwear. The witch sighed to herself and pulled her robe around her tied it at the front and turned around saw he was awake. ”Did I wake you sweetheart?” she called out to him, a small smile appearing on her face.

Everything had changed in his life. Well, except Tesla, she was the constant, but even though she was his absolute best friend, he couldn’t help but feel like she was hiding something from him. But he knew Tes, he knew that she wouldn’t keep something from him unless she absolutely had too. As long as she wasn’t putting herself in danger, he wouldn’t press her for more information. But other than that, everything else had changed.

He was going to be adopting Cadence, something that he had been wanting to do for a long time; but he also wanted to make sure the young veela would be in a home that would take care of her; but Will knew that the best place for her was with him. Albeit he was a male, he was still a veela, he still understood the issues, the problems, and the prejudices they received. But not only would Cadence have him as a crutch, Alayla would be there as well, granted William hadn’t gotten to know his sister incredibly well, he knew that she was a good person at heart, he made a mental note to have dinner with her when he returned home.

But everything with his love life had changed. Ophelia was back in his life. Their encounter was incredibly random as well; a chance meeting that ended up back at her home, then hiding their ‘relationship’ from her boyfriend, then Will comforting the witch when she and Nick broke up. Part of him was happy; but of course another part of him was upset that she had been hurting. But then, then they made another go at their romance, something that clearly never died throughout the years of not seeing one another. They worked well together, they belonged together, and here they were. Thousands of miles from home; from work; from the stress of the life in the U.K.

They were in paradise and all William Queen could do was watch her. He watched her so intently, so interested in how she moved, that he almost didn’t hear her question to him, he shook his head in response and he smiled at her as he stretched his arms and then tossed the covers off and stood, walking to the balcony, the only clothing were his sleep shorts that he vaguely remembered putting on last night before falling asleep. He took her into his arms and kissed her gently and smiled against her forehead.

“Not at all; you know no matter how much sleep I get, I am up as soon as the sun is. I’m surprised though, that you were up before me.” he said as he released her and turned; walking toward the door that led into the kitchen; “Coffee?” he asked as he walked out and started working on the coffee maker, then walking back in the room and leaning against the door; “You treat all the men you love like this? Fancy getaways, beautiful locales, or am I just special?” he said in a teasing tone; winking at her as he turned to fix them both a cup of coffee.

Ophelia had seen herself settling down, she had, she had just never seen herself getting back with Will and finding herself wanting to take the leap and be the one to ask him to marry her. Sure it was the exact opposite of how a pureblood witch was supposed to get engaged but honestly Ophelia had been robbed of growing up traditionally when her uncle had killed her parents and she saw that sticking with tradition was not the best option. Would she have had different opinions had her upbringing been different? Perhaps so? Or would her career aspirations been some else? Maybe... while Ophelia missed her mother and father terribly she was not upset with how her life had turned out. She was just missing so many people right now and she knew it that getting engaged was something to celebrate with a party or the like but she would see if Will said yes first.

Ophelia was happy to be here with Will, it had been her idea to come to the Maldives but he was the one that had paid for the trip. She resigned herself to thinking that she would have to get used to him paying for things given that he was very gentleman-like as Nick had been but the two of them had grown apart, very far apart towards the end of their relationship that she had often eaten dinner on her own most nights. She guess she shouldn’t have been surprised by Nick, after all it was obvious that his work would be more important than her. At least while Will was important at Safe Harbour, he still took a genuine interest in hers. It had been for a while like that given that he used to tease her mercilessly when they had been at school. Of course she was not to bothered by it as she preferred that any guy she was with was genuinely interested in her work as opposed to not even asking her about her day.

Of course while they were here holidaying there would be very little discussion of work, except maybe for the topic of adopting Cadence. The primary reason why she had been so quick to sign the papers was because she understood how important it was for any young witch to have a loving and caring home. It came from her own experience really and in Will’s case he had been lucky to find the same with his adoptive parents and he was one of the lucky ones. She had been to the orphanage a few times and had heard from him that many of the children had been there for some time and had not yet found a home with a loving family. Ophelia knew that Will did his best to give the children the best of everything, she had helped him in getting wands for those who had started at Hogwarts this year. That of course was all encompassed in their affair, well it really was just her affair, he was not the one in a relationship when they had gotten together.

However, they were together now again and here together in this paradise. The witch was happy to finally be here and she saw it as the perfect place to as Will to be her husband and while they had moved quickly since they had got back together she didn’t think there would be any question of what his answer would be.

She listened and watched as he made his way over to her wearing only his shorts and smirked to herself. They would not be caught dead back wearing this little clothing out where anyone could see them. ”Well of course, love, the kids would keep you on your toes” she chuckled. ”But why are you surprised I’m up early?” she asked curiously. ”Coffee is a must” she nodded as he headed back inside for prepare their drinks. At his next question she chuckled. ”Only the special ones get this level of treatment” she grinned as she walked over and leant on the door frame and watched him. ”Just don’t get used to it” the brunette laughed.
