I don't need no money
as long as I keep dancing
@ellanora Outfit
She didn't really know what to expect from all of this, but she was kind of happy, for the first time in a long time. Saying that things were complicated was being subtle, but it was really easier than to just come out and say that she was dating two people, one of each sex. At first she had thought that they would be sharing Zeke, but one night when he was at work and they had had too many drinks, things got a little crazy and she hadn't been able to stop smiling since then. She didn't really know what Teuila thought of it, but Zeke had seemed happy about it she supposed.  She had spent little time in her apartment and she didn't mind it, but she had to go to work and she wasn't that happy about it.

She had been forced to pull herself from their bed and shower, getting pulled into a snogging session with Zeke before she left for the day with alarms set for the other two so they could go to work that afternoon and headed off. Her smile was brilliant and shining. For once in her life she wasn't dreading the day, she didn't fear what might be around the corner. She didn't worry about the things that might be brewing or what could go wrong. If it did, then it did, but she was going to enjoy herself until she could no longer.

Happiness. It wasn't something that she found easily.

It wasn't something that she really wanted to fade, but this was life and it wasn't always going to be that easy. She had to keep a level head, but some how she walked on air as she glided into the hospital and signed in for her shift before putting her things away.

She had been hesitant to start dating Zeke, he was young and he would one day want a family With the death of his parents and his little sister, she knew with no doubts that she would want to replace the family that he had lost, but she couldn't do that. They had told her that the chances were low, but he was fine with it. He said that he was fine with it. This wasn't forever, not that she knew. It could end up that way, who knew really, but she wasn't about to put pressure on something so fresh.

She had begun humming to herself when she heard someone behind her speak her name. Turning she smiled softly. "Healer MacGuffin." She was never sure if she she call her Lady or not. But she was  Healer so that would work too. She gave a small snile and waited.

[attr="class","thousandwords"]Ella didn’t mind when she was working morning shifts in the hospital. She liked them better than she liked the afternoon ones if she were being honest. She thought that there was something a little more peaceful about the hospital in the mornings than there was in the afternoons. Before the routine appointments started for the day. Before the halls filled with visitors, and there was just too much going on for anything to be considered peaceful anymore. Ella had been here since five this morning, she had been studying before rounds, and then rounds, and now she was going to have to try and find her husband and tell him that she was going to class for a couple of hours, and then she would be back. But that he was on his own for dinner tonight, because she needed to stay here and get ready for the test that they had coming up. She had almost finished her first year of training, and she knew that she was ready to declare. But there were a series of things that she had to do first, and she was learning that quickly enough. Elliot had already been through all of this though, and she though that he knew what was happening.

Her life was going to come to a screeching halt at some point, but until he brought it up, she was just going to casually sail through and not think about it. There was no need to push something that she didn’t know if they were quite ready for yet. And so until they decided to talk about it again, she was just going to let it go. She was just going to let things be, and not worry too much about any of it. Ella thought that they were going to have to talk about it soon though. Either she wanted to do it now, when they were still getting started, and before she was practicing steady, or she wanted to wait until they were pretty established, and her career had taken off. They had a window, and then she was going to say no to starting from the beginning. This was probably it. She could have a baby while she was still in training and not feel too bad about it. She could train around that. But she didn’t want to have her first baby when she was trying to start a practice.

That wouldn’t have been the ideal time. Honestly, she thought that they could continue to add to a family if they already had one. What was one more really? They were going to have to have children eventually. She was an heir in her own way, and Elliot would inherit his father’s titles. Someone had to take over those roles, and Ella knew that her own hierarchy would shift again as things changed, but she knew that that was irrelevant unless something happened to her uncle. Still… It was something that she kept in the back of her mind. And maybe it was because she was third. Maybe it was because she was actually that close, that she worried about it. But she knew that it wasn’t something that her siblings worried about quite as much. Matka, of course, but not her sestry. She was sure that Philip didn’t have to worry about it hardly at all. The twins wouldn’t either. They were far enough down that there weren’t really even rules for them. Five. There were only rules through five. And that was Sylvestr, Matka, her, Thea, and Constance. That was five. Temperance was safe. Philip was safe. The twins were safe. Nick was safe by a mile.

She was third though. And she knew that she took that a little more seriously than she needed to. But it was something that she had been aware of, even growing up. She knew that she was more important than her sestry when it came to the monarchy. She knew that she was fourth then. And she was third now. When her matka’s otec had died… When Malcolm had killed him, they had all moved up a spot. Constance had moved into the bubble of people that mattered to the crown. Matka had moved one step closer to being queen… And Ella thought that she didn’t really know that they wanted it. They didn’t want to be royals, they hadn’t asked to be. But they were. They were royals. And that was just how it had worked out. Ella was on the lookout for her husband, and she thought that she had seen him head downstairs earlier, but now she had no idea where he was. Working most of the time on the top floor of the hospital these days left a lot of area for her to look through when he wasn’t in the Creature Induced Injuries Ward. “Good morning.” She offered the girl a small smile, “You haven’t happened to see the other Healer MacGuffin this morning have you?”

----- Cheap Thrills -----
tag: @ellanora // words: 316 // notes: ---
She kept track of some movement in the place, because no one else could. It wasn’t like she had a map that could track them all, though that would make life easier, and being able to page like a muggle hospital would make life easier too, but that would never happen within these walls, far too much magic to allow those to work there. She supposed that nothing about that would ever change so she would just keep watching, but that would be interesting to see if that could ever happen.

She had been tracking movements, taking notes and asking herself if she needed to do her laundry or not. She supposed that she could always owl Teuila and Zeke and ask them to do it, but she wasn’t sure what clothes she had there that needed it and at home. It would be so much easier if they all just lived together, especially seeing as the girls were always at his place and never in their own home any more.

The woman who spoke to her was a Lady, a Healer and from what rumors she had heard, the lovely woman was a princess too. She thought that some women had all the luck but in truth, she doubted that it was luck, and it was probably much more complicated than it was worth. She didn’t want to be in the other woman’s shoes, that much was for sure, but she was sure that the pureblood would say the same thing abou her.

” I saw him about a half hour ago heading towards the morgue, but that was the only time that I have seen him together. I did see the head of his ward getting on the elevator, so he could have been in search of them?” She would keep an eye out and was really thinking about bringing up that map idea.

Cheap

Thrills

Ella was trying her best to balance work, and school, and she had figured out a decent enough system for the summer. She was going to have to rearrange again when school started back up in the fall, but it wouldn’t be too bad. She was taking an entire semester’s worth of classes over the summer. Entire courses crammed into half of the time of a normal course, and she was pushing herself to do well in all of them. Ella didn’t have time to not do well in them. She was already behind. She had already started down this road later than most everyone else, and she was trying to figure it out. She had started late, they didn’t like her. But she was getting over that. They could not like her all they wanted, she was still going to prove them wrong. She was going to become the best in her field. She was going to build her field on the way up. That was the goal. That was the ambition that she knew that she got from both sides of her family. She was going to do this.

She could do this. Ella knew that she could do this. And she knew that she was good at it. She knew that she could succeed here, because she was putting her heart into it. Ella didn’t know what it meant to love properly. But she was working on it, and she was learning to love. She was learning what it meant to love, and be loved, and she thought that she could love this job enough to make up for her shortcomings elsewhere. She could do this. She could figure this out. And she thought that she was going to make the best of it. No matter what they called her. No matter if they liked her, or didn’t like her, or what it was. She could do this, with or without their approval. Her family approved. Elliot approved. That was all that really mattered.

Everyone else’s opinions were irrelevant. Ella knew that that wasn’t exactly the most princess like tone to take with people, but it was the one that she seemed to live in when it came to people underestimating her here. It annoyed her. Just because she was who she was, didn’t make her any less fit to do this job. It probably made her more fit, actually, because she had an entire country, or two, worth of people that she could better take care of down the line if she knew how the health care system should have been running. That was something that she fully believed, and she had made her decision. Her choices were final. She had decided what she wanted to declare as, and now she was looking for Elliot.

The hospital was big, but it wasn’t that big. And she thought that, as a healer, she should have known where to find her healer husband. There were only so many places that he would logically be after all. But she couldn’t seem to track him down. A fact that was becoming more and more frustrating by the minute. Stopping to talk to the girl that welcomed everyone in seemed to be the answer. She thought that she might have at least seen him. The atrium of this place was open, and airy, and it would have been easy to spot him, if you knew him. Of course, Ella didn’t know how well the other girl knew any of them. Ella hummed a little bit in response to her answer and nodded, “Thank you. It’s not really that big of a deal. I just wanted to share my declaration with him.” Her smile never faded as she spoke, “I can just tell him at home later.”
