It's true love, don't fake it
You better not, you better not

It had been a very relaxing and fun day for Delia thus far. She had been able to sleep in, which was ah-maz-ing, and she had been shopping with her best gal pal. It was only the first full day of summer break but damn was it going well. Delia hoped it would continue going well, she really, really did. Something in her was feeling nervous about her last order of business for the day. Tea with Truly. Why was that so nerve racking? Seriously?! She was just a girl. The ex-head girl. Jesse's girlfriend...girl. Delia had been a bit surprised by that, actually. The way her mum had sounded in the owls over the last few weeks it seemed she had been under the belief that Jesse was coming to stay with them. In fact, both of them held that belief. So it was a little surprising when, out of the blue, Jesse showed up with Truly at the flat. Her mother had told her that she would likely bring him home with her after her shift, but she hadn't even been home when Jesse and Truly had arrived.

It felt a little awkward at first, too. Delia was thrilled to see Jesse out and free but having a spectator for the whole ordeal was....strange. She had almost felt like she shouldn't have hugged him after he told her about their relationship. Like, how weird was it to hug some gal's boyfriend right in front of her? It was weird. It was new. It was so, so foreign. Jesse had never brought any girl to the flat before. Well except for....temporary reasons. When her mother wasn't there. But this hadn't been one of those situations. It was pretty fucking obvious that it wasn't like that, and that was foreign too. She had never seen Jesse like that with anyone; It was cute, but still...so, so weird.

When he told her that he and Truly were living together she had been happy for them, though! She could have been saddened by the fact that he wasn't going to be around for yet another summer, but she wasn't. She was excited for him to start a new chapter with his new freedoms, and if that chapter included Truly then so be it! She would be happy for them. She would try to make the effort to get to know her, maybe even like her. Delia hoped she would like her. She hoped that Truly would like her back too! Jesse had been taken out of her life before and she didn't know if she was prepared to lose him again because of some fault of her own. Some fault like rubbing his new girlfriend the wrong way or starting a feud.

Delia didn't think that would happen. She was a pretty nice person and she was willing to try and make it work out even if it meant simply being cordial and not being friends. Before the pair had left the flat she had the mind to invite Truly for tea the next afternoon and she had agreed. It had been on her mind all day while she was shopping with Terri, she had even thought to get her a gift which had been difficult. She had no idea what sort of thing to get a woman she barely knew, so the shopping had done no good. Instead she had made her something, which seemed tacky now that she thought of it, but it didn't matter. She wasn't even entirely sure if she would give it to the girl anyways.

The blonde lass had just been walking up to the shoppe's front entrance when she saw Truly approaching as well. "Perfect timing, m'lady! Nice to see you again so soon." Delia offered the girl a warm smile and opened the door for her. "After you."

She wasn’t due to start work for a few days, and her scores had until July to come in, so she was very antsy and anxious about it. Scared that she had failed, but that was usual for her. She had done the same thing when he OWL scores had come as well. The only difference was that she really honestly and truly worried that it would affect how she was viewed at her job, but that was stupid. She was spending the rest of her time (for the summer at least) with the man that she loved, and yes, she loved him. She wanted to spend all of her time with him, to make up for all of the time that they had lost but she had things that she had to do and so did he. She had been out buying scrubs and other things on the list that she had been give and she had been buying things for the house that they needed.

She had a plan for their dinner that night, and she had stopped by the grocers for all the things that she needed to go get so that she could spoil her baby when he got home from work. She had things to do first though, like tea with his surrogate sister. Their official ‘meeting’ with her had been a little awkward, but she didn’t want it to be. She loved Jesse and would give her everything for him, and to protect to him. She didn’t want anything to happen to him, and she knew they felt the same way. They were his family, and she wanted to be with him always so she was going to do everything to make sure that they were on her side as well. She was going to do everything that she could to make sure that she made Jesse happy. She wore the necklace that he had sent her around her neck still and a smile on her face.

Meeting Delia was a plan and she was going to do her best to have fun. She was out of school and she had no reason to pretend to be someone that she wasn’t anymore so she had a smile on her face and a bounce in her step as she arrived at the shop. ”Well, hello there. Fancy seeing you here.” She was almost giddy. She was out of school, she had the man that she loved finally in her life as her boyfrend. It was a good life, and things could change over night, but she was going to always be happy, he was always going to make her happy Nothing would change any of that.

’Thank you!” She said as she stepped into the sickeningly pink shop. Pink was by far her least favorite color but she was there for Delia, not herself.

IT'S TRUE LOVE, DON'T FAKE IT
YOU BETTER NOT, YOU BETTER NOT
Jesse and Delia had known each other for as long as she could remember but it wasn't like they were best friends. In the summer, maybe. When they both returned to muggle London they hung out a lot and he was always making surprise appearances when his foster families fell through. They had a good thing going, ignoring one another during the school year and picking up during the summers. It worked. Their social circles never crossed, not that she imagined they ever would. Well, she hadn't until now! It was pretty obvious from a distance that he and Truly were friends, she had seen them talking and walking and whatever for countless years at Hogwarts. One summer during a surprise overnight she and Jesse stayed up gossiping, if that's what you could call it, and playing little games. Never have I ever, twenty questions, truth or dare, they kept themselves entertained. She couldn't remember what game it had been that he had slipped about his feelings for Truly.

Honestly, she thought he was joking. The Truly she was used to seeing was very stone faced, RBF more like, and posh. She wasn't his type, she was pretty sure of that. And he had a way of messing with her, he was a master of bullshitting, she was so sure he had been joking. But then there were a couple of times she hadn't been so sure. Walking the halls they were together a lot, very touchy feely, something had to have been going on. Jesse had said there wasn't the few times she had casually asked. At the end of her fifth year she started not believing him. There was definitely something going on there, but she heard something about her having a boyfriend? A guy named Luke?

Clearly she had been mistaken. Well, now she didn't think she had. Delia felt like everything was some weird ruse that she was just becoming aware of. They had most definitely had a thing during her fifth year, she was sure of that now. And Truly wasn't some stone cold bitch she was actually....a decent person? Perhaps? After talking with her, briefly, at the flat she had made the observation that all of her previous observations may have been...wrong? Truly was nice, and happy, and smiling? Delia didn't really think her face could do that. She had never seen it to that.

As Truly walked through the door she held open she couldn't help but smile through her confusion. Had the girl not only smiled but sounded...giddy? Something about her demeanor had made Delia feel a little giddy herself. This might actually go pretty well. "Merlin, have mercy!" She gaped as she entered the tea shop. This place was hideous. How had she never been to this Pepto-Bismol painted palace? "This is ridiculous. I absolutely love it. Have you been here before?" Delia had a tendancy to ramble on and on, but she tried her best not to go on a complete tangent. "If I lived this close to a tea shop like this I'd likely have moved in. This is....wow! This is wow."

It was like she had never lost him at times, like those hellish long months had never happened, Truly could have blinked and they were washed away almost. The only difference was that they had, and things were not like they should be. They were not like they should be, but they couldn’t change it. The struggle made them stronger, made them better and she wanted to wish, to hope that it would only be a matter of time before he didn’t have to go to that mine, before he didn’t have to go to meet with an Auror. She didn’t want to be afraid that she would never see him again, she didn’t want to be afraid any more about what it meant for them. She just wanted to be happy. She wanted to be happy with Jesse.

Without the pressure of being Head Girl and Death Eater’s bastard daughter she could breath a little better, she could relax a little more and take her time as she did things and enjoy life. It was weird to feel happy, to feel whole, but she did for the first time since he had been taken from her. She was in love, and she didn’t want to give any of that up.

She knew the ways that people thought about her, the things that they said, the opinion was popular that she was a stone cold unfeeling bitch, but that wasn’t further from the truth. She was none of those things, she was just guarded. She had been hurt so many times by Heavenly Joy, by her fathers, by people in general, even Luke and his abandonment.

The sight of all the pink always made her a lttle ill at first, like looking at a bottle of Pepto that they kept in the house, but after a moment, if you let your eyes adjust, it was fine. It wasn’t all that bad really. She nodded her head when Delia asked if she had been there before. ”Yes, some friends and I used to come here in fourth and fifth year, but things changed.. “ She shrugged. Callidora was no longer her friend, Markus was gone too. She wanted to just forget them honestly, so she didn’t bring them up.

”Should we find a table?”

IT'S TRUE LOVE, DON'T FAKE IT
YOU BETTER NOT, YOU BETTER NOT
This place was absolutely hideous and she adored every bit of it. It reminded her of Sister Catherine's flat, the old woman who had lived next door to them for some time. She had been a nun, once, but had either stopped or simply decided to live out her days out on her own. She was nice...unlike her taste in furnishings. There had been a few times in which Delia had been pawned off onto the old nun and each time she had sat in the horribly outdated flat cursing her mother to Panama and back. Looking back she wasn't sure exactly why that had been. She had learned quite a lot from Sister Catherine, especially about photography. The old woman had been quite into photography herself and would show off her old albums over tea and tell her all the tricks she had learned over the years. That was what their relationship revolved around: tips and tea.

It was almost fitting now that she was in a tea shop thinking of the old bitty. It really brought on a craving for a cup of Oolong with, of course, a bit of honey-- just as Sister used to make. She had never really liked the tea as a child but the sentiment behind it made her think she might like it now. Time had a way of changing things, sentiments included. She had once hated to stay at her neighbors house and now she was looking back at her fondly. Jesse seemed so wild to her once, as though he'd never settle-- but now he was in love and happy, finally able to put down roots. And Truly who she had once saw as so harsh and cold seemed to have changed too. She was brighter, lighter somehow and it wasn't just the way the pepto-pink was brightening everything up. Times and sentiments changed.

"Yes, things always seem to change--" she mused, admiring the unholy catastrophe that was the decor of the place around them. She chuckled lightly, turning her attention back to Truly with a bright smile. "Except for this place, doesn't look as though they've changed a thing in fifty years." She was admittedly a little jealous that Truly had the pleasure of coming to this place before. If she would have known of the place she'd have dragged Emily and Terri here ages ago and made them sit through a cuppa as she admired every dainty flower in the tablecloths. She was a simple girl, and simple things amused her. She had her eyes set on a particularly gaudy table and made her way toward it while still chatting. "Ooo, yes. We need a spot and a pot! What sort of tea do you crave, lovely? I'm into Oolong but I can swing for whatever you'd like. I invited you, after all, you should have pick."

Life as a reality it seemed was not as simple as some would prefer it, this she knew simply because her own life was this way. She had gone through more than her share of troubles, trials, and tribulations. She wanted more than anything though, for things to be right. For once in her bloody life. It wasn't as if she was asking for money or for her life to be free of troubles. She just wanted something to be easy. Something to be simple and worth fighting for. Was that so much to ask? After everything she had gone through with her family, after everything that she had gone through with Luke and school. She just wanted a few months of easy-going simplicity. She tucked some of her long dark hair behind her shoulder and winked at the younger girl.

"Maybe that is the reason that it is so popular? People know that no matter what is going on around them, it is one thing that won't change? It won't just suddenly be something else." She followed the younger woman and dropped her bag when they reached a table. "I like Oolong myself, but a good Lady Grey is never amiss, though I say that about Chai too. " She said with a laugh and crossed her legs. She had a feeling that the blonde brought her here for a reason but she wasn't sure why. She looked over the menu and when the server arrived ordered herself something to eat as well. Merlin knew when the last time she had eaten was.

"You will love that peanut butter lava cake it is sinful. " She picked up a biscuit that was already on the table and took a bite from it and looked at the blonde, waiting for her to say whatever it was that she felt the need to say.
