finding a good man
let's have a toast here's to...
Tag: @duke Sabine's Outfit
She could admit that she didn't really know what it was that she was doing here. Sabine didn't think that she actually belonged in a place like this. A music festival was a little outside of her wheelhouse, but she was trying. She had asked Thea, of all people, for help with her outfit, and she was trying. She was trying to belong here for him. She was trying to be a part of this. Because she was his wife. She wanted to be a part of this. She wanted to figure this out, she wanted to do something surprising, something that he hadn't asked her to do. Something that he wouldn't expect. She had come in here, with every intention of just watching the show. Of him not even knowing that she was here, but now that she was here, she wanted to see him. This was where he was going to be until the festival was over, and if she were being honest she didn't even know how long these things lasted. All she knew was that she wanted to see him before she went back to Wales for the night.

The weekend, really. She was going back for the weekend, and she knew that she was going to just let him have his space, and do his thing, but she had never seen them before. She had never seen them play, and she wanted to do this. She wanted to hear them sometime that wasn't in the middle of a practice or a writing session. She wanted to know what they were doing, and if they were going to make the crowds go wild. She wanted to experience the Weird Sisters II the way that she thought that most everyone else did. Special treatment hadn't seemed like something that she had wanted, until she had gotten here, and now she wanted to see him. Getting back there was going to be the challenge though. She wasn't anyone. Not really. The bouncers weren't going to know who she was. They weren't just going to let her back stage if she claimed that she knew Tib... They would probably laugh her right out of the festival if she claimed to be his wife. And that, more than anything, was the truth. Ironic, really, that the truth was the most unbelievable thing.

Making her way through the crowds she headed for the side of the stage, keeping an eye out for her cousin, even if she knew that she wasn't likely to run into Thea again once they were here, she knew that the dark haired witch was around here somewhere. It seemed like half of the magical population of England was here, but that was beside the point. She headed in the direction that she thought would get her closest to the stage to see if she could determine some way backstage, without actually having to ask someone how to get back there. The last thing that she needed was to get kicked out of the festival, and then it to come out who she was to him, and embarrass him. She wasn't going to embarrass him. She was going to be the perfect wife when it came to things like this. She was going to be supportive, and caring, and everything else. She was going to understand what this life was, and what it meant, and Sabine was trying. She was trying to do this for him. To surprise him. Because he hadn't asked her to come, she had no idea if she would even get back there to see him. But she was here.

She was here, and she was trying, and she thought that that had to count for something. Tucking her hair behind her ear she stopped in her tracks for a second as she saw the crowd that was gathered around the entrance to where the band seemed to be coming in from wherever it was that they had been earlier. She didn't know if they played more than one set today, or what exactly it was, but even if she had sprung for a VIP ticket to get her back this far, she knew that she didn't stand a chance of getting close to the band unless she actually caught sight of one of them. Van, or Gen, or even Tib himself, though she knew that she would have liked to surprise him. Talking to the security guard seemed like her best bet right now though, and she turned on the charm as she talked to the man.  There were plenty of girls milling around behind her, and she heard them all scream his name... Looking off in that direction, Sabine's hair swung around her, brushing her shoulders and she smiled. He was here, there was no denying that, the way that everyone else was screaming, and she let her eyes follow him as he came towards her, and the security guard that was blocking the path to backstage, half waiting to see if he would even recognize her, standing at the end of the line he was working on his way into his show...

Hell yes, he was amped and had been doing pull ups and sit ups on the bus to keep his heart rate up so he would stay hyped for when they went into the crowd. He was just so excited for this. They were rather popular before and it seemed like that was just taking off, that more and more people were buying their stuff, he was seeing their merch more, and it felt like finally things were taking off. He was fucking happy! He was married, to a beautiful dame, even if she wanted to hide it for now. He would do anything that she asked of him, and he had good reason. She was everything that he could have asked for, and he knew that he was falling for her. Not that falling for one’s spouse was a bad thing, though that usually happened before the wedding.

He had ignored the taunting of Van for a good long while and nothing made him feel better than reminding the Parkinson that while the woman that Tib was indeed getting mooney eyed over was his own wife, that the woman that Van was mooney eyed over, was in fact his brother’s fiance. And it wasn’t like they were even trying to be subtle any more, which made it even more worse.

He was headed to go backstage and go hang out for a while before it was there turn but that was when he saw her and he deviated from his path. He took off towards her, making a quick Beeline towards her before picking her up and spinning her around with a smile on his face. Okay,so that wasn’t a smart choice but she came! She came to see him!

He laughed and kissed her softly putting her down before breaking the kiss. ”You came to see me.”

Finding a

Good Man

This was not somewhere that Sabine thought that she belonged. A music festival was not her style, and she knew that. She knew that she wasn’t going to know any of the music. She knew that she wasn’t going to understand half of what was being said. But she was here, and this was what she was doing. It had been somewhat of a last-minute decision. She hadn’t really thought that she was going to come at all. But then she had decided that it was worth it. That it was something that she needed to do. She was his wife, after all. Even if the rest of the world was unaware of that fact. She was still his wife, and she this was where she needed to be. Being supportive, or whatever it was that it was called when she was wearing an outfit that she had had to have her cousin help her pick out. Because Merlin forbid she actually try and pick something like this herself. It certainly wasn’t the worst outfit in the world. She had seen worse since she had gotten here, but it wasn’t something that she normally would have worn either. Most of Sabine’s clothes would have been appropriate in a board room. And this was not that.

Van had made fun of her more than once about looking like she worked in a bank. And she had had to stop herself from telling him that that was pretty close to exactly what she did. It was hard to explain her life to these people. She was an orphan. She was everything that she was supposed to have been all along. She was everything that it took to fit in here, but she didn’t. Because she was twenty, and she was blonde and she was pretty. She was an orphan, and alone in the world, and everything that she should have been to qualify to be a part of this festival. But she knew that she wasn’t really any of it. She didn’t know any of the names for the acts, except for the Weird Sisters II, and even back in March when she had met Tiberius for the first time, she hadn’t really known who that was. Certainly not enough to recognize them. That much had been evident by the fact that she had had drinks with their front man before she had even realized that he was famous at all.

If there was one thing that she thought that he didn’t have to worry about, it was that she was going after him for the star power of it all. She wasn’t doing it just to say, one day, that she had been married to Tiberius Duke at one point in her life. Because no matter what name they were using now, or he was using, because she was still using Larsen, she thought that they were going to just have to roll with it. They were just going to have to go with whatever came out of their mouths. Things weren’t supposed to go a certain way, and yet, they did. It seemed like they always did. The worst way possible. That just seemed to be her prerogative. It didn’t matter. She had come here to be supportive, regardless of the fact that they didn’t really have anything to do this place. That she didn’t fit the mold. And Sabine could tell, just from walking around, that she didn’t’ belong here. That this wasn’t somewhere that’s eh was ever going to really be comfortable. But this was where he wanted to be. So she was here too. That was marriage, right?

Sabine didn’t know all that many married people. She didn’t think that she knew any, actually. Obviously, there were married people in her life. Her uncle was married. Her aunt was getting remarried. She had a cousin that was married. But for the most part, she thought that she was just going to have to figure this one out on her own. It wasn’t like Ares, or Ella, knew that she was ever related to them. And she didn’t want to bother her best friend’s mum with something like this. That wasn’t fair when she was sure that she had fifty other things to worry about the whole time. Still, he had been surprised when she had come out of the crowd and zeroed in on her. Sabine certainly hadn’t expected a greeting like that and she couldn’t help but worry that there were altogether too many cameras around to do something like that. They had to have any cellular devices off back here, or she thought that there would be muggle pictures of that kiss everywhere. That was something that neither one of them needed. They had made it this long without anyone finding out you’re really married. Still, in this case. “I came to see all of you…” She had, she had come to see the show, and not from the wings, “I bought a ticket…”
