MAGICAL ABILITIES INFORMATION & APPLICATION

Listed here are the approved additional magical abilities, as well as a brief description of each. If you want more information, you can visit the HP Wiki to gain insight of the magical abilities you are applying for. This is important to do, as any character not using their magical abilities correctly and according to the rules will have the potential of having that ability revoked. There are three levels for magical abilities.

For both applying and level upgrades, answer only if it is applicable. The following magical abilities do not receive levels: Animagi, Clarvoyant, Metamorphmagi, and Seer.

The rules for magical abilities are listed below:
- A role-play sample of your character using the ability is required.
- If you/your character are abusing their ability in any way, it can be taken away by administration!
- If your character is a student, please keep in mind that most of these abilities will not be accepted. People are born seers, and metamorphmagi of course, but think twice before trying to apply for a student to be any of the other magical abilities. These are extremely complex and we will more than likely deny student applications!
- Due to the rarity of the following powers, we will be placing a limit on the amount we can have on site at one time. We will only allow three seers played at a time.
- Please note that you will be allowed to request a level, but it is up to administration to decide which level your character will start on.
- To progress to the next level: at least three months need to pass between progression, you most post about your character's powers, either practicing or using them, in at least six different threads, and administration must approve. If Admin denies, they will provide reasoning and how your character can progress to the next level.
- If applying for Animagi, please state which form and all distinguishing marks.
- Not every character is some super powerful witch/wizard with every magical power that exists. So be realistic please! That means that not all of your characters should have magical abilities.
- Also, if you go on an absence, abilities will be held for three months. After that time, if we haven't heard from you and you're still on an absence, we will be freeing up that spot for someone else to potentially take.
- In a Role-playing standpoint, it is important to realize that a character can only read the thoughts that have been added to the post by the person that Legilimency is being used on, i.e. you cannot create thoughts or memories that the post does not mention. This is the same for being an empath. Your character can only perceive emotions that are in the post, not something that isn't mentioned. But it is also important to note that a member does not need to ask permission to use Legilimency on your character or perceive their emotions. All thoughts in a post are fair game, they just cannot make up thoughts that your character isn't thinking about.
- For role-playing purposes, a Seer can only predict something about a character that the member has agreed to or informed you of, and a Clarivoyant seeing anything must go through the member as well.
- Now we all know that Uagadou students do not use wands, so they are all wandless and a lot of them learn to be Animagi as well. Feel free to claim that here! You do not need to do a roleplay sample!

Animagi | A witch or wizard with this ability can change into an animal at will, and is a learned skill. It is an extremely time-consuming skill to learn. You do not need to put a level for this ability. |
Aura Reading | The power to see the auras of others. These invisible fields of energy surround every living thing, and can be used to sense emotions, health status. Some people see the auras of everyone around them, others might have to focus specifically on the person in order to read their auras. This is an ability you are born with. Clairvoyant | With not quite the magic of a seer, a Clairvoyant has the power to gain direct visual information of the future or past, through non-physical means. Sometimes this is through dreams, or even touching items or people that causes them to perceive emotions, thoughts, memories. This can also be as simple as being overly intuitive, and perhaps knowing something that they just shouldn’t know. This is an ability you are born with. Site Cap: 5 characters (0/5) |
Elemental - Air | The ability to use the elemental forces through magic. While everyone can cast an Incendio and fire will appear, Elementals can utilize an element in a different way, without even needing their wand. Control, discipline, and restraint are very important, since emotion-influenced and impulsive or reckless use of this power can be catastrophic. It can also drain someone’s energy quite quickly. There is air magic, earth magic, fire magic, and water magic. It depends on the strength of the elemental on what they can achieve. An air elemental could bend air, could control and manipulate it. Depending on the strength of the elemental, this could include hurricane or tornado creation, which makes it extremely dangerous if an elemental is not disciplined. It could also be used as a weapon, specifically with pressure manipulation. An elemental commonly has only one element in which they can control. On extremely rare occasions, they will have a hold over more than one. Air and water, specifically, go well together and can give a powerful elemental control over storms.This is an ability you are born with. Site Cap: 3 characters (2/3) |
Elemental - Earth | The ability to use the elemental forces through magic. While everyone can cast an Incendio and fire will appear, Elementals can utilize an element in a different way, without even needing their wand. Control, discipline, and restraint are very important, since emotion-influenced and impulsive or reckless use of this power can be catastrophic. It can also drain someone’s energy quite quickly. There is air magic, earth magic, fire magic, and water magic. It depends on the strength of the elemental on what they can achieve. An earth elemental can use earth and rock — dust, lava, mineral, mud, sand… they can sense and perceive vibrations in the earth, and certainly a powerful one could cause avalanches, earthquakes, mudslides… An elemental commonly has only one element in which they can control. On extremely rare occasions, they will have a hold over more than one. Air and water, specifically, go well together and can give a powerful elemental control over storms. Elemental - Fire | The ability to use the elemental forces through magic. While everyone can cast an Incendio and fire will appear, Elementals can utilize an element in a different way, without even needing their wand. Control, discipline, and restraint are very important, since emotion-influenced and impulsive or reckless use of this power can be catastrophic. It can also drain someone’s energy quite quickly. There is air magic, earth magic, fire magic, and water magic. It depends on the strength of the elemental on what they can achieve. A fire elemental can create, shape, and manipulate fire. A strong one could even insure they are not harmed by it. They can control the heat of a fire, can shield anything or anyone from the flame if necessary. Some can control magma, and plasma, or even the smoke that goes along with the fire. An elemental commonly has only one element in which they can control. On extremely rare occasions, they will have a hold over more than one. Air and water, specifically, go well together and can give a powerful elemental control over storms. Elemental - Water | The ability to use the elemental forces through magic. While everyone can cast an Incendio and fire will appear, Elementals can utilize an element in a different way, without even needing their wand. Control, discipline, and restraint are very important, since emotion-influenced and impulsive or reckless use of this power can be catastrophic. It can also drain someone’s energy quite quickly. A water elemental can control water, can bend it, and manipulate it, including changing it from one state to another. A fun little trick would be water walking, changing water pressure could be dangerous, and obviously whirlpool generation and tidal wave generations are proof of a powerful water elemental. An elemental commonly has only one element in which they can control. On extremely rare occasions, they will have a hold over more than one. Empath | This is the power to fully interpret the emotions, moods, and temperaments of others. Sometimes being able to sense emotions can even help an empath to determine if someone is lying. Depending on the power of the empath, they may be able to sense emotions over a great distance, or heal emotional wounds by taking the pain into themselves so that the victim no longer feels any pain. Sometimes, they can also use empathic projection to project their emotions onto another person. This is an ability you are born with. Site Cap: 5 characters (2/5) |
Legilimens | This ability is used to enter the mind of another in order to gain insight about them, assuming that the person can correctly interpret their findings, as the mind has many layers. Naively called mind-reading by Muggles. |
Metamorphmagi | A character with this ability can change their physical appearance at will. It is extremely rare. They are born, not made, and it is commonly a hereditary trait. You do not need to put a level for this ability. This is an ability you are born with. Site Cap: 5 characters (0/5) |
Occlumens | This is the opposite of a Legilimens, as this power helps to protect the mind from being penetrated by someone attempting Legilimency. |
Seer | A seer can see into the future using their Inner Eye, and can predict prophecies. True Seers are very rare, and it is a very complex art. You do not need to put a level for this ability. This is an ability you are born with. Site Cap: 3 characters (2/3) |
Wandless | This brand of magic can only be used by extremely disciplined and powerful witches and wizards. It is the art of using magic without a wand, and is extremely volatile. |
