Mandy likes to say that she wasn't held enough as a child, but that was a lie, from the moment she was adopted all Syril and ALyssa did was want to hold their baby girl, but it was hard to handle her and her hyper ways when she was a child. She begged and pleaded for a siblong. Anyone who could spend time with her, but it didn't see that that was going to be the way. She had a puppy and that was it. The only solicse she had was when her 'Uncle Miles' came to visit them for dinner once a month. It was always really fun to see what he could be bringing her and it proved to be pretty great every time. 

He stopped coming to visit when she was about to start school and she was pretty sad about it, her parents said that he was always too busy with work to make time to stop by, even  if it was for a few hours so she pushed it away and moved on with her life. School was great and she met her best friend her first day. Kit Virell was a good guy, a year older he took her under his wing and flirted with her every chance that he got. It was pretty great knowing that he had her back and he helped keep her safe when things at the school started going crazy, he made her feel better when she cried. 

She could honestly say that she loved no one like him, and that is what made it so complicated and hard. He was her first and she his, they had a bond that went beyond just friendship but they didn't date then, they just hung out and had some laughs, but that was when they were on again and off again in that time frame. She didn't regret it, but the ppor guy was so broken hearted when Gen got engaged, he still had no idea how the cold hearted bitch could do something lilke that to Kit, but she got over it. 

That all changed when he died. She knows he's not now It pretty much destroyed her, and she went into a pretty harsh state od depression and did something very stupid tht she lived to regret. Christmas was fun though, Kit came home. home he was alive, he was real. Merlin was she happy to see him and it was a great break, a damned good one and knowing that he was there any time that she swung by her house, the hard part was the feelings that came, the love that grew and then when he left her. Yet a-fucking-gain again. He went back to his fiance and she was left to clean up the mess she had yet to tell him about, a child. She was pretty sure that it would have been a girl, but she had taken a potion and it was done. It was over with and there was nothing more she could do. 

Now she is in her finly year at school, he's back and he knows. It's not so easy any more, but sooner or later it will all be alright.

An act of rebellion Romilda Vane and Miles Bletchly got together for the simple reason that they had nothing more to do. They didn't date per say but they did fool around, a lot and before they knew it Lord Vane found out. It didn't go well, needless to say.  Romilda didn't have much to say about the whole thing when they forced the engagement but she was going to do what she was going to do regardless.  The families were not happy but things were fine for a while and then Miles made the decision to break up an go back to Morag. Not that Romilda could blame him. 

As her pregnancy progressed she went to offices and set up for an adoption. What she didn't know is that the man that she set it up with was someone Miles knew, someone Miles paid to adopt the baby, and in turn he was able to keep an eye on the kid. Romilda gave birth to a daughter and didn't even hold the baby, just let them take it away and took a shower and the pain potions they gave her. She wasn't happy about them asking her to pump her breast milk to make the baby healthier, but she didn't care because she didn't want the kid in the first place. 

Syril and Alyssa took the baby home right then and there, which they named Amanda, but chose to call her mandy instead. When they had her home and safe they raised her in the only way that they knew how. To be like them.
