[attr="class","textbodmungo"]Anna was exhausted. A normal twelve-hour shift ate away at her energy a lot more now that she didn't have her magic. It drained her like never before. Not being able to summon something, or set bones with a quick spell, meant that Anna was speed-walking from patient to patient and doing everything by hand. She was keeping up, just barely, but it was still a struggle. It was by the skin of her teeth--but she was determined. Anna had always loved her job and that passion had not died down even in the slightest now that she no longer had her magic. She felt discouraged, yes, but she was still passionate. She still wanted to be an amazing nurse and take care of people. And--well, this was a road block. That was putting it lightly, but for the sake of keeping things simple, it was a road block. She hadn't seen it coming at all, and it had certainly made things in her life go a lot slower. So much so that Anna was feeling a little lost, if she was being perfectly honest with herself.
But she didn't want to voice that, because she was trying to find herself. Anna was working hard to get better at her job, to make herself a worthy asset. She knew it wouold only be a matter of time before people started talking treatments or cures, and Anna wanted to be a part of that as soon as it took off. She wanted to be involved in the path to recovery of her world. As much as she was learning to manage without her magic, as much as she knew she could still make an amazing nurse, magic had been a part of Anna's life from a young age. It was a part of her soul, and every time she forgot she had lost it and tried to draw her wand just ate away at her spirit a little more. Anna--she just wanted things to go back to normal again. A life where her biggest worries were whether Bee had eaten dinner and finding out what boys Kasey was seeing. Not one where she had to clean her clothes every other day because they were covered in soot, since the only way she could get to work now was by Floo. Or, well, she couold side-along apparate with her mum. Either way, there was a lot of queasiness involved.
Anna stumbled out of the floo into her apartment with a small sigh. Her night shift had gone all right, really, and then she had paid a visit to an old school friend, so her day was really normal on the surface. Just subtract the part where she had walked about fifteen blocks to find a Floo she could use to get home. Still, she was home, and all Floo issues aside, Anna felt like this had been one of her more normal days ever since this crisis had started. She had had a good day at work. She had hung out with a friend, even talked to Alice about her little coffee date--for a moment, Anna had forgotten about everything else. And now she was home, and home was always... really nice. Just her and her sisters in a cozy little apartment. Magic loss aside, this place could always put a bit of a smile on Anna's face. It was her comfort zone. The one place she could turn to when she just needed to unwind, vent, and be herself.
Dropping her bag on a nearby chair, Anna strolled into the living room and glanced around for a moment. She couldn't exactly see anyone, so unless Bee and Kase were still at Lufkin... "Hello? Anyone home?" Anna called out. "Kasey? Bee?" One of them had to be home. Or both. Anna headed into the kitchen, reaching for some mugs and hot chocolate mix, deciding that if anyone was home, they were due for some hot chocolate and chit chat. Overdue, really.
