[attr="class","textbodvamp"]Zaleska didn't really know why she had made her way to Ireland of all places, but she supposed it was all right. After all, she did have a boat docked in Galway, but it was one that she didn't use all that much. And never before had she ventured far enough to end up to Wisher's Isle, although she had heard of the place in the last century. It was popular for its dragon school, which Zaleska found rather intriguing. She had a feeling she would have liked studying dragons, if she had ever had the opportunity to hone her magical skill. Either that, or healing magic. After all, Zaleska had spent a great deal of time practicing midwifery, and the like. She had been the one to deliver Tasya, all of those centuries ago, which was so strange to think about now after everything they had been through. It was stranger still to see the magical world, especially the British one, and realize that that could have been a part of her own life, had things gone down differently. Had she not been a princess born into a world of religion.

Honestly, it was shocking no one had ever tried to perform an exorcism on her.

But the past was in the past, and while that life seemed so beautiful and tempting, Zaleska loved the life she had. It was unique in its own way. The alternative would have been death, and while she was technically dead... it wasn't the same. Maybe she couldn't go out in the daylight, and she could never have access to her magic again, but Zaleska thought she had gained so much more. Time with her father that she had never had as a mortal. Erzsébet and Tasya, who made up so much of her life that Zal couldn't really imagine how things would be without them. She could reinvent herself every few decades, always trying something different, and she quite enjoyed that.

Zaleska had docked her sailboat on Wisher's Isle and then, checking the time to make sure the sunrise was a long ways away, made her way onto some of the trails of the island. She had come upon the quaint well after nearly half an hour of walking, and it looked rather nice in the moonlight. Ironic, really. Zaleska's childhood memories of wells were of those painted and built to honour saints. Public ones, that she would be dragged to by her governess to pray for the darkness within her to be expunged. But this one looked so mundane. So simple. Zaleska approached it and peered over the edge with some curiosity--until the slightest sound of a footstep caused her to turn around sharply and focus her eyes on the newcomer. She remained silent, daring the person to speak first. Trying to figure out if they were mortal or... otherwise.

[attr="class","tweedles"] Going out at night, especially alone, was something JJ liked to do to clear her head. Jesse preferred to stay home and binge whatever show had caught his fancy that week, which was good for the both of them. It meant they rarely intersected when they needed time themselves. With the last full moon almost two weeks behind them and the next one in about two, she was in that perfect middle ground where her senses were just beginning to strengthen and stretch but her emotions were still level. She didn't often venture outside Britain, but Ireland was close enough and the scenery was a refreshing change from the bustle of the city, the ocean air felt crisper. Jesse didn't understand, even he enjoyed a nice stroll every so often, but JJ didn't need him to understand as long as he let her do it. Not that he could stop her if he wanted to, but it was nice that he didn't try. All nine of her brothers were overprotective, and she loved them for it, but it wasn't always--or even usually--necessary.

JJ was just approaching the well on Wisher's Isle when she smelled it. That ever distinctive smell of a vampire loitering nearby. JJ didn't have anything personally against vampires in general, and really didn't understand the people who did. Sure, they drank human blood to survive, and some of them killed their victims when they didn't have to, but there were good ones out there. In the end, they were no more monsters than werewolves, and it'd make JJ pretty hypocritical to call them monstrous when she didn't consider herself one. They were, however, dangerous. She couldn't be sure which type of vamp she'd end up meeting, and that put her on edge enough to heighten her senses all the more. Still, she kept a polite face and smiled when she got close enough to see. "Hello," she greeted softly.

[attr="class","textbodvamp"]The humans Zaleska had encountered in England were quite problematic. And by that, she meant that they really did make their own problems. The magical ones, at the very least. It was like they did not have the capacity to learn from history--although Zal supposed there was a difference between experiencing and reading about historical events. Maybe the act of reading didn't quite stick with them as it should have. Maybe they didn't have the mental capacities to process such complicated matters. Whatever the cause for their blatant ignorance, Zaleska thought it was rather dismal. How sad life must be, to be reliving the nightmares of the past in an entirely different time. She supposed, though, that idiots were incapable of seeing their own idiocy. If that was the case, she had a feeling life would have been much simpler for all of them

No, humans did not possess that ability, though, and they had quite the talent at running around like headless chickens. It could have been that they enjoyed it--but Zaleska wasn't sure. After all, it had been so long since she had been mortal, that maybe she had forgotten entirely. There could have been some enjoyment, in feeling like life was stressful and panicking over trivial matters. There was an epidemic going on and the poor simpletons still worried about nobility. Well, nothing had changed in that regard, since Zaleska had been mortal. People still fought and argued over the silliest things while whole civilizations died out at the hands of something that might have been stopped. Pitiful, really. It likely didn't help matters considering that the current Minister seemed to be taking notes from some of the worst muggle dictators--or maybe she had had the pleasure of meeting with Rasputin's ghost? That would explain a lot. That man had always had an interesting way of playing with people's minds, even in death, most likely.

Time to think helped. Erszébet was good for explaining the more scientific things to her. She had always been brilliant in that respect. And her father could prattle off about politics and numbers to her in a way that Zal might make better sense of what was happening around her. Ultimately, though, it was time alone that allowed her to truly mull over her thoughts. She hadn't really expected anyone else to be around this quaint magical island at this particular hour, so late in the night, but that didn't matter. Zaleska's senses were sharply tuned at this point in her life, and there was very little to worry about when one was already dead. Her sharp gaze settled on the woman--easy to sniff out, a werewolf. She seemed... cautious. Uncertain. That was quite fair, her own senses had probably alerted her to the presence of a vampire, and it was much too far from the full moon for the woman to be even the slightest threat. Zaleska returned her smile, ever so softly. "Good evening," she greeted. "I did not think many would be around at such an hour."
