[attr="class","reasonbodisobel"]Isobel had been so excited about Hermione and Harry’s return to London that she’d nearly forgotten her errands for the day. She’d wanted to pick up a few things at the market for the shop and run a few ideas by her employees for how they could better market to those suffering from Epidemic X, but her reunion had gone on longer than she’d anticipated. Not that she minded, really. In the slightest, actually. Isobel had been so excited to see Mione and to catch up on everything that had happened that she blamed herself for losing track of time.
By the time she’d caught the train to Ottery St. Catchpole, it was well past the time the morning market closed up shop. Without magic, travel was made even more difficult. They had to hop trains and catch cabs. Isobel knew they couldn’t even use broomsticks any longer – not that she had ever been particularly fond of travel by broom, but still. Fortunately for Isobel, she knew a few people in Ottery that would be glad to see her.
It was her second time in Ottery in a few weeks – but she never got tired of the picturesque little village. Maybe she could convince Michael that they should move out to the country when the kids got a bit older. Perhaps when Pearson went off to Hogwarts.
That day was fast approaching, as much as Isobel didn’t want to admit it. In only a few years, her youngest son would be on his way to Hogwarts to join Riannon on the adventure of a lifetime. Honestly, she didn’t want to think about it too much. The prospect of being an empty nester was unsettling. Though, she knew Michael would be quick to remind her that their nest would only be empty nine months out of the year. It wasn’t like the kids were going off forever. Is just had a tendency to overreact – jump to the worst conclusion and run with it until someone slowed her down.
When she finally arrived in Ottery, Isobel knew what she wanted to do. She wanted to see Cho. They’d been friends since Hogwarts – dorm mates and even Dumbledore’s Army comrades. Popping by The White Rabbit – which she was now rather fond of given that she knew how to order a cappuccino, she grabbed two coffees and made her way down the streets. Her feet knew the way to carry her, Isobel arrived at The Quibbler’s offices and immediately found her way to Cho’s cubical. Standing there, she grinned down at her friend.
“Hey, Cho,” Isobel said, standing in her doorway and raising the cups of coffee with a smile. She’d always liked her cousin. Something about Meredith felt more like home than her own siblings. “Brought you a three p.m. pick me up.”
