[attr="class","textbodshop"]Gabriela did try to branch out, when it came to the vineyard. She wanted her wines to be special, of course, and people certainly went to Valkyrie Vineyards in search of something new and different. But she also knew that this was a business, at the end of the day, and there was a certain level of importance to be placed on branching out. It wouldn't hurt to have her wines in some restaurants--but only a small selection, of course. Just enough to pique the curiosity. And only the best of the best restaurants, as far as Gabriela was concerned. She wouldn't allow her well-crafted wines in some sleazy pub. No, that wouldn't do. She was aiming for restaurants with a dress code. Gabi was far from a preppy or snobby person, herself, but she thought her wines were meant to attract a particular caliber of person. And that caliber of person typically went to a restaurant that dictated dressing nicely, and had a steak at a price that made your stomach drop a little. Something her wine would surely pair well with.
She had flooed all the way to Scotland, to a rather nice restaurant, and she had met with the owner to discuss some options. It seemed like a good option, and then Gabi had been invited to stay and try out some of the menu, of course. So they were making a good impression, so far. It would certainly be nice to have them in their good graces.
Gabi had been investing herself in the vineyard a lot lately, if only because losing her magic had been... rather sad. She hadn't expected it to happen. She hadn't had symptoms when Rico had first gotten sick--but then it had hit her, a couple weeks later, so now she was wondering if some of the Veela magic had protected her. Not that it mattered--her magic was gone now, and that was that. Gabi was managing, but it still stung a bit. She had lost a part of herself, even if she was surviving without it just fine. But there were other things to worry about. The vineyard. And the wedding, which... well, the planning was going all right, save for the part that her and Rico would never be able to settle on a date as long as the borders were still closed. And he was much too fearful of her mother to suggest eloping, which was just basic common sense.
She was seated at the bar, waiting on the food and sipping at some wine--her wine. Of course, her wine. It was a relatively quiet day for the place, but she had an inkling they got busier at night. There was a movement in the corner of her eye, though, and Gabi turned to glance at who had just sat down near her with a light small. "Good afternoon," she greeted, her accent standing out as it usually did, even after all these years in England.
