[attr="class","reasonbodroxanne"]She wasn’t usually in the habit of asking other people for things. In fact, Roxy liked to pretend that she could do it all herself. Get in trouble herself? You better bloody bet on it. But break into the Potion’s Storage Room? It was iffy. For one thing, Professor Malfoy had taken it upon himself to deck it out in all sorts of alarm spells. He probably had his name written on all of the ingredients so they couldn’t be sold on the Black Market or something.
But she needed to refresh her supply of
Because she couldn’t wait until Saturday when they would be allowed to travel to Hogsmeade. By Saturday, it would be too late!
But she didn’t even have Potions, today. That was the trouble. Fortunately, she knew a Gryffindor that did. Amanda Baker was a teaching assistant for Professor Malfoy. She was good at potions and helpful, herself. It just so happened that Roxy could call her a friend. Which, at this precise moment, definitely played to her advantage. If she could convince Mandy to break her into the storage closet, she could grab a few ingredients and get in and out without anyone the wiser.
She only needed a few things, anyway. Just a few exploding powders so she could finish up the batch of fireworks that she was working on. Roxy was planning to put on quite a show outside the Shrieking Shack on Saturday night. She just had to make sure that everything was ready.
Popping her head into the dungeon, she looked around. Everyone was grouped together and she spotted Mandy helping out a pair in the corner. Perfect, she thought, sliding in and avoiding the piercing gaze of Malfoy. So long as she didn’t get caught right away, this just might work out. Plus, it wasn’t like she was going to have Mandy go down there right away and give the stuff to her. Roxy was smarter than that. She’d give her a list and maybe Amanda could bring the ingredients back to the common room.
Finally, she made it to Mandy in the corner and pretended, momentarily to be absorbed in reading over the shoulder of the girls that Amanda was helping. At least, until there was a break in the conversation. “Hi, Mandy, fancy seeing you here at this hour,” she said, momentarily feigning surprise that they’d run into one another here. Though, Roxy knew it was orchestrated. After all, she wasn’t even supposed to be here. “How much do you love me?” Roxanne asked, offering the girl a bright smile that looked extraordinarily mischievous. Age could take Fred and George Weasley out of Hogwarts, but there would always be a legacy, she thought.
