You make me
Very Merry Happy

December 25th 2018
Arington fam flat

Christmas was one of her favorite times of the year. She had always loved it, the pageantry, the lights, the spectacle. She really loved that it mean that Harvey and Osteros would be coming home. Seeing her favorite older brother and Harvey too was never something that she wouldn't look forward to. Oh, yeah. And Summer being there was okay, she supposed. She loved her family, there would never be any doubt about it. Her siblings and her father were all that she had in this life (other than her friends obviously) and she was glad that times like this they could put aside the petty sibling bullshit and just have fun. Though, when it came to Summer there was no line. As she sat on the couch texting Mona, laughing at the fact that she was in the gym instead of opening gifts she looked up to see her older sister came back and slapped Winter, laughing like mad. "Off guard that's a foul!"

Shoving the phone into her pocket Winter got up and chased her sister through the flat, laughing and swatting at Summer's backside, they came to a stop though when their father came to the room and both went to the couch and jumped over the back of it simultaneously and landed to look at each other and smile. She and Summer had an interesting relationship. Summer blamed her for killing their mother, and while she had technically been right, it was not something that had been done with malice, she had not been in control of anything, she was nothing but a babe then, but that was still not enough. She knew they all blamed her, even their father. She could see it in his eyes sometimes when she caught him watching her.

Maybe they wished that she had died instead of her mother, maybe that had been something they all felt but if they did, Osteros never told her. Her oldest brother was her favorite because he didn't act as if he hated her if anything he spoiled her and it made her feel like she was a queen. He was the one person she loved to spend time with besides their father, but there was just so much unspoken by the eldest Arington that he made her uneasy at times.

The door opened and she got up, making sure that her phone was in her pocket and ran toward her brother when she saw him, putting arms around him in a tight hug.

"Hey! You're late!"

It was no surprise that Harvey was an emotional mess some days but his girlfriend was out there somewhere and he was here raising their son. He would not trade fatherhood for anything. He loved Silas and he still loved Rosa even if she was on the run. He was managing as best he could on his own and he appreciated all the help he got. It was going to be easier over the next few days with his sisters home from school. He hoped that they would be able to watch Silas for a little bit through the day when he had to work or run errands. Sure, the Qudditch season was not running but the European Cup was coming up in a few days so he would definitely be interested in which brooms were being used by the different teams especially the big players. It was bad timing that the borders were closed and he was not able to attend the matches. Perhaps it was a good thing too, he would have no one really to watch Silas while he was away. He could take his son with him but it would be difficult to work around his schedule.

Both he and Rosa had discussed having a schedule for their son before she had gone on the run. He knew it was important Silas had both parents raising him but with what Muggleborns were going through or the lives they were forced to live. It was important that Rosa leave to save herself. Harvey knew it hadn’t been a hard decision for her to make and he missed her terribly. He tried to write letters to her when he could or when he felt like no one would track his owls. As far as he knew, snatchers weren’t out to take muggleborns forcibly anymore. But he also knew things could change overnight.

It was a bit like the epidemic that had swept through the magical world. He was glad he had not fallen sick. He was happy to remain free from illness. He would have missed Silas so much and he feared he would have missed some milestones. He was now eight months and crawling everywhere he could. It wasn’t surprising for him to find his son crawling to spots behind their sofa. At least Harvey had picked up on it early enough and he knew where to look for him quickly enough if he was out of sight.

Today he was looking forward to spending time with hs family to celebrate Christmas. He hoped Silas enjoyed his first Christmas but he wasn’t going to tell his father if he did or not. Having a key to the flat he opened the door as he carried his son in his other hand. Silas was looking around everywhere he could. Harvey was very amused just how curious his little one was about everything around him. He knew he wasn’t the favourite of his sister’s but he didn’t mind, he didn’t feel like a complete stranger either. ”I am not late, if anything, I operate to the schedule of this little guy” he smirked nodding to his son who was smiling cheekily at @winnie.

At least we are together
I know I'm not alone

This time of year was Osteros' most favorite. Ever since his graduation it was one of the few times of the school months that he had been able to see his sisters. Try as he might to make an appearance for Hogsmeade weekends it wasn't always feasible. He had his work, many jobs as it were, and of course his experiments. Seeing his sisters was always wonderful, but what made this time of year most special to him....were the deaths. The week spanning from Christmas Eve to New Years Day was statistically the deadliest time of year. If anyone should be able to attest to that, it was most certainly him.

Every year about this time his inquiries for a hired hit man skyrocketed dramatically. Why, he didn't really know-- perhaps some saw it as a belated Christmas gift to themselves. Or maybe they simply came in contact with more money, as a gift perhaps? Either way he was excited to know that, as of yesterday, he was about to be a very busy man. On that alone he had been wearing a smile the last two days. He had been pushing down the guilt he felt for what he had done to Helios, and he swore to him that things would improve. Spending time with him was difficult, given the holidays and increased workload on his parlor. Osteros hoped to not disappoint his lover any more.

Today he tried his best not to think of that. It was Christmas, after all, and he was most excited to spend the holiday with his family. It was Silas first Christmas after all, something he considered somewhat of a momentous occasion even though the little one likely wouldn't know what was going on. Still, watching the wonderment on the boy's face as he gazed around as Harvey lead him into the flat. Osteros smiled at his nephew, wondering just what was going on in his mind. He came in just a few paces behind his brother and nephew. "
I, too, operate on Silas time I'm afraid," he  joked, giving his brother a soft clap on the back. Winter came running to them and he happily took her in for a hug, having been most eager to see his closest sibling. He offered a nod at Summer, knowing full well that their boundaries never quite crossed in the same way.

"What have you two been up to? Staying out of mischief, I should hope." As harsh as it may have seemed Osteros ignored his father's presence. He had never been terribly close to the man, which was likely the reason that he had nearly forgotten to get him a gift. Which reminded him: "I've got a few last minute gifts for under the tree,"  his one hand raised to show a few small bags. His eyes, unconsciously trained on his father as his thoughts ran through him, turned back their attention to the tiny child in his brother's arms. "Mostly for you little man." Osteros tickled his nephew's arm with a free finger. He always found the boy utterly amusing, but with as busy as he was he didn't often get to see him. "I won't be able to say little much longer. Merlin, he's getting bigger by the day. What are you feeding him?" His tone was light as he gave his brother a playful jab with his elbow.
