@adrianne
Getting to meet his father over the holidays had been something different. The man had been interesting. At least learning of his name had given Giacomo some idea where his middle name originated from or what had been his mother’s inspiration for the name. Obviously he had no experience in one night stands but he figured the two of them must have traded names during the night at some point. Now he had met Magnus, he was still not sure what to make of him but it appeared that he was very sure of himself and Giacomo wondered if he was like that in the slightest. He had no aversion to having that kind of attitude but was definitely much more quieter than his father. There was nothing wrong with that either.

He had woken up with the intention of writing to his father. Others who had grown up their dads knew what to write instantly and involved asking about things were back home or how things were going at Hogwarts. But what did you write to the man you had just met? Were you supposed to spout out random facts about your childhood? Or did you badger him with questions about himself? Giacomo didn’t see himself penning a letter that included either but he also didn’t want Magnus to think he was some boring Ravenclaw.

Giacomo had dragged himself out of bed and changed into his uniform and gotten ready before he headed down to the common room to write his letter. He ended up writing a rather short letter asking his dad about work and such, just your average small talk but in the form of an Owl.

On his way down he would have to make his way to Owlery to send his letter off. It made him think that his common room and that of the Lions were ideally located, especially for anyone who was looking to drop off a letter on their way to breakfast like he as this morning. Slytherin and Hufflepuff students would have to come up a few flights before they had go down again to have breakfast. Unless they had a morning class on a higher floor or visiting the library.

Giacomo walked into Owlery and spotted a bird with dark feathers fluttering about. Deciding to use this owl he began to stride over before he felt like there was a pair of eyes on him. Turning he froze and looked to the girl. ”Uh, hello, morning” he nodded looking unsure of what else to say.

Aneska awoke early with a small headache. She looked around the room to see that everybody else was asleep. She got dressed as quietly as possible to avoid waking them.

Winter break hadn’t been over for that long, but Aneska still missed her family. Tight knit as they were, the usually stayed in contact via owl. Aneska decided the now was as good a time as ever to write a letter. She went down to the empty common room to write.

The content of the letter covered what hat occurred during the year since break and asking them how they were. At the last minute she’d added a quick note on the coming child, asking how the pregnancy was and expressing her excitement once more.

She still didn’t really want to get her hopes up. She still remembered the last time this had happened. Things were different this time. Nothing bad would happen. It still weighted on her mind, leashing her excitement.

She shook her head to rid herself of the thoughts and a signed it with “Kicking the year’s arse,
Aneska”

Aneska sealed her letter and made it to the Owlery a little before breakfast time. It was a bit of an inconvenience to walk so far. She didn’t like the Owlery for all the droppings on the floor either. When she arrived, it was quite empty save for a boy that she recognized to be from Ravenclaw and in her year. She located an owl to send her letter on as the boy greeted her.

”Good morning.” she responded. ”Who do your write to?” It might have been a bit of a personal question, but Aneska didn’t really care. If he didn’t want to respond he could simply say that.

Giacomo wasn’t a loner, he had some friends but the majority of the time he was on his own so others may think he was a loner. He didn’t mind what others thought of him. Being on his own gave him more time to focus on his school work and his music to some extent. Even if he didn’t have his guitar here, he could at least practice reading it. He had never actively pursured the guitar when he was younger but he found himself being drawn to it as he got older. Even if he had no hopes of pursuing it as a career when he got older, he was hoping to maintain it as a hobby. Giacomo knew his love of music stemmed for his mother even though she never pursued it professionally. He wasn’t sure where his father was concerned but his dad had at least was going to listen to him now. He wasn’t sure if he was ready to show his dad that was able to play the Guitar when he got back home next. It was still away at Easter, which was later this year so he had some time to decide.

But he wanted to get to know his father. Part of him wanted that because he wanted to have at least one parent in his life, especially if something happened to his mum. There was still some uncertainty when it came to what was going with muggleborns. He wanted his mum home safe but while she no longer lived in that hellhole that was Kolna, it was still preferable for him to stay with his grandparents. Giacomo didn’t mind it. His Nonna and Nonno had been in his life from day one so he was very used to being around them and he knew how they thought and would react to certain things. Now that he knew his father, it made him wonder about his parternal grandparents. Naturally, he had so many questions about them.

Giacomo had only planned on coming up the Owlery for a short while before he went downstairs for breakfast. He did enjoy the pancakes they served here, though nothing would be those his mum used to make him. He wanted to be able to go home this summer and be able to spend it with his mum after she had bee freed and they could get a new flat. He had not told her that he had contact Magnus as he didn’t want to upset. All those years she had spent to try and keep Giacomo away from his father would seem wasted if he told her about meeting the man.

Finding someone else in the Owlery had been a little bit of surprise, though he should have worked out people would be here sending out letters before they started their day, The question had thrown him off centre. ”Well, this for my father…..and you?” he asked. Giacomo assumed she wrote to her parents as well.
