[attr="class","gummies"] When she was told she could leave Kolna, Miriam had sat there with her jaw slacked for nearly ten minutes before she realized what exactly they meant. It just wasn't clicking in her head, not really. She could leave? They didn't mean it. They liked having them all wrapped up in one place, coming and going where they could double check. They didn't want her to be able to go where she wished. No, that was... That was too much for her to believe. She was sure that they were going to just laugh in her face, chuckle when she asked if that was what they really meant. And then, as they were all attempting to figure it out, she felt like it finally rushed over her. She could go. She didn't have to stay in the apartments. But where was she supposed to go? She didn't want to move back home. No, she had been telling her mum and dad that everything was fine for months, practically years. She hadn't relied on them since she was younger. Besides, she didn't think that it was necessary. Things were going to work out, weren't they? So she could find lodging on her own. And of course, she had friends that she could live with! Caroline would love to have her. Except Miriam hated her roommates, and she felt like she was imposing. It was awkward enough being the friend who was locked in muggleborn housing. She didn't want to push it.

No, she would find somewhere else. And as soon as she sat down to look at the wanteds in the Prophet, she found it. Three bedrooms at Willow Pointe, a place with mixed housing. Mixed! So people couldn't hate Muggles there, and therefore wouldn't hate her, right? So she was in the clear. She had to be. Immediately upon seeing it, she applied for the housing, she insisted that she meet her possible roommates-- and they wrote back. Well, one of them did. Alek. Okay, she could do that. She was supposed to meet all three of the guys: Mason, Alek, and Sam. She was able to do that! She wrote back and got a time and date, and she had immediately apparated to get there. The freedom was really getting to her head; she had forgotten that she had work later in the day, and sometimes, work wasn't too fun. Well, work was never fun. But she could manage. She could completely and utterly manage. Because she almost had a new place to live! She was out of the damp, away from the rats... The rats were the worst part. She felt so, so gross whenever she was there. And she wasn't out yet, of course. She had to see if this was going to be the best place for her. It might not be. It might just be a mess.

Nah. She doubted it. Miriam knocked on the door, practically exploding with excitement. This was going to be amazing. "Hi! I'm Miriam, we've owled? Actually, I don't know if I owled you, per say, since I know three of you live here? Wait, it's a three bedroom? How big is it, really?" Okay, rambling, rambling. That was fine. She smiled winningly. This was going to be fine, she just needed to take a big, gulping breath. "Anyway, hi! Here to tell you about myself, and all that."

People change
some faster than others

Hey needed another roommate to help pull the weight since Mason and Sam didn’t really have much weight to pull. They owned the bar with him, but they worked other jobs, they were more silent when it came to the place and he liked it that way since, sadly, he was the responsible one. Since he was the one who was always getting them out of trouble and keeping them from wreaking havoc on The Griffin. He was the boss, the manager, the one who ran the numbers and they didn’t look good. So he had put the ad out, so that if Mason they missed the rent again they wouldn’t get kicked out of their place.

He had made himself breakfast and cleaned up, leaving things neat and tidy the way that he liked it before showering and spending way too much time ranting to himself about who was using his body chutney. He walked out into the front room and had stood there in disbelief before their guest had arrived, stating that there would be a conversation about when they finished. He walked to the door and opened it slowly and then gave a small smile to the woman. ”Yes, please come in!”

He motioned for her to come inside and made big eyes at his roommates. Okay she was a talker.,. A rather fast talker at that. Great. ”It is technically a three bedroom but we have another room that we have converted into a bedroom as well. “ Moving he sat down on the couch between his two friends and nodded. ”So, tell us about you. What do you do and all that fun stuff. Got any hot friends we can expect to be hanging around.” As soon as he said that Sam hit him in the arm and pointed to the jar. The wanker jar as they called it was his punishment when his friends thought that he was being a wanker. Sort of a punishment for him, but more for all of them really.

”Ugh, really? Come on, that wasn’t that bad.” Groaning he moved and dropped a knut in the mostly full jar before sitting back down.

[attr="class","nuggetwords"]Her life hadn’t been the best thing, not really. She still missed Gavin, even though she knew she really shouldn’t, and she was all sorts of confused about living her life in Kolna and going to work to be tested on. It was kinda weird. Everything was kind of weird. And it wasn’t just weird for her, it was weird for all of the muggleborns. So, once they were released, she had almost thought that she might want to go live with a muggleborn. After all, they knew what she was going through. Of course, it wasn’t really like they would be able to make enough. So, emotional support aside, she really didn’t think that it would work out. They would end up back on the streets again, right? And that wasn’t what Miriam wanted. She would forgo the emotional support in order to have a warm roof above her head, and maybe, just maybe, she could get back to the dragons. That would be better. That would be closer to better.

She wasn’t holding her breath, of course. Miriam knew it would be a long time before they were really able to get back into the world. People were seeing the muggleborns as lower than them, and nobody was advocating.. Nobody was trying to prove that they really, really weren’t too bad. They just had muggle families! And there were far worse people in the world, in Miriam’s opinion. They should really be more mad about the people who murdered someone. Or someone who was trying to take over the world. Or something like that. Not the fact that her mum couldn’t tell a curse from a hex. That was such a ridiculous reason for anyone to decide that she was to be hated.

Then again, not everything made sense to her. She still didn’t understand why Gavin had done all of those things. They were in love, weren’t they? He had said that he loved her. He had promised that he loved her. In fact, he had been the one to be upset that she might not love him as much. And then he had gone and cheated— twice, as far as she knew. He cheated, and she was left miserable. And then he had turned her in when she tried to break up with him. But he had loved her, in his own way. And it hadn’t been as bad as she was remembering, right? She was just sleepy, exhausted… She could barely remember that day. It had passed so quickly, just like most days did.

This day seemed to be going by so slow though. “Like an office or something? That’s cool, that’s cool. It’s rather big in her, isn’t it?” she continued, not at all bothered by her own idle chatter. Miriam did tend to talk a lot, especially when she was nervous. It just came over as white noise to her. “Um, no, I don’t have any hot friends. Or many friends? I just got out of the muggleborn housing. I mean, you lot already knew that. I’m a test subject and former dragon keeper… I mean, the first thing’s not too fun. I miss dragons, though.”
