@elijaha
What on Earth had brought Kiera here today. She did appreciate art but she would never willingly take herself to an Art Gallery. She had not even been to the ones in London since she had moved across the pond but she knew she would have to change that but she ahd taken the train up to Liverpool for a weekend away from the English Capital for a few days. The woman saw no harm with that honestly. Sometimes it was just good to get away. Her coming here to England had not bee an escape but rather it had been a chance for her to try something new, regardless of how daunting it had been.

She had been spending a fair bit of her time on her own. That in itself was something new but maybe this was the changing moment for her. Kiera wasn’t used to being on her own. Even when she had been in boarding school, she had always had people around her. Though her school had been different from Illvermony. She would Cherish all the letters she would receive from her brother when he had been at Illvermony. She loved to hear what he and their sisters had been up to.

It had been vastly different from what she had learned at school and that showed on the path she had taken. She was passionate about marine life and she worked hard on environmental policy during her time at the UN. She knew that the organisation was well respected and she was proud of her time.

Kiera had made her way in from the foyer of the gallery to the first exhibit room. She crossed her hands behind her back as she made her way around. It was bound to be an interesting exhibit. There were a few people about and Kiera was aware of them but she focused her gaze on a display of some very ornate Crystal vases.

ALL THESE BASTARDS ARE GATHERING ROPE
YOU'RE PUSHED INTO HEAVEN ALL ALONE
THEY'RE GRABBING YOUR ANKLES
THEY WON'T LET YOU GO
Elijah had dreaded this weekend for as long as he had known it was coming. The weekend in which Cara worked and he didn't. He assumed it was only fair seeing as she had survived through her own turn, and they had had a weekend together not long before it. Like clockwork this weekend was due to come. Days ticking by in warning. Two more until the weekend, prepare to be bored out of your mind. One day until the weekend, can you already feel the loneliness setting in? It wasn't that he was bad at being alone. The opposite, actually, was the truth. He had been a loner for most of his days at Hogwarts. He knew that solitude and loneliness were not synonymous... But he felt it all the same when he was without Cara on weekends such as this.

The only way to combat it was to simply get through it. He had learned that much over time. Some weekends he made plans with a few mates from work, other weekends when he was feeling more down and out he just slept the days away. This weekend, however, he had made plans. Not with friends, or even foes, but plans to go out and be alone. Not lonely, but at peace with the solitude, he supposed. The Cavern Club had a few promising bands lined up and it had been a while since he had caught any good tunes. Unfortunately it would be longer still, as the majority of the early afternoon bands had been complete rubbish. And that one lad? What on Earth had made him think that throwing beads to a crowd of unsuspecting listeners would be a fun way to brighten up his acoustic set? Merlin, it was an insight to start a miniature Marti Gras and Elijah was simply not feeling it.

Not only was he not feeling a pitiful acoustic Marti Gras, he simply wasn't feeling much like listening to music at all. He decided that he needed an alternate plan for his day. Something quieter, but more engaging to the mind than listening to Wonderwall for the fifth time. Liverpool had much to offer, and much he hadn't seen, but a building he had been passing by had caught his attention. An art gallery. He hadn't been to one in...ever? Had he ever been to one? Elijah wasn't entirely sure if he had and that seemed to pose a problem because....well, he wanted to go!

The tall wizard made his way into the building, following a line of people who seemed far more artsy than he did. He thought maybe he would need a scarf....sooo many of these people had scarfs. And glasses. There were a great deal with glasses and he wasn't entirely sure it was to put off a certain vibe or maybe the art viewing community as a whole was rather blind? Elijah's gaze floated around the room and he noticed that, unlike the scarfed blind art gallery patrons, he wasn't looking at any of the bloody art. Which was kindddd of the reason he was there. His eyes fell in front of him to a piece of art rather than to the people around it and for a moment he was doing it; He was studying art! Look at him go!

The wizards dark eyes looked over the display of ornate crystal vases. He gravitated toward it until he found himself rather close to another patron. "They're quite beautiful, aren't they?" Elijah questioned, glancing over to the woman studying the same vases. "Makes you wonder what the purpose of putting flowers in them would be. The vases are lovely enough without them." It was quite a random thing to say, he was sure of it. But it sounded artsy coming off his lips, and he thought it made up for the fact that he wasn't sporting the Official Art Appreciator's scarf-- was was apparently custom.

Kiera tried to see the best in people but she realised in hindsight, she had looked too far into the wizard she had been engaged to until recently. She had let her feelings get the better of her, something she would never let herself do. Sure, she liked affection, she was human after all but she was also independent and she let herself fall so easily when she had met him. But their relationship was well over now and the woman knew she ought to just move on and forget about him. He was in her past and that was where he was going to stay. He didn’t deserve her time at all. She had better uses for her time. She had come to the UK to study and she was better off on focusing on that.

If she happened to meet someone else in the future, she would definitely be taking her time getting to know them and decking to spend the rest of her life with them. If her friends from high school ever found out she had gotten engaged so soon they would have thought she had been on something. But even her days of doing that were long over. SHe had learned the hard way but she was better for it. Sure, she liked to take risks still because she wanted to live a full life but she knew when to stop.

The last thing Kiera wanted to do was to end up in rehab especially in a country she was still familiar in herself with. Yes, she knew her way around London but knew there was more than the capital. She wanted to see what else was on offer. She knew it was a very historic place and filled with many wonders of nature. As someone who cared about the environment as much as she did, she was going to get out and explore whenever she could.

However, today she found herself inside an art gallery. She wasn’t so knowledgeable about art as other members of her family but she knew when something looked good. Kiera had been to many art galleries in New York but had not been to many in London let alone, other parts of England. But she had made the trek to Liverpool today. Of course, she was familiar with the city thanks to the muggle band with four members who had some big hits many years ago. But she was not going on any tour about that band today, she was at the art gallery today.

She hadn’t expected to find crystal vases in here but she was drawn to them, she couldn’t explain why. She just had basic vases in her own house. But she hadn’t received flowers in a while, nor did she buy them for herself often. Kiera had turned her head when she found that someone was talking to her. She turned and smiled at the man, he looked about her age, but she couldn’t be so sure. ”Well I’m not an expert in art or vases but maybe by putting flowers in them, we would be drawn to admire both the flowers and the vases themselves.” She surmised. No, she didn’t sound like a wannabe art expert at all.
