I'm Not a Nice Person, Please Don't Think I Am

Radella liked her House common room. It was very spacious and well arranged, as any space should be. She's glimpsed the other common rooms, courtesy of her siblings, and while the Slytherin one held its own appeal as well, the others felt too...stuffy and familiar. Like someone tried to fit too much in a space too small for everything. The plants hanging about in Hufflepuff weren't much of an attraction to Radella either. There was class in Ravenclaw, and the windows provided ample fresh air when they were open, allowing those studying to do so with the feeling of being outdoors without the distracting factors of wind and people running about noisily. Radella herself rather enjoyed reading a good book in one of the window nooks at any time of year, though spring was one of her favorites.

She'd just returned from a bit of a family gathering in the Great Hall, something she and her siblings tried to do at least once a week to catch up and provide advice for classes and homework. Terrell was being his usual obstinate self, acting like he hated their little meetings and sometimes tried to weasel out of them with excuses about studying or quidditch or some nonsense about socializing with friends. Like his friends really mattered more than his sisters. Besides, the purpose of the meetings was to help with studying and homework, and he could see his friends any other time. It wasn't so hard to take an hour or two out of each week to see his sisters, Radella didn't think, and it was her duty as eldest sister to make sure the rest of them were staying in line. Just last week, she'd caught Isolda fraternizing with a mudblood, of all things!

It took a second for Radella to register that there was someone else in the common room--there usually was, but she hadn't noticed anyone until now. Of course it was Poppy. Poppy Doge was...alright, all things considered. Radella admired her creativity, if nothing else, though she couldn't help but turn her nose up at almost everything else about Poppy. Poppy showed too much interest in muggle things, and enjoyed doodling on herself--the worst of her offenses, but not the only ones by half. Still, it wouldn't do to be impolite to someone who hadn't done anything to warrant it. "Hello, Poppy," she greeted with a polite smile.
