If your time to you

Is worth savin'
Then you better start swimmin'
Or you'll sink like a stone
For the times they are a-changin'.

It had been nearly a month now. The ICW had been in the United Kingdom for nearly a month. None of the personnel Luiz had brought with him had gotten infected thank Merlin. No one really seemed to be having any grand success either--at least not on the curing it front. He knew Samira had some ideas, but while a month could feel like a long time when he thought about the fact his daughter was about to get out of school for summer break and he wasn't going to be able to see her. It was not actually very long in respect to medical research.

The presence of the international governing body seemed to be having some positive effects, though. Right before their arrival, Nascido Trouxas1 had been allocated salaries... and now, they were permitted to play Quidditch again. Both were steps in the right direction from the registration and subjugation the UK Sangue Puroregime had forced the Nascido Trouxas into. But it was not enough. It wasn't right that only those with medical training or quidditch skill could return to their lives.

It was time for the United Kingdom to take a step back towards promoting the rights of all members of wixen society. Luiz had a meeting with the Minster of Magic today to discuss just that. He was going to tell the woman in the kindest and most politically correct way possible that it was well past time to end the archaic practice her predecessor had put in place. It was time for the registration to end. These citizens needed to be able to return to their former professions. They deserved considerable compensation for the injustice they had suffered, but with the economic impacts of the Epidemic on the UK Treasury, he knew the government could not afford the settlement that the Nascido Trouxas deserved.

Adaline Potter--daughter of the infamous Harry Potter--showed him into the Minister's office as she had done a plethora of times over this last month. The witch excused herself and Luiz gave a small bow of his head to the Minister. "Good afternoon, Lady Minister," Dr. Almeida had chosen to adopt the formal titles the Sangue Puro used in Great Britain. As such, many in the Ministry knew him as Lord Almeida. He had assumed it would help to win over more support within the country for his team, if his blood status was known to those who cared about such things. To those who didn't, he used the title Doctor. He was much more proud of that titel. He had earned it himself, instead of simply being born into the right family.  The wizard smoothed his suit as he took the seat across from the Minister. He gave her a small smile. "I am sure you knew this conversation was near at hand. We must discuss the registration: the repeal of that policy is in the best interest of everyone."
