Its Cal-A on the beat fixed
gear on the flow
I don’t got no brakes all I know is how to go
California born and raised I throw up a W
I got family out in Texas you know Amarillo
Having to go all the way to Godric's Hollow for a cup of decent coffee was ridiculous. It was so extra, it was insane. But it. Was. Necessary. Justin absolutely adored coffee and he hated tea which was a problem when it came to living in the land of tea. And truthfully it was annoying as shit. There were a multitude of places he could go close to home that served teas and coffees but it was blatantly obvious that the coffee was not the star of the show. Back when he had his magic he had always come to The Coffee House anyway. It was the best, dude, bar none. Now that he was without magic it made things....kind of shitty.

Shitty but worth it. He could get his coffee, he could be a nuisance and chat up the employees, especially if it was that Kalila girl who was his fav Barista ever. Today he didn't really have full intentions of chatting or not chatting. Really, all he cared about was coffee. He had told Z that he was gonna go fuck off all day and she seemed to be doing the same. Shopping, writing music, whatever her plans were. Justin's only thought was getting some delicious java in his system and bringing his boo Graci some too. With all the shit going on with Cheyenne he hadn't really got to be around her much lately and he lowkey hated it. He was missing her goofy ass lately and he needed to remedy that.

The smell of the shop hit him like a delicious vanilla scented frying pan to the face as soon as he entered and he felt like he might have honestly fell in love with coffee all over again. He had been a barista once. Baristo? Whatever they were fucking called, he had done it. Not well, unfortunately. If he had done it well he might make his own damn coffee. "Hell yeah!" Justin chuckled upon seeing who it was behind the counter. He made his way over, leaning against the counter to talk to her. "It's that bad bitch barista. What's up my G? You havin a happy Tuesday?

What's Really Good
Now that her family wasn't speaking to her--mostly, anyway; Karida still sent letters when she could--Kalila found she needed her job more than ever. Before, it had mostly been a way to occupy her time and provide a way to meet people with an easy conversation starter. She didn't particularly enjoy coffee herself, but they made a pretty good chai latte here too, which Kalila could get free or discounted depending on whether she worked that day. The parents hadn't much liked her working 'such a demeaning job, Kalila' but they hadn't stopped her, and her father had even argued that having a job as a barista would certainly teach her a few lessons related to being a good wife. He'd still been pushing for her marriage to Riyad back then. Now...well, now the job was actually a little necessary. Oh, her family was still paying for school and her flat, but father was only sending enough extra for minimal food necessities which meant she needed to make her own money if she wanted anything fun. It was a good thing she'd been putting away most of her past earnings, because she didn't have to change her lifestyle so suddenly if she had the means to gently wean herself off the things she was used to. She had time to learn frugality.

Kalila was just wiping down the counters during the lull when an all-too familiar face sauntered in. Justin was...okay, Kalila didn't know how to describe him, honestly. He was sweet, in his own way, but a bit crass and he used slang she didn't understand most of the time. And the tattoos. Kalila didn't judge people with tattoos, honest, but well...there were so many. She didn't understand why someone would want to get that many. A few tattoos? Sure, Kalila had a few ideas for like, four of her own, but the several dozen Justin appeared to have? Gods no. She grinned at him, "It's certainly not a bad Tuesday." It'd been a fairly mundane day, nothing went horribly wrong or horribly right, just...smooth but unremarkable. Customers had come in and ordered drinks, one or two left a small tip, none of them had made a fuss one way or the other about their drinks. Just grabbed them and left with thanks. So. Mundane day, nothing truly good or bad about it. Until Justin, anyway. "Your usual?"
