Viriette made her way around the club, checking on their newest bartender to make sure he was doing his job as she refused to pay someone to do bullshit work. Her brother’s vision was quite spectacular, which she had no doubts that it would be. The atmosphere was alive and energetic, which just made her hungry, really. Thankfully, she had learned to control her cravings after well over a century of being undead. When she fed she was very particular about her meals, and knew the best way to clean-up after herself. Well, she knew how to do that for both she and her brother. He was far more reckless than she was, but he was her world for all intents and purposes. She wasn’t sure if she would be able to keep her sanity without him.

He could be a bit much, her total opposite actually, but things just wouldn’t be the same without him. She enjoyed their travels, and his antics, though she played it off that she didn’t. They had been keeping a low profile, at least she had been attempting to, and that always worked out for the better. After a decade or two they would have to move along so that the muggles didn’t become suspicious, though she normally just suggested they hang out in the wizarding world for a bit before coming back there. It could be tiring, but well worth it. She glanced around the room after she had finished with the bartender to look for her brother. It didn’t take long before she saw his trademark fabulous hair and smiled as she approached him. ”Staying out of trouble, my dear brother?” She asked him when she finally got close.

Jared fixed his black leather gloves and poets shirt with a small smirk at himself in a mirror, before abandoning his latest meal where he lay sprawled gently across one of the couches and navigated his way back towards the main area of The Labyrinth. He had a light spring his his step and his usual mischievous expression on his face, flirting with some of the staff as he danced his way past in a blur of subdued colour and platinum blonde hair.
He was dressed all in black today bar his white shirt, but he had it laced up today for a change. He kissed a passing waitress on the neck and tapped her backside lightly with his riding crop as they crossed paths making her jump but she laughed and smacked his ass back.
Apparently Viriette had been very good in aquiring decent staff this time round...perhaps they'd last longer than normal. His thoughts flicked back to the incapacitated guy in the VIP section and smiled wryly. Perhaps not.

Viriett's problem was that she was just too serious all the time, never the life of the party. Luckily she dealt with most of the bother around this place- if Jared was left to do it he'd kill them. His temper was rather...nasty. He'd have to mention the guy he'd left at some point. "I saw my baby...crying hard as babe could cry..." He sang quietly, tapping his crop against his leg as he navigated the room at a leisurely place, and trailed off as his darling sister appeared. "Viriette, an apparition of beauty." He said teasingly, reaching and to pull her into a brief hug. "Always. There's a guy in the VIP section, should be out cold for a few hours yet." He said passively, tipping her chin up with two gloved fingers. He frowned and rolled his eyes, tilting her head from side to side. "You haven't eaten. Why not?" He demanded affectionately, dropping his fingers from her face with a sigh.

Viriette wasn’t sure what she would do without her brother to keep her on her toes. She was confident that life would be absolutely boring without him. She was all about the numbers, logistics, planning, all of the business aspects of their entire existence. She would never have it any other way though. As much as she tried to take care of them, Jared always did the same. There had been a few times that she had gotten herself into a bit of trouble that he had immediately swooped in and took care of. He was her big brother, and certainly played that well. There was nothing she wouldn’t do for him and his antics were amusing. She certainly could not deny that without flat out lying. From what she could tell, everyone was having a good time, though she hardly expected anything less. The club was always bursting at the seams with people from all walks of life it seemed.

It only took her a moment to spot her brother, not just because of his style, but because of the overall feeling of the immediate area he inhabited. People were drawn to him and she could see why. She smiled and returned his hug before looking him over. She was used to his attire and style, though she couldn’t help but smile every time she saw him dressed to the nines like he was in that moment. Why am I not surprised?” She asked her brother with a quirked eyebrow. At least the bloke was was in the VIP section and not out in the open. Her eyes narrowed slightly as he tilted her chin up to look her over, easily seeing that she had yet to feed that evening. ”Just busy.” She replied before shaking her head out of his hand. ”You know how I get.” She added. It wasn’t uncommon for her to skip meals if she was busying herself with other things.

Ever since they were turned, Jared had done his best to keep both of them in the higher parts of society- they never lived in squalor, never had to beg, and finally had came up with the idea of this little place to keep them busy. Of course, for obvious reasons, he let Viriette take care of all the mundane aspects of the business. He could do it all just as well as she could, the numbers, accounts, the whole lot- but the difference was that she enjoyed it. Which left him all the time in the world to have fun and socialise so he could meet future business partners and such to keep things running smoothly. Which suited him perfectly. "My baby's love had gone... and left my baby blue..."
These days he didn't sing as often but he still enjoyed it when he engaged in the activity- it made dancing more fun as well.

It generally prove fun to mingle with the crowd when he felt like it, and he relished being surrounded by so many people... they were like moths to a brilliant light. He leaned forward and tapped his sisters nose gently with the crop playfully before stowing it in the side of his boot. "Because you've known me for well over a century, perhaps?" He retorted with a smile. It would appear he was becoming rather predictable... he'd have to fix this. He sighed and shook his head in mock-disappointment at her before grabbing a bottle from a nearby staff member who had remembered to present him with his 'usual'. Not that they knew what was actually in the bottle but regardless. He also gracefully took the two glasses offered and turned to Virette with his own arched brown. "Well you can take a break. Drink." He ordered gently as he expertly balanced the glasses and poured an equal measure into both. Jared couldn't help but get slightly worried when his sister forgot her meals. Maybe he should make her take a holiday, just a short one of course, until she was back in top form.

Viriette wasn’t extremely social. She could mingle and enjoy herself, but she wasn’t nearly as outgoing as her brother. She knew he worked hard to give them a good life. There was nothing she wouldn’t do for him. It had been terrifying when they had been turned. She still couldn’t remember how they had managed to get away, but she was glad they had. It had been difficult to figure out how to survive and coexist with humans after the transformation. Sometimes she still had brief urges just to fee on whomever she wanted, but she had learned how to temper them. As much as she wasn’t a big fan of seduction, she did resort to that if needed to get a meal. It was just disgusting to her to have to deal with human men. Of course, on occasion he would come across men that did appeal to her, and those were the ones she typically let live.

Her brother would sometimes be a handful, but she wouldn’t have it any other way. Sometimes she forgot about her own needs when busy, though she enjoyed being busy most of the time. She did forget to take care of herself, but Jared always seemed to be there whenever she needed him, whether she liked it or not. She wrinkled her nose as she leaned away from her brother when he tapped her nose with his riding crop. ”Perhaps.” She replied with a smile. She watched as Jared was handed a bottle, knowing what it was for obvious reasons. There was a good chance she wouldn’t get to feed until later in the evening with how much she was running about, trying to take care of things. ”You are too good to me. Have I ever told you that?” She asked with a genuine laugh as she took the glass from his hand. Sometimes she really did wonder if she’d be able to survive without him.

The night they had been turned had been the night of his betrothal party- the night where it had been announced he'd marry a certain lackwit daughter of his father's friend. He had spent the night avoiding said woman, the only thing touching his lips throughout the hours nothing but wine or brandy - or occasionally rakia - and had consequently gotten rather drunk. Viriette had been his saving grace the whole time what with distracting key people when he slipped past and not saying anything as he stood in darkened alcoves around the room when his father came looking. He had been a terrible influence on her, but luckily she hadn't taken after him.
He was the one that got them out of the carriage though. After they were attacked most of the alcohol had been drained from his person, so while the other vampire began staggering around drunk himself, he scooped up his sister who had passed out and disappeared into the night.
He had been livid for weeks afterwards. Always trying to find things for them to eat, having to hide in their family tomb until they managed to get supplies to leave... he'd had to plant evidence that the two of them had died... And Viriette to this day was none the wiser of most of it. Because he hadn't wanted to trouble her. He was the oldest afterall.

Alas, but it was in the past. And now they were living the high life, living comfortably in a muggle place where they could basically do what they wanted so long as they were careful, and no one was harping at him to get married anymore. Really being turned was one of the best things that could have happened to him.. but he wasn't sure about Viriette. Had she wanted kids? A husband? He couldn't recall. Either way he generally stuck with her even when she was irate at him, and it wouldn't have been the first time that he had saved her hide at night when she had went out and had stopped paying attention to those around her. Stepping out of seemingly empty shadows was his favourite way of scaring the unwitting fools who attempted to stalk her. "You haven't said so in a while, but I know. I can't have my darling little sister wasting away like a waif." He retorted with a catlike grin, taking a sip of his own drink. She really did not look well...And that was beginning to upset him. "Viriette, I understand how busy you are. But not keeping up with meals is a direct violation of our understanding with you running this place. Do I need to take on more help?" He asked seriously, his mismatched eyes boring into hers intensely. He didn't like being bossy with her, but he would be firm where he needed to. And right now she was starting to force his hand.

Things had felt far simpler in their human lives. Well, maybe they weren’t exactly simple, but far easier than the times they had now. She had been a bit put off that their father had been pushing marriage on her brother. She didn’t like the woman one bit, but to her no one was good enough for her brother. Their father had even set up suitors for her, but she outright refused. She hated thinking of giving her life over to some man she didn’t know, only to bear his children and take care of his home. No, she refused to do that. She wasn’t going to be someone’s nanny or maid. She had bigger dreams, though she hadn’t been quite sure what they would be at that point. The only thing she had known was that she wanted more out of her life than that. Their parents weren’t pleased, but she didn’t seem bothered by it. Eventually she would have had to figure something out, but she felt she’d still had time.

Now everything was different. She supposed their lives were better now. They had all the freedom they wanted. They didn’t have to answer to anyone but each other, and even that wasn’t mandatory. Granted, she knew if her brother got stern with her it was for a good reason. He was usually carefree, but it seemed like she had upset him a bit. She hated upsetting her brother, though she knew tthat would be unavoidable at times. They weren’t going to agree on everything, after all. She smiled at her brother as he spoke. He really was good to her, more than he really needed to be. She probably would all but waste away without him. She paused after taking a drink to continue listening to him, furrowing her brows as he gently scolded her. ”You worry too much. I don’t make this a habit, but I will try to do a bit better with keeping myself fed.” She replied almost defiantly as a traditional little sister would.
