Frances "Fanny" Eliza Maddock
26 - Female - Halfblood - 12/17/1989

Beater for Puddlemere United

Appearance and Personality
General Appearance: With bright red hair, an insane amount of freckles and eyes that are a killer shade of blue, Fanny Maddock should be considered beautiful. Of course, the fact that she's normally covered in dirt and blood doesn't exactly do her beauty any justice. Found more often than not on the Quidditch Pitch, the 5'8" spitfire has an athletic build and rock star arms. She doesn't like getting dressed up and is usually found in casual jeans when she can get away with it.
Sexual Orientation: Bisexual
Skills: Fanny's got the strongest arm this side of River Piddle in Dorset and she's not afraid to use it. Her blows have been known to knock a man clean off of his broom during matches. She's also a talented juggler, but careful not to tease her about it, she'll knock you back into a wall if there are any clown jokes. She's got a knack for yoga and insists that the team participates on occasion, much to their dismay, but they're too afraid to outright tell her no.
Weaknesses: Fanny's the first to start a fight or throw a punch in the locker room and she's been put on suspension quite a few times for her temper. She'll defend Celestina Warbeck and forceable team yoga to the grave. She's an awful singer and everyone on the team happens to know it, but that doesn't stop her from belting 'Beat Back Those Bludgers, Boys, and Chuck That Quaffle Here' every time Puddlemere clinches a win. She curses like a sailor, drinks too much and is constantly getting suspended from the team...but they couldn't do it without her - at least, that's what she tells herself.
Positive Personality Traits: Athletic, Confident, Practical, Witty, Passionate
Negative Personality Traits: Spitfire, Reckless, Wisecracker, Hot-Headed, Combative
Hobbies and Interests: Quidditch, Singing, Celestina Warbeck, Bloodying some Quidditch Players, Yoga, Kick Boxing, Firewhiskey, Pubs, Cursing like a Sailor, Spanish Men & Women
Character History:
Drex and Gertie wanted nothing more than for their daughter to grow up to be normal, but she was the furthest thing from normal that they got. She came out of the womb crying and stirring up a ruckus. She was hard to calm down and even harder to pin down. The little girl didn’t want to stay put and always had to be doing something. As a young girl, Fanny took to sports like a fish to water. Even as a toddler, she thoroughly enjoyed playing lacrosse and toying around with rugby.

She spent some time with her brother, Virgil and his mother Abigail, and she found that although she liked her mother, there was something about Miss Abby that she wanted to know more about. Fanny never played the part of the little sister. For years, she challenged her brother, Virgil, with her sass and often beat him in arm-wrestling matches.

Fanny went off to Hogwarts where she learned all about this new side of her. Sorted into Gryffindor, she joined the Quidditch team her second year as the team’s beater. She spent summers with Abigail and Virgil, playing Quidditch in the backyard and talking about all things magical. The enchantment of a new life seemed like the perfect life.

Over the years, she gained a bit of an attitude. She befriended the Gryffindor boys and swore like a sailor. During Hogsmeade weekends, she would get into firewhiskey drinking competitions with her mates and usually, it was her who came out on top. She served her fair share of detentions for this and that – usually sneaking out after curfew or starting a fight on the Quidditch pitch, but no one could deny that Fanny Maddock was a force to be reckoned with when she mounted her broom.

She was poached by the Ballycastle Bats’ reserve team straight out of Hogwarts where she played as their beater for two years. It was then that she met and married a bloke and teammate called Ignacio Bartoleme, much to her brother’s dismay. The man was laid back, funny, but a serious drug user on and off the Quidditch Pitch. He wanted Fanny to give up her Quidditch career to raise children, which sure as hell wasn’t happening on her watch. Unhappy with married life, not even a year later, Fanny divorced him and rejoined the Quidditch ranks.

She’s rotated through a few teams over the years, but she’s been with Puddlemere for about a year and a half now. She likes the team, likes what they stand for and likes that they accept her for exactly who she is: a pretty face with the arm and mouth of a drunken sailor.

Plots and Politics
Where does your character stand in the treatment of death eaters and their families? Fanny doesn't particularly care to get involved in politics, but drunk in a bar, she'll tell you how she feels. She believes the Death Eaters should've all been killed when the Ministry had a chance, after all, they were the ones doing the killin' of people like her in the first place.

How was your character and their family affected by the reign and death of Voldemort? Fanny remains relatively un-touched by the reign of the Dark Lord. Though, ask her about it and she'll be sure to tell you exactly where she thinks Voldemort could've shoved his nose-less ugly face.

Family History:
When Drexel Maran married his first wife, the young school professor had no idea that the woman he had just pledged his life to was a witch. Abigail Maran (nee Gibbs) was a quiet woman with a respect for the beautiful things in life – she loved art and music, poetry, but above all, she loved magic. She hadn’t meant to deceive Drexel, but she forgot to mention her…abilities on their first date. After that, it seemed like a moot point, at least until a few years later when the woman popped out Virgil Maran, their first son who seemed to make strange things happen around him. Plate would fly off the wall and the bubbles in the bubble bath seemed to turn different shapes based on his mood – one morning, Abigail had caught Virgil with twelve little bubble giraffes swimming in the air around him. It was obvious that Abby had to come clean about what she was and what their son and daughter both were: magical.

Drexel took the news about as well as any man who had been lied to the majority of his marriage could. There was a fight, slammed doors and, after a month of no reconciliation, he filed for divorce. They were legally separated a few months later and shared custody of Virg and Fanny.

In the months that followed, he found himself falling for a very muggle, very normal, Gertie Maddock, a bright and fiery red-head from Scotland who seemed to have a mind of her own. She worked at one of the pubs that Drexel had been drinking at – quite regularly, I might add. It was part of Gertie’s personal code that she would never marry, but Drex made her change her mind. He was funny, intelligent and she happened to fall in love with his son, Virgil.

When the divorce became final, Gertie and Drex married, but she kept her last name in a final show of feminist defiance. About a year later, they were graced with a child: Frances Maddock.

Virgil is now married to Dahlia, a woman that Fanny rather likes. Rae, the woman's sister, has also become one of her dearest friends.
