Negative Personality Traits: Stubborn, High-maintenance, Particular, Overbearing
Hobbies and Interests: Wandcraft, Spending time with her children, Sewing, Dancing, Shopping
Character History:
Iseul was born into an arranged marriage between what could only be described as enemies. Sung-ho and Yu-jin both loved their daughter in their own ways, to be sure, but it was clear to Iseul from an early age that they certainly didn’t like each other. She never asked either of them why they hated the other so much, mostly because they seemed to be competing with each other over who could make Iseul love them more. Gifts seemed to be the most common method of attempting to garner her favor, though they also fought over who spent more time with her. As a result of all this, Iseul grew up to be rather accustomed to getting everything she ever wanted and more.

When Iseul was nearing six years old, her magic presented itself when she accidentally knocked over a whole bookcase because she couldn’t find the book she wanted. After that, her parents took to teaching her as best they could until she was eleven and able to start boarding at Mahoutokoro. At school, she excelled in Charms and Transfiguration, while she was only barely passable at Potions and Defensive spells. Still, she managed to graduate with high enough marks to become a Wandmaker like her father.

At the age of twenty, Iseul met the man her parents intended her to marry. Iseul was very against the idea of an arranged marriage, after watching the disaster of her parents’ own, but she eventually grew to like the man her parents had chosen. Love was a far off concept, though she didn’t think it was entirely impossible given time. Still, she didn’t agree to anything until she learned of how wealthy her intended was. Wealthy enough to keep her in the style she was accustomed to, it seemed.

They were married the summer before Iseul’s 21st birthday and managed to conceive within that first year. Iseul loved her son, that was without a doubt in anyone’s mind. Selfish as she may have been, it seemed she still possessed an abundance of motherly instincts and took to caring for her child with passion and gusto. Two years later, her husband came clean about an infidelity that resulted in the birth of another son. More than a little hurt and angry, Iseul locked Nam-kyo out of the house and refused to let him return permanently for a whole year. Two years after that saw the birth of their first daughter, a star in both their lives and the last piece to mend Iseul’s broken trust.

It was as Iseul was in labor with their third child that their first child showed his magic. Flooded with hormones as she was, Iseul cried the second she heard of it. Of course, that wasn’t the end of things, because three years later had her back in labor with their fourth child and second son. Exhausted though content as she was, Iseul declared then and there that four was plenty enough and Nam-kyo could damn well go back to his mistress if he wanted more children that badly. It said a lot about how much she trusted her husband that she was being both entirely serious without expecting him to actually do it.

And then tragedy struck, as it is wont to do when happiness abounds.

A werewolf that got too close to civilization wandered into their home, despite the wards Iseul had put up just the day before, while they were putting the elder three children to bed. Iseul came into the sitting room carrying their youngest and Nam-kyo followed close behind. What followed was a bloody battle that ended with Nam-kyo dead, Iseul bitten, and Joo-won scratched across his leg. It had ended because Iseul had finally gotten hold of her wand and blasted the beast with the killing curse. She had stood there, clutching her baby, gasping for breath and staring at nothing for over an hour before Aurors arrived on the scene.

Single mother with four children under the age of ten was not an easy thing to be, and it was almost a relief to be able to send Kyung-tae off to school and only focus on the three that remained at home. She struggled with the monthly cycles, and it was made even worse with Joo-won’s increasing irritability as the full moon drew near each month. But she managed, somehow, and didn’t end up harming any of her children in the process. Iseul continued on, as she learned to do, caring for her children and sending them off to school when the time came.

After sending the youngest off to school, Iseul found herself with an abundance of time she didn’t know what to do with. So she returned to her education in wandcrafting. She was surprised with how much she still remembered, even though she’d abandoned it with the arrival of their second child. It was a comfort, to go back to something familiar without any unpleasant memories to turn it sour. Now, some years since she’s began, Iseul makes wands. Not in a very professional capacity or even for much of a profit, but she makes them and sells them to various shops or customers upon request. It’s a nice hobby, she will admit.

She’s travelled around the world in order to learn about the various cores and their temperaments. What they each work best with. London has remained a particular favorite of hers, with all the shops and jewelry to purchase, and she has since moved closer for better access to such luxuries.

Plots and Politics
What is your character’s stance on the recent takeover of the Ministry by Death Eaters? She doesn't agree with all the Purist nonsense against muggleborns. She does agree that lines should be kept as pure as possible, however.

Where did your character stand in the treatment of Death Eaters and their families under the late Minister Durant's rule? Criminals got what they had coming to them, as far as she's concerned. She's no extremist, and only wants a peaceful world for her future grandbabies to grow up in.

How was your character and their family affected by the reign and death of Voldemort? They lived in Asia, so they weren't much affected at all.

Family
Parents: Kim Sung-ho - Father, Lee Yu-jin - Mother
Siblings: None
Children: Han Kyung-tae - Son - 30, Han Seo-yun - Daughter - 25, Han Bit-na - Daughter - 23, Han Joo-won - Son - 20

Other Relevant Family: Gim Seung-jae - Han Nam-kyo’s illegitimate son - 28
Family History:
The Kims have been a long line of Wandmakers as far back as their recorded family history can tell. They’ve owned the same shop for generations and source wands out to even more businesses, the accumulated wealth from such an old business only grew with Sung-ho’s ascension to the head of it all.

Lee Yu-jin was the heiress to a large fortune, and the apple of her father’s eye. Her father had been close friends with Sung-ho’s father, and had proposed the match shortly after Yu-jin was born. After all, with the wealth of the Kim dynasty behind Sung-ho, her father was certain Yu-kin would never want for anything. He’d been right as far as material things went.

The pair of them barely met for more than five minutes at any given time, which wasn’t nearly long enough for either of them to learn anything about their intended partner. So it was, that they went to the altar as virtual strangers and left as married enemies. It wasn’t even a passionate hate between them, as they more or less tried to avoid each other for the entirety of their first year. When they did talk, it was with bared teeth and false civility. Unfortunately, their parents were pressuring them for a child, and neither of them were of the mind to disappoint.

So it was, that their daughter was brought into the world while her parents were having an argument.

Other: Werewolves, man.

Iseul is very grateful to be acknowledged as a pureblood, because she literally threatened to take over my head if she wasn't. So thanks for that.
