A lot of things had happened in Alayla's life over the past few months, some not exactly great like her mother cutting all ties with her (although at the same time, that was probably one of the best things to happen to her) but then there were the things she was proudest of, her apprenticeship and her modelling were going strong and she was in her element, she was finally doing things for herself instead of pandering to what people wanted and expected of her. There were, of course, the more confusing things as well, Alayla had gone from being an only child to a half brother and she was still trying to grasp the concept. Will had been nothing but kind to her since Logan had introduced them and he'd explained who they were, something Alayla had to admire because she would be the first to admit she wasn't very welcoming of the news. Not in the slightest but could you blame her? She'd been lied to her entire life by her mother and it wasn't even a small white lie. This was giant and it was something that involved more than just her. But Alayla couldn't say she was too surprised, Aiyana Blackburn was an incredibly selfish person and it had always been that way. But she had to look at it positively as well, she had gained a brother and it was perfect timing, he had shown up just as she was walking away from her mum. A blessing in disguise you could say. Alayla had promised to help Will find out who his father was but the pair had been so caught up, their searching had been minimal, she wanted to know if the father of her brother had been lied to as well, but she was confident she already knew the answer.

Her morning had been the same as usual, Alayla had been trying to find out more information on her mothers past in attempts to help Will, all to no avail, when she received an owl from the other wizard that had been plaguing her thoughts as of late. She and Logan had an intense start to their friendship, jumping into bed together about an hour after meeting and then not speaking until she left Hogwarts where they'd finally started to struck up a friendship that hadn't yet been physical in any way. The letter though could very well change everything and Alayla was in the middle of a panic to say the list. For years she'd never had crushes but there'd been something about Logan that had caught her interest and kept him, he made her heart skip a bit and she couldn't help but blush, smile or giggle like a young schoolgirl when it came to him and the fact that he'd just sent her a letter asking her on a date had sent her into a frenzy. She'd contemplated calling Will and asking what she should do, but she didn't feel that they were close enough for that type of deep conversation just yet and so she'd gone to the next person, someone she was almost disappointed in herself for not thinking of first. She and Imogen had been through an interesting relationship from hardly speaking to become incredibly close friends when Alayla had come across her when she was at her lowest with Kit and Warren. Imogen had probably been one of the first people she'd shown the good side of herself too and it had just stuck.

Alayla knew Imogen would be the perfect person to go to about crushes and boys and she also knew that even though Imogen would probably tease her mercilessly about it, it was a small price to pay. She knew her best friend was having her own issues at the moment with Kit going back to school and the wedding growing steadily closer and she felt bad for the witch, but she also hoped that in her coming over, the pair would be able to help each other. The blonde had most of her wardrobe scattered over her bed as she tried to decide what she wanted to wear for her date tonight but nothing was good enough right now, she had wanted something like this with Logan for a while so Alayla wanted to look and feel amazing. Alayla heard a knock on her front door and she hurried to it and pulled it open, the look of relief evident on her face as she hugged Imogen. ”I am freaking out right now.” She stated bluntly, stepping back and holding the door open for her.

With Kit going back to school a few days ago, Imogen had found it hard to occupy her time in that time. She knew that was pathetic and it made it appear that her life revolved around Kit. It didn’t and nor did his life revolve around her. With him going to back to Hogwarts for his final year, that was even more evident. She knew that she would have university and her dancing but right now she was in a lull with both those things. She needed to pick herself up and get on with her life. She knew what was in her future, it was common for all pureblood witches. Once they reached a certain age they would know that they would get married to a suitable pureblood wizard and probably have a job or to keep it traditional they would be at home and raising a family and giving out orders to their house elves. Imogen honestly did not know if the De Sales family had elves or not. She had grown up with them but she honestly did not see herself having a manor with them. She had her own flat now but she didn’t want an elf here. So it may be a penthouse she still didn’t want anyone to care for her house but her. It wasn’t that she didn’t trust anyone else with her numerous plants, she did but she wanted to prove to herself that she could live her life as she pleased and not rely on anyone. She may have relied on people such as Kit but even still she knew that he had his own set of issues. It was not fair on him at all considering all the trouble she had put him through so far.

She hoped that with him going back to school, he would have a better school year than the last. His father was not there at least and at least he had Samuel to look after him. She knew it had been hard for Kit to board the train two days ago and that he had hinted at dropping. Imogen knew first hand that he was very proficient in potions and that was what he wanted to do when would finish school but Imogen knew that having his NEWTs would serve him well later on. She hated seeing him leave but at the same time she knew that he would be okay at school. Plus she knew that he had Matilda to look after and that she was not the only witch in his life. Imogen was happy that he was there to look after the Ravenclaw at least that would serve as some distraction for the Wizard. Imogen wanted him to be happy and when it came potions no one was able to wipe the smile off Kit’s face given that he was in his element. It was much the same for Imogen being in her element when it came to plants. Of course she had gone so far as to look at he plants when the two of them had gone to the Minister’s bowl. At least Alayla had not had to attend that. It was all a charade and it was one that Imogen was growing steadily tired of.

She had Alayla with her at least and the two of them had grown closer since graduating. It was only in the last year of their time at Hogwarts that they had really bonded. Imogen had not missed a chance to question her friend endlessly about her infatuation with Logan Seppanen. Alayla had never taken to a wizard like she had with the Quidditch player. Imogen was happy for her friend and also slightly jealous of her. She just wished that for herself a partner would be so easy to have. Alayla and Logan were not a couple, yet but that would be about to chance. Her friend had owled her asking her to come over and to make sure she was immediately. Imogen couldn’t help but get the feeling that Alayla was experiencing some kind of emergency but it was not the critical kind. She made her way over to the flat and was just stuffing her house keys into her pocket when the door opened. She gave her friend a crooked grin as she walked in and breaking apart from the hug. ”What are you talking about? It appears to me that you have it all under control….” she laughed as she tied her hair up in bun and stuck her wand in to hold it in place.
