A lot of things had happened in Alayla's life over the past few months, some not exactly great like her mother cutting all ties with her (although at the same time, that was probably one of the best things to happen to her) but then there were the things she was proudest of, her apprenticeship and her modelling were going strong and she was in her element, she was finally doing things for herself instead of pandering to what people wanted and expected of her. There were, of course, the more confusing things as well, Alayla had gone from being an only child to a half brother and she was still trying to grasp the concept. Will had been nothing but kind to her since Logan had introduced them and he'd explained who they were, something Alayla had to admire because she would be the first to admit she wasn't very welcoming of the news. Not in the slightest but could you blame her? She'd been lied to her entire life by her mother and it wasn't even a small white lie. This was giant and it was something that involved more than just her. But Alayla couldn't say she was too surprised, Aiyana Blackburn was an incredibly selfish person and it had always been that way. But she had to look at it positively as well, she had gained a brother and it was perfect timing, he had shown up just as she was walking away from her mum. A blessing in disguise you could say. Alayla had promised to help Will find out who his father was but the pair had been so caught up, their searching had been minimal, she wanted to know if the father of her brother had been lied to as well, but she was confident she already knew the answer.
Her morning had been the same as usual, Alayla had been trying to find out more information on her mothers past in attempts to help Will, all to no avail, when she received an owl from the other wizard that had been plaguing her thoughts as of late. She and Logan had an intense start to their friendship, jumping into bed together about an hour after meeting and then not speaking until she left Hogwarts where they'd finally started to struck up a friendship that hadn't yet been physical in any way. The letter though could very well change everything and Alayla was in the middle of a panic to say the list. For years she'd never had crushes but there'd been something about Logan that had caught her interest and kept him, he made her heart skip a bit and she couldn't help but blush, smile or giggle like a young schoolgirl when it came to him and the fact that he'd just sent her a letter asking her on a date had sent her into a frenzy. She'd contemplated calling Will and asking what she should do, but she didn't feel that they were close enough for that type of deep conversation just yet and so she'd gone to the next person, someone she was almost disappointed in herself for not thinking of first. She and Imogen had been through an interesting relationship from hardly speaking to become incredibly close friends when Alayla had come across her when she was at her lowest with Kit and Warren. Imogen had probably been one of the first people she'd shown the good side of herself too and it had just stuck.
Alayla knew Imogen would be the perfect person to go to about crushes and boys and she also knew that even though Imogen would probably tease her mercilessly about it, it was a small price to pay. She knew her best friend was having her own issues at the moment with Kit going back to school and the wedding growing steadily closer and she felt bad for the witch, but she also hoped that in her coming over, the pair would be able to help each other. The blonde had most of her wardrobe scattered over her bed as she tried to decide what she wanted to wear for her date tonight but nothing was good enough right now, she had wanted something like this with Logan for a while so Alayla wanted to look and feel amazing. Alayla heard a knock on her front door and she hurried to it and pulled it open, the look of relief evident on her face as she hugged Imogen. ”I am freaking out right now.” She stated bluntly, stepping back and holding the door open for her.
