general appearance
very blonde-- there's no doubt that Emma took after her mother.

Her eyes are mostly a greenish-blue. Like both her parents, Emma's face was round in her youth, and sharpened as she grew. She's pretty enough, but when she smiles-- it's bright light, really, brightening up a room. She sometimes braids her hair (she was around Susan Bones a lot-- you don't walk out of that without being good at hair braiding) and likes putting some ribbons through it, as some sort of. . . hope or brightness.

university major(s)
Oh, she'd do cooking
years attended
uhm.

skills
charms unlike her great-grandmother,
transfiguration unlike her dad,
really good balance on a broom! she doesn't understand the last one; because she's not a fan of heights, and neither of her parents were great at it.
she's hyperflexible, and likes twisting her limbs around.
she's also an Empath, but she counts that more of a weakness, because while it makes her great with kids at times, she's more-or-less a Designated Babysitter.
weaknesses
herbology (she's not good at it but she loves it so much),
cannot hide an emotion. She got that from both her parents, and she couldn't escape it.
And . . it's not like she's a prude, not really, but she gets pretty uncomfortable seeing other people being affectionate, unless they're of age and out of Hogwarts-- in age, at least, so PDA. It's not like she's not used to seeing it in general (her parents are somewhat Very In Love, it used to be embarrassing, she has siblings, okay, and it's not that she's walked in on them but it might have been close once or twice), she just is uncomfortable seeing underagers doing it, especially as she can more-or-less feel their emotions.
She's somewhat unobservant of her body at times, often banging shoulders, hips, arms and legs into whatever might be in the way.
Heights-- she's not a fan, which is funny, because she's good at flying otherwise.
lying, usually-- her face goes pink or she gets anxious.
she counts being an empath on here because with how Emma gets visibly flustered and not being able to hide it, can be pretty revealing and embarrassing
Testing anxiety-- she spent most of OWL and NEWT prep worrying she'd misspell her name on the test.
positive traits
Adaptable, adventurous, amiable, caring, brave, chivalrous, compassionate, cooperative, earnest, generous, good-natured, hardworking, high-minded, kind, loyal, principled, protective (seemingly) optimistic, passionate, resourceful, sociable, self-conscious
negative traits
Anxious, argumentative, defiant, hesitant, impulsive, idealistic, impressionable, muddle-headed, noncompetitive, (actually) pessimistic, reactionary, repressed, stubborn, short-sighted, softhearted, self-denying
hobbies/interests
herbology! it's so interesting, don't you know? she loves it. ("you...barely scraped an A" "but isn't it so great?"),
helping others,
reading,
and. . .fire, okay, she likes watching it.
Earth-- she really does like dirt-- it's a whole minor miracle, everything in soil.
Nature-- the world's just beautiful, okay? it's beautiful, and not appreciated enough.
stretching: playing with how her body bends.
she likes staring at things a lot.
healing! mum was a Healer at one point, and so she's done some independent study. minor injuries, broken leg? she's got you!
cooking, that was one thing she learned from dad!(even if she can't quite tell oregano from sage. . .)
she does like flying, but a sight-seer's sort of flying-- low speeds, not too high up.
accomplishments
Controlling Empath abilities, mostly

character history
Emma learned a sanitized version of what happened when she was young. That is-- when she was three or four, and began asking questions. Sanitized in that it was more child-appropriate, but leaving out little of the bigger pictures. Her dad judged it important that his children know what was happening, and why, to understand everything, and her mum agreed. She showed her first signs of magic relatively young-- three or so, bringing a Flutterby blossom back to life. Her parents were overjoyed-- she might have her father's touch with plants!

Unfortunately for Emma, that was the only time she helped a plant. Her dad had a green hand, and Emma's was. . . .orange, red, or purple, depending on which you consider the opposite of green. Plants died easily around her-- she'd drown them, starve them, cut off too much, too little, all with a grin on her face as she tried to help. Neville supported her love of plants, reading to her child's books in Herbology as she fell asleep against him, and Hannah tried having her identify the herbs and vegetables Neville used to cook with. ("Is that. . . spinach?" "That was bok choy, but that was a great try! What's your thoughts on this one?") When it was realized that for all her love with plants, she had no real understanding of them, her father worked with her as long as she was interested in them.

She saw her Lovegood-Scamander godparents, Ginny Weasley, and her mother's friends on a semi-regular basis growing up. Her parents had been so young-- something that didn't start sinking in until Emma was a few years younger than them-- and so Emma was the oldest of the group's kids, except for Ginny's sorta-nephew Teddy, because he was around enough. She had her parents, their friends, a bit less than half her great-grandparents, her mother's father, Uncle Tom (he was. . .someone's uncle on Hannah's side of the family, at least. at one time or another), and she had the Leaky as a playground. Her mother was a Healer, but also worked there, and Uncle Tom owned it, so Emma had the run of the place, as long as she behaved and didn't go poking her nose into the business of others. It was fascinating-- she always felt so cool compared to her family friends.

When Teddy left, she was then the oldest, which was even cooller, because that meant that she had some sort of authority over Aunt Susan's twins and Uncle Ernie's kids and the littlest ones and her little brothers, and no one could question it, not really because it was almost a year and a half before the next-oldest, and that was a lot. And Uncle Tom had given his positions to Mum, so the Leaky was more or less hers. She liked people, she really did-- which might have been partially due to being able to, well. . .empathize with them. Accidental magic continued as usual, and then finally at last she got her Hogwarts letter, and entered Diagon Alley with her family to buy her wand.

Unfortunately, she didn't have her mother's name, so rather than being one of the first people Sorted, she was somewhere in the middle. And with it having been two years after the battle, her year was pretty large, full of people celebrating, and (according to gossip) kids born to Death Eater parents, who'd been married off to make kids to keep out of prison or before the Ministry could notice. Emma didn't really care, though when her name was finally called out, she tried her best to remember her dad's advice ("you won't be rejected, I promise you! you'll get a house, and remember to take the hat off after you're Sorted!")

Emma got homesick, though-- she was used to being surrounded by a lot of other people she'd grown up and known her whole life, and there wasn't that at Hogwarts. She made friends, but it wasn't the same, and Hogwarts was. . .there was McGonagall, and Professor Sprout, but they weren't Mum and Dad, not as much as Emma would spent her time in the greenhouse because it was the closest she could get to her dad when she was at school. Hogwarts was mostly uneventful, but not outside of it-- her mum had Leaky (she did everything-- innkept, managed, barkept when things were low), and therefore had a steady source of information that she'd share with her family, the rumors and the new rules and laws that no one in the Longbottom family liked. It was uncomfortable all together, and Emma didn't know how to talk to most of her friends at Hogwarts about it, especially with the added bit of being a Longbottom. Cousin Cecily technically should have understood the most, because she was also Abbott and Longbottom, but they were on different sides and she-- she wasn't Neville Longbottom's daughter, so she didn't have to feel partially responsible. (Not that Dad was, though! Durant didn't do any good)

Things worsened, and continued worsening. She was "safe" at Hogwarts, because she was-- well, she was only Neville's daughter, barely a thought after Harry's kids started showing up. Emma could fade into the background-- but the fears, the anger, the emotions that everyone else had-- they tore inside of her, built her up and the angerfearlusthungernervesgleepain was everywhere and in her, and Emma didn't know what to do.

So she braided her hair, wound ribbons in it and put on a smile, trying to be good and kind even as people around her weren't. Like she'd learned from her godmother, that took strength, took almost more strength than railing against an unmovable object. Kindness worked better with younger students, helped protect them than anger did, goodness worked better than the (her) rage she kept locked down.

(and one day, who knows? she just might blow, and it will be glorious)

family history
Hannah was a Hufflepuff, Neville was a Gryffindor, and they had several things in common. They were one of the furthest things from blood purists, had old names reaching deep into magical British history, joined Dumbledore's Army, a fear of Snape, experienced the loss of at least one parent, a love of Herbology, and fought against the Carrow reign. Before the War, they were mostly known for unflattering things-- Neville for his nervousness and forgetfulness, Hannah for her OWL breakdowns.

Hannah had decided to be homeschooled after the murder of her mother in the beginning of her Sixth year. When she was forced to return, she found herself growing closer to the generals of Dumbledore's Army than her Hufflepuff friends-- Ernie felt more cloying and restricting, Justin was on the run, and Susan was sharper and angrier after the death of her father-- and especially to Neville, whose living parents were lost to him. She took up an unofficial apprenticeship under Madam Pomfrey, and helped serve as the DA's resident Healer. During the year, during the fighting and hiding and planning, Neville and Hannah started a relationship. Augusta went on the run, after defeating many.

Hannah and Neville both fought and survived the Battle of Hogwarts, and their relationship continued. Augusta participated, dueling and defeating her twin: feared Death Eater Augustus Rookwood.

Neville had killed the last Horcrux, was seen as a hero to many for his rebellions in Hogwarts, and the War was over. But it had left scars, as it always did. Neville's parents weren't any better after the well-deserved death of Bellatrix Lestrange even though Luna and Ginny were alive because of it. Neville was training to be a Herbologist, Hannah to be a Healer. They worked together, and their feelings continued to deepen, grow, and develop.

As for what happened next. . . well, Emma was born roughly thirty-eight weeks after the first anniversary of the Battle of Hogwarts. She'd never bothered to ask questions.
