Jesse is mixed. That being said, he has very light traits, but doesn't appear to be mostly white or mostly black. His skin is always a caramel tan color, his complexion rarely blemished. Acne has never been a problem of his and his skin would appear nearly flawless if it weren't for the small scar on his upper right lip and a eyebrow ring hanging out of his left brow. His eyes are greenish-blue, mostly green or mostly blue depending on the light, what he's wearing, and his mood. When he's chipper and happy they tend to be more blue, and when he's sad or frustrated they turn almost an army green. They stand out vibrantly against his tan skin and he often receives compliments on them.
He dresses pretty plain, jeans, boots, a t-shirt or button up (sometimes both), and possibly a ball cap. From time to time he has studs in his ears, and sometimes he has his eyebrow ring in- but not always. That is about the only thing he changes in order to appear as though he is more nicely dressed. Fighting - Jesse is a skilled fighter. He has been doing it on the streets his whole life and has recently delved into the sport of fighting (albeit underground fighting). He is quick to read his opponents moves, he is quick, agile, and most importantly stubborn as the dickens. He doesn't give up until his opponent is on the floor.
Dueling - His skills in fighting have always carried over to dueling and in school he was very skilled at this subject. Jesse is a natural when it comes to quick spell work and adapting on the fly.
Pissing People Off - This is a terrible skill to have, but he's got it. He can be rude, sassy, and downright nasty when he wants to be. Jesse lives for getting under peoples skin and if he finds a place to burrow he digs his claws deep!
Flirting - Not only is Jesse an enormously flirtatious person, but he's actually good at it too! He has a charm that can make people blush, even when they want to hex him (looking at you purist girls haha).
Singing - Jesse is a phenomenal singer! When he sings! It doesn't happen very often but when it does people can be blown away by his talent. Not that he'd ever capitalize on that haha!

Growing up in foster care his entire life, Jesse was so happy to receive his Hogwarts letter. It meant that his life wasn't total shit, that things could get better and he could be happy. Sure, it wasn't a normal life, but anything was better than what he had. In 2011 he boarded the train for Hogwarts and started to a wonderful new adventure.
His first few years at Hogwarts he found that the wizarding world wasn't much better off than the muggle one. There seemed to be injustices no matter where he was. The death eater's families and the purebloods were treated terribly, and he hated it. It made him sick to think of people being treated a cerain way just because of who they came from. These kids, they came from families that loved them and they were being torn apart. He would have given anything to be in a family, to be loved and wanted. It was just wrong what was happening.
It was during his 5th year that the first attack happened at the school. It had all felt so safe until then, as though he was somehow immune to the craziness of the wizarding world because he wasn't apart of it. His little bubble of happiness popped the day of the Halloween attacks. The school was shook to its core, pureblood students were afraid, muggleborn students were afraid...everyone was afraid. If someone was so bold as to attack kids, then what would happen next?
Even though school felt unsafe to most, it was still a place of relief for Jesse. He longed to be walking it halls during the summer months, he wished he never had to leave. To go back to the foster care system, to a "private institution" as his case worker called it. Monica, she was the only one who knew about Hogwarts. To all the foster families he was placed in she would always refer to it as a "private institution", most families just assumed he had been in trouble with the law and had to serve time. It didn't matter, every summer he came home to a new family. One that didn't give a damn about him, and he didn't give a damn about them.
The summer of the Diagon Alley attacks Jesse spent entirely unaware. It wasn't until he came back to school that fall that he heard of the horrid event. It was then that he finally became fearful for himself. If the death eaters were back, and as pissed off as he imagined, then he knew it was only a matter of time before they took revenge. And that meant turning against the opposite side, him. The muggleborns. Mud-bloods. In October of his 6th year it became clear that his fears were closer than he ever thought. The death eaters had taken over the Ministry.
Firs they rid the castle of muggle studies, after that it came clear that the muggleborns were next. The castle went into a lock down, and sure enough during his 6th year the demanded that all muggleborns be registered or be considered a fugitive. Jesse had thought of going home that summer and never returning to Hogwarts...but Hogwarts was the only home he had ever known. He had dreams, and all those dreams revolved around that castle. To graduate. To go to college. To one day return as a professor.... So with a heavy heart, he signed the registry.
Jesse has been in temporary housing the entire summer, staying at the muggleborn camps. To him it's no different than being in another foster home. And this year, which was to be his final year at Hogwarts, will instead be spent at the Pyxis School for Muggleborn Children.

The woman who mothered Jesse was named Marci Jacobs, eventually becoming Marci King after her marriage to a man named Charles years after his birth. She was born to a young unwed mother of only eighteen years old. Shortly after her birth her own father passed away unexpectedly and her mother found herself unable to care for the newborn alone. Marci was put up for adoption only three months after her birth and was adopted shortly after. Her adoptive parents adored her greatly but she never was able to overcome the heartache of feeling as though she wasn't good enough for her adoptive parents. This caused her a great amount of emotional turmoil and also became the breeding ground in which her accidental slips of magic began showing themselves as she was a child. Marci was not expected to have magic. Her birth parents, as well as her adoptive parents, had no magical backgrounds so when her letter came for Hogwarts after her 11th birthday they were all in shock. Even with this inexplicable magic she still felt as though she wasn't good enough-- especially when she began comparing herself to her peers, many of whom had been around magic their entire lives. Marci struggled in school and began rebelling and getting into trouble. Her sixth year at Hogwarts she was expelled from the school and never asked to return. Marci left the school, and her family, taking to the streets determined to make it on her own alone. She became homeless aside from the times she spent in shelters and found comfort in drug use. A habit that did not come cheap, Marci became a prostitute in order to keep up with her habits.
In 1999 Marci met a man by the name of Isaac MacDermid. The two faced similar struggles-- both with addiction and being runaways. They remained close to each other so long as they could get high or warm one anothers beds. Isaac, too, was from the magical world. He was born the only squib in his family. They were a well to do family, very prestigious, and treated him quite poorly all his life. Isaac was shunned by most everyone in his community and made to feel less than. He decided at the age of fifteen that he better served them away than near, so he ran away from home. He lived on the streets doing what he could to get by. Isaac found himself fighting underground quite a bit, as well as selling various drugs and running close with the local gangs. From there out he was in and out of jail and prison more times than he could possibly count. When he met Marci he hadn't been out of prison but a few months for a drug charge, only to find himself right back using again. His time with Marci was cut short again by a violation in his parole that sent him back behind bars. He had no idea that he had fathered a child that the woman was carrying.
Marci did not tell Isaac either. Instead she tried to hide her pregnancy, lest it cost her clients. She continued her pregnancy, her drug use and sexual lifestyle never slowing down, and she gave birth to Jesse in August of 2000. When he was born he was riddled with addiction from the drugs his mother had transposed onto him. It was not only the baby feinding for drugs, however, and Marci found herself itching for a fix just a few short hours after birthing the baby. She left him alone in his bassinet in their hospital room and never returned. Once the nurses found her missing they took care of the newborn until he was healthy enough to go to a temporary care facility. They intended on finding his mother but had found that she had given them an incorrect last name, having actually used Jesse's biological father's as a cover up. Within a few months the investigation ran cold on Jesse's parents and he was deemed a ward of the court.
