something never finished, never done. it's something you can fake, and it's something that'll break, if it ain't something that you constantly become
She'd had her own food for some time, had been able to get along with food she knew was certified.  She had used that to avoid eating with the others-- not out of any particular desire to be alone, if only because she didn't know anyone. It was horrible awkward, it was almost nervous-- what if she upset people? She'd be living with them for however-long things lasted, if she wasn't forced back home.

Because she could leave-- that was the worst part. She could go back home to Spain, she could live with her father's parents and her aunt in Israel, but what if they kept track of her? She couldn't put her family in danger. What was one person for more? She'd give herself up,she knew she would, for anyone in her family. Besides, as insular as her school was, and how insular many continued to be, she didn't really know how much the Spanish Ministry considered her to be one of theirs. She'd gone to a local school, yes-- but it had little to do with them.Spain and France were. . .friendly, somewhat? But she thought Spain and Britain got along nearly as well, but Spain usually sent students to the French school-- Beautiful Sticks, or something.

But today-- well, she was out of food, and she would have to meet people sometime. Couldn't just hide in a cave, because that couldn't be really blamed on Shiraz. She had to face the world someday-- and maybe she could help. Make a golem or something, but that might make it more obvious where they were, to randomly see golems. Maybe she'd make one of herself, then-- something to-- keep her company, or something, if she didn't head out to see who she lived with. But she had to, right?

"Hello," she ventured nervously to someone as she sat besides them. "I'm Ayelet."

She Paints Her Fingers With A Cold Precision
He Starts To Notice Empty Bottles Of Gin
And Takes A Moment To Assess The Sin She's Paid For
Things had looked up drastically in the last couple of months.
Caspar, against all odds, had found her right when she'd been ready to break and all but swept her off her feet. Lexi had never really been appreciated like she was by the older Wizard and it was... it made her feel warm inside, even though her stomach did somersaults every time she saw him. This time last year, she had barely met him for the first time. He'd scared the living shit out of her when she'd done a runner to the Band Practice room after her prank semi-backfired. And now... now he was her boyfriend, and she felt safer. He made her enjoy being back in France.
Like she meant something, again. It was blowing the girl's mind.

And just before Christmas she had finally gotten a letter from Jonathan; That in itself had been her Christmas present.
Even if she was so sorely tempted to beat him up for making her think she'd died. But that feleing was mutual. She hadn't been able to contact her brother since entering the sanctuary with Bell so she'd sent a reply back with the same owl and had sat at the lip of the caves waiting on it returning. It hadn't, but she supposed that just meant that Jon was playing it safe with the rest of the group and was likely setting up house somewhere.
She'd see him eventually. She just hoped Caspar wasn't present in case her sibling decided to pull the overprotective beother act; His lungs were damaged as it was without Jon impeding it further. She just hoped with everything she had that the pair got along. Bell and Caspar has gotten along when the three of them had been in Gryffindor as far as she had seen, and she trusted Bell's judgement too. Still... she knew that even if no one else had liked the pairing she wouldn't have given Caspar up. He meant too much to her right now. She didn't see that changing anytime soon.

Sitting in the mess hall by herself- Bell was off doing his own thing- Lexi toyed with her food as she thought, hunching hwr shoulders to try and keep a semblance of warmth about her what with the abhorrent weather outside. The blonde didn't have anywhete to go after this really so sitting innhere was as good as sitting anywhere else. Looking up as someone joined her table, she flashed them a cheeky smile. She only vaguely recognised the person but then she wasn't the most sociable these days. "Hey Ayelet... I'm Lexi."
