And that's his gift to all, showing us the sun
@murdina
He was a little stressed this evening. Everything that he had been doing for the past weekend was slowly catching up, and Perry really just wanted to take a nap. Of course, he didn't really get the opportunity to do that. He had too many things to worry about for school, too many papers and assignments that he needed to work on. He thought that it was unfair that there were so many things that he had to do, but it really was his fault. Instead of taking the smallest amount of classes he could, Perry had done the opposite. It really didn't bother him. He liked school. School was interesting, fun. But he was getting a bit overwhelmed with the amount of work that he had given himself. he had Runes to translate, Arithmancy problems to work out, and Theory homework that he wanted to look through. Apart from that he had extra things to get through so that he could feel like he had enough done for extra Quidditch practice. That was just himself; he thought that he needed to catch up a bit more so that he could get onto the official team next year. Flying was important to him, after all. He liked being up in the sky. It was one of the few times where he felt like he was completely and utterly in control of everything. Since he rarely got that feeling he was going to cling to the thought as hard as he could.

Control... He thought that it would be better if they all had it. He wanted to be able to make his own schedule, to decide what was going to happen when. Perry understood that the world didn't work like that, though. He was still a kid. People set out his schedule and he had to follow what they wanted him to do. It was going to be a long time before he got to decide when he was going to be able to do anything. He just had to listen and watch and wait. Maybe when he graduated from Hogwarts he would be able to decide what he wanted to do. Lufkin let you make your own schedule. Perry wasn't stupid, though. He knew that his parents would be 'helping' him decide his schedule up until he died-- or they did. He was always going to have to listen to what they said. Was that what being a parent was all about? Making choices that your kids didn't like? No wonder a bunch of the Hogwarts teachers didn't have kids. They were already telling a bunch of kids what to do. What was the point of having to do both? Maybe that was why Headmaster Flint hadn't gotten married yet. Maybe he was so busy making sure that his students and his brother were following what to do that he was a bit too tired to get married and have his own kids. That would make sense. He knew that he could be wrong, but that could make sense.

After waving a farewell to Althea and Emi, Perry continued on his way to the Quad. He hadn't meant to latch onto the two of them, but it was easier walking in a group. He was planning on catching onto another group as soon as he could; he wanted to take a break from homework and hang around someone who wasn't drowning in it. That was rare to find in Hogwarts, but he was hoping that he could talk to someone that was nearly a breath of fresh air. He just wanted to not feel like he was drowning in his schoolwork, but that hadn't happened yet.
