Hels somehow had fallen into a lot of friendships, it had seemed. The short-lived Party Crew, which had seemed to fracture away with the coming of the new term, and Hels was still somewhat friendly with Clio, at least, but he'd known her before. They were some or the quieter kids in Sixth year, so that was certainly something they'd-- bonded over wasn't quite the right thing to say, but maybe fell together was better.

He and Maggie had been best friends since First year, and then Dario had spun into their lives, adopted him, Hels had nursed a crush on him, and he'd broken up with Maggie, also at the same time the party crew had fallen apart. There were the Greek kids, who he was friendly enough with, because they were friendly kids, and he was similar in that he also had a Greek name. Not quite though, because they had the names of deities they weren't at all like, but the legendary Helenus had been both a prophet and a warrior, and he was really none of that.

They were still going strong, and had been for several years. The Greek crew that was, and Hels still got along with many of them. It was sort of funny, with both Rhea Nott and Clio Jones, how they were also named similarly, but weren't in, though. . it probably wasn't the former's style and the latter was sort of the most unofficial official member, probably, what with how often Aphrodite fought with her.

But he treasured his friendships with them. They were some of the more popular Sixth years, and it was a bond that went further than just being the partiers or just quietness, and Hels appreciated that they had that. That friendgroup was a family, and they were definitely going to be friends outside of Hogwarts. Hels could count maybe three or four he was confident about (did Oliver count? they were cousins after all, and their families were on much better terms than the Fawleys and the Zabinis), and he. . .

It was a good idea to make sure there were more, get friendlier with others and so he'd been pleased when he'd ran into Hades in the room. "Hey, I'm not interrupting, am I? Can I sit with you?"

It's A Bittersweet Symphony

This Life

Originally, Hades hadn't held out much hope for making friends when his letter had arrived for Hogwarts. Then again, he'd never anticipated to meet like-minded kids like him who had been subjected to their parents whimsical thoughts and ideas during their mythology phases all in one place, either. But he had. And they had all come together over the years, adding more and more into their midst with a bond over apathetic parents or similar personalities. Zeph was a huge reason that The Fam continued to grow every other week, because the bloke didn't know how not to speak to people and offer a welcoming hand of friendship. And that was fine. It really was. All the way up until Hades turned up to meet said Fam somewhere and suddenly there were six new faces staring back at him and he tried to fold in on himself like a piece of origami and float away quickly on the breeze.

That being said... Hades didn't dislike anyone in the group. He just didn't really know many of them because he was an awkward human being who didn't know how to speak half the time, and the others tended to keep their distance from him in turn. It was a functioning system that wasn't entirely... useful. Sheri despaired of him, he knew. He could see it in her face whenever he came out of a failed social interaction or in her letters when she tried to get him to speak to someone for her in Hogsmeade and he sent Zeph instead into the Lion's Den.

Such an occurrence as this had just happened, which was why he had retreated back to the East Wing to calm himself down and catch up on some homework while Zeph played his sax, sent his bird to find Erebos and Nys or Aphrodite, and entertained his new friends that Hades hadn't really caught the names of. They were in their year.. mostly. Ish. Some from the year above, some from the year below. Zeph tended not to care which years his unlikely friends came from as he couldn't see them, and it was hard to judge an age based on a voice. Hades didn't have the reserves to deal with any of that. So he was far enough away now that they couldn't come and get him, but that he could get a hold of Nys before Curfew to give him back his hoodie... which he'd left in his mad scramble for escape.

Blinking owlishly as someone approached his table, he slowly swivelled his gaze up to the guy under his hair, then lifted his face too as he recognised him. The heart palpatations would go away faster, if nothing else. "Uhhh... no. Nope. All is- here, let me move thi- you're not interrupting, it's fine, Hels."
